I love this playhouse. We saw Hedda Gabler here and truly enjoyed it. Reminded us of a London pub theatre (sadly, no bar though) and loved the intimate feel of the place.

This theater is the home of the Washington Shakespeare Company (WSC). The space used to be a warehouse, so it is amazing that it has been transformed into such a vibrant, adaptable space.
In fact, a couple of other theater companies like Fountainhead and Keegan put on shows here as well. Also, a non profit organization called The Actor’s Center is housed here. The Actor’s Center offers acting classes, workshops and space to put on performances.
The main draw are the Bard’s plays put on by WSC. This is a great spot to check out a traditional, and sometimes non-​traditional spins on Shakespear’s works.
