Cons: Ineffective legal counsel. His lack of negotiating power with a new prosecutor left me with a stiff penalty for a first offense case. Was busy surfing Facebook during my trial — not professional courtroom demeanor. I’m unclear what my fee got me, other than a high priced professional to explain the legal process for me, which is something I could have done myself.
Pros: Nice guy. Takes time to walk through case. Flexible hours/​availability.

I had an accident in July. It was one of those where the officer says, «Well, this wasn’t really your fault, but I have to cite you anyway.» So, I called David. He was fantastic – he got all the details of my case and talked about where he thought things might go. He was with me both days I needed to be in court and worked with the prosecutor to bring my ticket down to paying a fine for an infraction that doesn’t appear on a DMV report. If I had it to do all over again, I’d call him a second time.

One word. Excellent.
I called David on a Monday and he was in court representing me on that Wednesday. I had another lawyer for the case but that other lawyer was being a pain to say the least. Everything with David was smooth as butter and he was as cool as a cucumber. If you have an Arlington County case coming up, you cannot do much better than David Deane.

I hired David Deane to represent me in general district court for a speeding violation. I used to work for a criminal defense lawyer so i understood what needed to happen, but David invested the time to explain everything in great detail and affirmed my existing knowledge of the process. He hosted multiple negotiations with the prosecutor, each time coming back with something a little bit better. The best part was actually his out of the box thinking to resolve my issue. I had a technicality that was causing me great heart ache due to the date of the offense. Thanks to Dave thinking on his feet, he was able to have the offense date moved four days after the actual offense thus removing me from eligibility of the underlying problem.
