This Double Dave’s has great food but horrible service. We ordered delivery at about 6:30pm and they told us our food would be at our at 7:05 pm. Well, we still did not have our food by 7:40 so we called and asked why? The person on the phones says to us «Oh well our delivery guy had to do other deliveries» no apology was given, no «oh I am so sorry we will be there as soon as possible». And then they just hung up. It is almost eight and we still have not gotten our food. Would not recommend this location.

Date of service: 12÷18÷15 My mother was in town and wanted to have pizza before she left. We headed to Double Dave’s because we had a $ 5 coupon and had enjoyed the pizza on another occasion. First, Double Dave’s rejected the coupon(how can you reject a coupon that you sell through a vendor?). We ordered the pizza at 6:47PM. We didn’t receive the pizza until 7:37PM. When we asked what was taking so long, we were told that they had a lot of orders for a trampoline place. In addition, our pizza was COLD when it arrived. When I asked why the pizza was cold, we were told that they«had forgotten about the pizza for 5 minutes.» There’s no way the pizza had only been out 5 minutes. We should have received a discount(or free pizza), but nothing was offered. I was severely disappointed with the lack of leadership at this Double Dave’s.

This place is so good compared to Cici’s Pizza buffet. The dinner buffet is only available on Sundays and Wednesdays but it’s completely worth the price!

This Used to be one of the best pizza buffets in town and we went often but the last few times we have eaten there was a disappointment. The last time we walked in, looked at the buffet and walked out. I wish we had done so today. First the ladies bathroom was filthy, when a business can’t be bothered to put the soap, TP and paper towels in the dispensers that tells a lot. Second the sad. sad looking buffet. Not much on it and the pizza that was on the buffet was just this side of raw with very little toppings. We ordered a pizza and the crust was still white. I have had better pizza at Cici’s for a lot less money. The salad bar was almost out of every dressing. The Dr. Pepper was out of syrup. The tables were piled high with dishes. The metal music was so loud it hurt my ears and I like loud music but this is a family restaurant. Someone needs to wake this owner up, the employees they have working do not give a rats behind and that shows in everything they are doing to this business. It makes me sad and mad that what was once a nice tasty place to go to is now in this state. They have a frequent diners card where you eat there ten time and get a free meal. We use to eat there so often we have two full ones and We won’t be back.

This was only the second time I’ve been to a Double Dave’s. The first time was in Waco, TX where it was amazing, it’s not so much here. I only gave a 3 star review instead of 2 because the food did taste good. The time and service was bad. My husband and I got there around 5:45pm and the buffet was bare. We had to wait before getting anything and when they did put out some more pizza there wasn’t much of a variety. Now, I’m a somewhat picky eater but there’s a decent amount of pizza flavors I’ll eat. It was still 20 minutes before anything I would eat was put out though. 30 minutes until an Alfredo pizza(my favorite) was placed out and after being there for almost an hour they NEVER put out the pizza of the month. If you have a pizza of the month that needs to almost always be out, otherwise there’s no point in having a limited time flavor. I’m not sure if I’ll come back. It wasn’t worth the 30+ minute drive.

I used to love DoubleDave’s back in the day. I lived next door to one in Austin and went all the freaking time. I loved their philly cheesesteak stromboli and the salad bar that had all sorts of great components and the meatball stuffers. Time passes and my tastes get a little more sophisticated overall but every once in awhile I enjoyed going back to DoubleDave’s to get all those above things from the buffet. A few years ago they stopped putting the stuffers on the buffet. Ok, they still had a lot of stuff that I liked. All the way up until my most recent visit, I had«my» perfect DoubleDave’s buffet meal — philly cheesesteak stromboli, a pepperoni roll, a salad with macaroni salad, pineapple, ham bits, hardboiled egg. Last week I went for buffet for probably the first time in 6 months or so. I kid you not, everything I like to have was gone except for the pepperoni rolls. – no philly cheesesteak stromboli – no macaroni salad – no ham bits – no hardboiled egg – no pineapple I had a boring salad, a pepperoni roll, and a piece of crappy pizza that had been sitting out for probably two hours. And to add insult to injury, the price for the buffet was even higher than it had ever been. I had a $ 5 off coupon and it still came to $ 8 per person. A business that cheaps out on its offerings and keeps prices high is not long for this world. If you’re losing business you make your product better, not crappier. At this rate, Cici’s will knock their arses out of business. Better crappy and cheap than crappy and expensive. I’m really disappointed here and have no reason to ever come back. The pepperoni rolls still taste ok so I’ll grant them two stars, but I’m being pretty generous here. You people need to get your shit together and go back to your roots and what made you stand out in the past.

We took our family here and they were so excited. They hadn’t been to double Dave’s pizzas since their college days at A&M. Needless to say we were not impressed at all. The long wait ruined our memories of what once was a good pizza restaurant. As I write this review I am at the 45 minute mark and becoming increasingly more disappointed by the minute. There used to be a location in Mansfield and it closed. I now realize after this lack luster visit why it failed. From this moment on I will not spend a dime of my money at this location. Oh and as they were delivering our pizza the guy dropped one of them increasing our length of visit more.

Terrible food and service. We were told marinara would be extra, which we agreed to, and they didn’t bring it out with the food anyway. Ordered cheese rolls as a starter — when they came out with the pizza we mentioned they were supposed to be an appetizer and the employee responded, «The manager wanted the order to come out complete.» The cheese rolls weren’t very good anyway. Pizza was bland and nothing to write home about. Music was excessively loud and was a mix of Staind, P.O.D., and Limp Bizkit — when my mom commented about how loud the music was, they didn’t bother to turn it down but did condescendingly change it to Christian music. I honestly don’t normally write completely negative reviews, but I have nothing complimentary to say about my experience. Definitely my last visit at DoubleDave’s.

We were the only ones there and waited 45 min for pizza. There was 4 employees standing there. Pizza was gross. All the toppings came right off. Will try another location. I’ve heard the other places are better.

Pizza was fine. The cheese bread was awesome. Atmosphere was very family-friendly. There was nothing that really«WOW-ed» me about the place. The pizza was very normal. Our family split the alfredo pizza with grilled chicken on top. I am interested in going back to try the pizza buffet, as I hear that it is great.

Absolutely love this place! Everyone here is friendly, courteous, helpful, and awesome, from the staff to the manager. Good pizza, great prices, and good buffet selection. If you want it, they’ll make it for you!

Good for the price… We got a half BBQ and Half Buffalo chicken. Wasn’t the best, couldn’t taste either sauce. Buffet might be the better deal for this place. Good environment for families though.

We have come here several times during the buffet on Wednesday nights. The price is good, but don’t expect good service. They do not clear used plates off of your table and are very slow to add new pizza to the buffet line. Twice we’ve been here and they ran out of plates to use. If you want Double Dave’s, you would be better off finding another location!

Double Dave’s is a great pizza place in S. Arlington. Sometimes we get one to go, sometimes we stay and enjoy the buffet(select nights). The pepperoni rolls and chicken parm stuffer are personal favorites and a great alternative to pizza. The crusts are really good here — soft and buttery.

I could probably go my whole life without eating here again, and I probably will. I ordered a customized pizza and some wings. Both items tasted like the frozen food you would find at your typical grocery store. Not only that, but the wings were still frozen! The place also had a funky smell. The employee who helped me was nice, but not nice enough to boost this restaurant’s star rating.

Not to shabby of a place. During my visit there all the tables were dirty and no one was cleaning them. After a few minutes someone finally started cleaning up which made me wonder why they took so long since they were not even busy. The pizza was good and they tried to keep the buffet stocked.

Well I’ve driven by quite a few times without being tempted to stop, but I was craving a hot pizza pie today. There was only one table occupied when I came in, so it was nice and quiet. The menu is straight forward, and I like that. Pizza is made to order, the small is enough for one if your really hungry. I had the plain cheese and my husband had veggie on honey wheat crust. I will admit his crust was better, reminded me of Mellow Mushrooms. They have a nice size salad bar that I got unlimited trips to for a dollar with the check in offer. The beer is pretty cheap too. I loved the music, and the place is laid back, Ill def be back for more!

If I want to order good pizza, I think past Domino’s/ Pizza Hut/Papa John’s and all the«popular» chains. There is something in their pizzas which makes me dislike them. Its probably the assembly line quality pizza and their not so fresh ingredients. This is exactly what I didn’t find in Double Dave’s pizza. I thought the difference in quality was very visible. I had the Dave’s Fave and also a customized deep dish pizza with pepperoni and spinach(I know… weird combo). But I definitely enjoyed the Pizza. Way better than Domino’s and Pizza hut and Papa John’s anyway. I am going back for more this weekend and more weekends to come.

Oh how I miss thee, let me count the ways! So I don’t live in Kennedale anymore, and yes, I know there are Double Dave’s in Austin. .. . but this location just can’t be beat on service. I promised AGES ago to review this location, and never did. .. so sorry, and here it goes… 1) Peproni Rolls!!! Peproni Rolls!!! Peproni Rolls!!!(and NO that isn’t misspelled, it’s Double Dave’s trademark). I HEART them! 2)They have that new coke machine that I LOVE where you can put together different flavors into 1 soda. YUM! I love that I can change to whatever I want on my refill, and nobody messes it up because it is self-service. 3) When you come in for buffet, you can request any pizza you want, and as long as it isn’t too close to closing, they will make it! My cousin wanted a pizza they don’t even have on their menu, and they tried to make it for her! THAT is an awesome thing. 4) On my second trip I was at first disappointed, because although it was getting late, the buffet still had a half hour to go and there were NO desserts left. I get that you have to «wind down» a buffet. .. but dessert is the last thing you eat, so shouldn’t that be the last thing to run out? I huffed and puffed a little, and then next thing you know an employee brought a piping hot dessert straight to our table. Next thing I knew, we had 2 to pick from. Very FAST response to my disappointment. THAT is what customer service is all about! 5) Clean restaurant. .. . well, that is a given. Overall, I really like this location.
