Days Inn Arlington

This place was the absolute worst place we’ve ever stayed. If I could give 0 stars, be assured I would have. It started with the over inflated price, thanks to the Taylor Swift concert being in town, which we understood… then the room was not clean, the towels literally thrown together and haphazardly place on the shelf, the complimentary soap and shampoo were on the floor next to the toilet! Then it was time for bed… they have a knock off brand of Serta’s sleep number beds, the danged thing deflated all through the night, we were seriously sleeping on the board under the so called mattress. In the morning we went down for breakfast. Breakfast consisted of rock hard biscuits, nasty greasy sausage links, not real egg scrambled eggs, and toaster waffles. The only good thing at the breakfast bar was the orange and apple juice. Upon check out my husband explained the issues with the room and the problem of the bed, he was given and «ok, we’ll send someone to fix it.» So if you are looking for a decent, not even nice, place in Arlington, Tx, DO NOT stay at the Days Inn on Pleasant Ridge.

Pluses, it was newly remodeled. Not too bad furnishings. Bed was comfortable (standard, non sleep number king). Wifi was free and worked fast. It was really quiet. Staff was nice.
Minuses, despite renovations bathroom still lacking and kinda dingy. Not the best of areas. Whole place smelt kinda musty like a house from the 70’s. Breakfast area was pitiful.
Really since we literally only slept there there wasn’t much else to comment on. I wouldn’t want to go on vacation necessarily here but it worked for what we needed.

Nothing special. Reserved a NON smoking room. Given a smoking room– the sign outside the door didn’t have a no-​smoke symbol, so I knew that wasn’t a good sign. Burn holes and black hair on bedspread, and of course stale smoke smell. I went to front desk and asked for a NON smoking room. The front desk clerk said «I gave you a NON smoking room.» I said it’s been smoked in AND the no smoke symbol isn’t on the door. First rule of customer service… Customer is always right. Second rule– don’t argue with a customer. He changed us to a real NON smoking room on 2^nd floor. Only thing nasty about it was the black hair in the styrofoam cup I almost poured my coffee in! They’re house cleaning staff need to wear hairnets!
Bed was firm and comfortable. Very quiet area. Breakfast… Nothing special. I’ve had better at best western and Laquita.

2 stars is the best I can give for this hotel. One for it’s location and the other for its friendly staff. Don’t stay here if you can. Not recommended.

I’m going to do my best to be charitable here, because the circumstances under which I wound up at this location were my own fault. THIS is what I get for jumping the gun!
I had an event I planned to attend in Dallas, but up to a month prior to the start date, I had no idea where it would be taking place exactly, and since participants were responsible for their own transportation and lodging, I didn’t want to get left ‘holding the bag’. So I booked a package deal through
, which steered me to this Days Inn in Arlington.
Now, mind you, I’ve seen better low-​priced hotels in better neighborhoods, but since I spent less than $ 600 on both rooms AND plane fare, I’m not one to bitch and complain. The room I got was nice and clean enough, and the staff was friendly and very accommodating — even though they didn’t have a business center, the young lady at the front desk was kind enough to allow me to use her laptop when I had to send out an important email.
The biggest problem for me was when I found out where my seminar was… at a hotel five minutes away from DFW… in IRVING. Days Inn in Arlington is at least a thirty minute drive away… and that’s with MINIMUM traffic. Plus the fee is about $ 60.00 — ONE WAY.
Needless to say I moved after a couple of nights, since being closer was MUCH cheaper. Having said that, here’s a list of the more obvious minuses you’ll find at the Days Inn, if you DO have to be in Arlington for one reason or another:
ICE MACHINE: There is only one and it’s downstairs near the lobby.
VENDING: The cooling system is shot, so it only dispenses WARM water and sodas. Want them cold? See above…
BUSINESS CENTER: WHAT business center? Also see above what I mentioned about that. Not sure if they have WiFi, since I never take my «work» laptop with me on non-​business travel (for obvious reasons.) If you walk up the road a bit to the Holiday Inn Express, they will actually allow you to use their PC’s for nothing! (Hmmm…)
BREAKFAST: About the standard fare for lower-​priced hotels… some unwrapped pastries, cold cereal and coffee. Nothing to make you go «WOW.»
Now on the UP-​side, walk north (I guess it’s north, I’m not that great with directions) about two blocks to the intersection of Pleasant Ridge Road and Cooper, and there’s a GIGANTIC mall across the street. On the corner is Grandy’s (which serves a not-​too-​shabby breakfast buffet with coffee for under $ 10). Directly across the street on the opposite side is a huge bank with a convenient ATM and a MickeyD’s; on the mall side is everything you could possibly want in restaurants, from a La Madeiline (sp?) to a Red Lobster.
I’m told that since the Cowboys Stadium is really close to this location, and that rooms at the Days Inn can go for as much as $ 500.00 a night during the Playoffs.
Gee…some people must REALLY love football…
