Clarendon Metro Station

The Clarendon Metro station is clean and while it may not be as expansive as the Rosslyn Metro, this location is near some great areas such as Whole Foods and other places. I rarely go to Clarendon by train since I can bike there just as easily.

It’s a metro stop.
There’s nothing fancy. This is just your typical metro. Surprisingly due to all the traffic here it’s not as grungy at some of the other ones. You know that odor that’s been in the Rosslyn elevator for the past 25 years or so? Yeah you won’t find that here, so I guess that’s a bonus.
On weekends you will find a bunch of rowdy people in their 20s. Look out for puke one coming up the escalator. Tip this the street musician and be on your way.

Excellent location — near some great restaurants and retail stores. Facility is clean and good cell service in the tunnel.

The Clizzle Dizzle!
This isn’t NYC, so to hear someone in love with their public transportation system is odd. Hello, my name is Melodee and I love trains. Both of my grandmamas (now deceased) didn’t care to drive much. My mama only learned to drive the freeways when I was 16 and driving them myself. So no, although in my driving days I averaged 50,000 miles a year in my vehicles, I have never preferred to drive.
After an awful relocation from Nebraska to Northern Virginia during childhood, my grandmama learned to best way to pacify her sensitive, artistic eldest grandchild was to keep her moving and exploring on a train. Enter the DC metro system. Weekends were spent kicking it on the Blue and Orange Lines, and it was typically a crap shoot where we would get off and walk around for the day (but never Maryland, lol).
This section of the Orange Line is special to me as it holds many childhood memories plus later Clarendon and Courthouse becoming my main stations. It was wonderful to come back to the DC area after so long as see that Clarendon is still a premier station.
The station managers here are friendly and the riders are mostly quiet, pleasant commuters. Unlike other stations, you feel safe and don’t need to hold your nose as you walk through… no stench here. The walls are kept clean and the floors debris free. I wish ALL the DC stations would model this one. Maybe it’s not possible with their riders. Oh well.
Of course here you get access to the cool and yuppy world that is Clarendon, and so once again I join GoRemy in singing…

In terms of cleanliness this metro station deserves 5 stars. Never do you have strange odors of B. O, Curry and Farts at this station. The best thing about this metro station is the location. Clarendon metro station is right in the middle of uppity row. where all of of DC’s richer and yuppie relatives live. The ones who want the city living with the safeness and whiteness of the suburbs. This however this is where the station loses points 1. the location of the escalators, on the ends rather than the middle of the platform. So everyone bunches up at the end and fails to walk down the platform 2. outside no kiss and ride or taxi lane.

My «home» metro station that is approximately a 10 minute walk to my condo in Lyon Village/​North Clarendon. The Clarendon station is located only 3 stops from the District, which is great for shortening commute time. It’s also only two stops away from Rosslyn, which will allow you to transfer to the Blue line heading either into the District or down south towards Reagan National, Pentagon City Fashion Mall, and Old Town Alexandria. Generally great for getting anywhere I need to go on the weekdays/​weeknights with frequent trains coming every couple of minutes, but good luck getting around nearly as quick on the weekends. Leave time for missing a train and not having another one come for 16 minutes on a Saturday.
Also great about this station is that you are steps away from Trader Joes! Woooo there goes my wallet.

Located just outside of DC on the orange line, the Clarendon metro stop is a great location both to live, work, and play. I frequent this stop to see friends as well as the nightlife. My only complaint is that there are far too few turnstyles in the station!

Convenient location and easy access to all the restaurants and shopping in this part of town.

The third station from Rosslyn station on the orange line towards Vienna-​Fairfax and the 2^nd urban village on the yuppie corridor of Wilson blvd. Surrounded by upscale apartments/​condos, higher end retail, bars/​clubs, restaurants and other establishments living in Clarendon is yuppie’s wet dream.
