I pretty much get a Cinnabon whenever I happen to pass by one so when I yelled to my husband that I was stopping as we were literally running through the airport for our flight, he was annoyed but not terribly surprised. Sensing my urgency, the woman behind the counter made it her business to move as slow as Cinnabon goo. She was rude as hell on top of slow, snapping my order back at me but I shrugged that off, it was 6:30 in the morning after all. I remained polite, trusting that adrenaline would get me to the gate on time. She placed our Cinnabons back into the oven, something I’d never seen before and chatted with her coworker while they … baked? At least 30 seconds after the timer went off, she turned her back to me as she placed them into their containers and passed them to me without eye contact or words. When I got on the plane I was horrified with how hard, crusty, burned and dry our Cinnabons were. Watch the video of me hacking away at it! I’ll never go back there, horrible service and the worst Cinnabon I’ve ever had. Steer clear.

In all of my trips through DCA, I’m not sure that I’ve ever stopped at this particular Cinnabon before yesterday. Maybe it was just good timing but the line was non-existent so my service was quick. This was just what I needed since I only had about 10 minutes in between planes and this was close to my gate. As I pondered what size to get, a guy walked up behind me and proposed that we should get the 4 pack mini bites and split them. Awesome suggestion. Almost as quick as we had come to that agreement, the lady behind the counter had taken 4 hot mini bites packaged them in twos and had the napkins ready to go. She had it ready before we could even give her the money for it. Now that’s quick service that is A-OK with me.

If you have never had Cinnabon I’m not really sure where to start other than, please do yourself a favor and get on that. Seriously, you deserve it champ. I’ll admit, if I am able to finish the entire thing I tend to feel a little wonky afterwards but I blame that on euphoria and not on the sugary caloric intake. They are always fresh, always gooey, always there for me during my travel stupor. I love them. There is a special place in my heart for the PecanBon. That place is starting to clog up but, true love, ladies and gentlemen, never dies.

I travel a lot, and everytime I do — I look forward to Cinnabon. So delicious, you really can’t go wrong. It’s practically a food group.
