I wish it was possible to give this place negative stars. I purchased the living social a few weeks ago for«Personal training sessions 3 times a week for 3 weeks with a qualified trainer». I made my appointment for a Friday morning and the trainer who I set up the appointment with did not even show up! There was another guy there who called the person I had made the appointment with and sort of tried to help me. He told me I was welcome to stay and workout and the trainer would be there an hour and a half after the time we had originally set. When I left, I left my number for someone to follow up with me and never recieved a phone call. It was a very disappointing experience. Stay away from this place. There are many other gyms with better customer service.

I went in and was fooled(partly my fault, I know) by the owner into«trying it out» for a month. They give you this hard sell, and act as if they won’t take you unless you’re really«serious» about getting in shape. He said I would not have to continue if I didn’t like it. I had no problem with the equipment or staff, but the hours were incredibly inconvenient. They closed in the middle of day, and then were open only until 8 pm during the week, 9 –12 on Saturday, closed completely on Sunday. I don’t know if it’s still the same, but a gym to be open 3 hours on the weekend??? That’s ridiculous. Anyway, I said I didn’t want to continue. The owner said, «No, you have to give 30 days notice.» I said«But I just joined 30 days ago. I had to quit the day I joined?» He said, «That’s what you signed.» And sure enough, contrary to what he promised, the paperwork had the 30 day notice rule. So I had to pay for 2 months. And it’s something like $ 150 a month. Oh, and for that amount, they strongly discouraged me from coming in 6 days a week. They wanted me to be serious, and yet they told me repeatedly I just needed to come in 3 days a week. Avoid this place.

If possible I’d give this place zero stars. This gym has no redeeming qualities. I was here for an open house a couple of months ago. I didn’t really think going in that I was going to join, I mostly went to give moral support to a friend who was very interested in joining. This place is tiny, no exaggeration, it’s about the size of a kindergarten classroom. I can’t really comment on the equipment they have, I think most of it was put in the back to make more room for the open house. They did have four or five weight machines out and three or four treadmills. When someone first came over to greet us we were mostly interested in the cost, but we got wishy washy answers that varied depending on who we spoke to. Finally the owner told me that it could be as little as $ 19.95, I assumed a month, but would soon found I was very wrong. The staff there weren’t friendly at all, in fact my friend left in tears. Their sales technique was demoralize. We were told when we first walked in that there were only a couple of spots left in the gym(read: BUYNOW) and when we asked if it would be possible to come in together(because you needed a scheduled appointment to workout) the owner just laughed in our faces and said«No way!» Eventually we were both weighed, I was told that although my body fat percentage was in the healthy range, that I should come three times a week for six months at $ 19.95 per VISIT. I was also informed that I’d have to pay up front, $ 1,800! My friend was basically told that she was fat, and the owner’s wife told her that she seemed like the«kind of girl who wouldn’t keep up with it.» Never join here! I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy because that would mean that the scummy predators at Get in Shape for Women who poorly disguise themselves as «personal trainers» would make some more money!
