Love this place! Every time I come the food is delicious. I love the wings, macaroni, and the cornbread! I’ve not tasted a menu item that I didn’t like to be honest. During lunch I usually do a to-go order or sit at the bar, and each time the bartender Ryan has been great, attentive, and extremely helpful! I give him 5 stars alone. The only not so great thing here are the hostess. They sometimes are nowhere to be found, which is why my co-workers and I just go to the bar. On 1÷28÷16 in particular, the hostess was rarely at the entrance stand. About 3 parties waited to be seated on different occasions, and we couldn’t help but notice. That could turn away customers who aren’t open to sitting at the bar, but don’t let it stop you. It’s worth the wait(although there shouldn’t be one). Conveniently located right off of Pentagon City metro, once you enter the glass double doors at the top of the escalators!

One would think a quiet day at a restaurant means better service. Not at Harry’s. As we were seated, we passed scores of empty booths to be put in a back corner and therefore received bad service. The waitress brought our onion rings but no ketchup… we had to ask another waitress because she disappeared. When I finished my drink, once again, we had to ask another waitress because we couldn’t find our waitress. Then when my burger came, she forgot to write down I order it to have bacon. After talking to the manager about the Siberian-like location and the poor service, he gave me excuses for the reason everyone was seating in the back while and the main room was empty. He said he would look into my burger mistake. Got back to my table and by that time, the bun had turned to mush and the burger was uneatable. When waitress apologized for her mistake, I gave her the mushy burger to show the manager. She came back with the bill of my friend and I said the meal was ruined because of her and the manager’s lack of solving the problem and I wouldn’t pay for any of the meal. She told the manager, and manager came by and said ‘have a nice day’ and left. He never apologized for the horrible service or food. His lack of an apology gave me the impression he really didn’t care one way or another(and that reflects on their bad training and mediocre service). Really bad experience. One would think on a slow Monday after New Years, they would be HAPPY to see customers(the place was 25% full at lunch) and with hardly anyone eating, you would get good service. But no! I would hate to see how they cope with a full restaurant. Avoid this place or take your chances on service and food. Go to Johnny Rockets, right next door, if you want a good burger. You’ll get better service and just as good burger.

My mom wanted me to leave this review lol. I usually take lots of pictures but I didn’t expect much from this place but I’m pleasantly surprised. We had the happy hour half off appetizers which were really good prices. The wings were just ok but my mom is inLOVE with the catfish. The fried shrimp and sausage platter was really good too. The happy hour doesn’t include cocktails just beer and wine. The full rack of ribs was super filling. Not the best but not the worse.

I got a brisket sandwich with fries. Girlfriend for a salad with chicken in it, that for $ 37.45 with the tip. Overall the food was mediocre at best, service was mildly pleasant, the place was nice, food was way overpriced. Will not return.

In a quick decision I stopped in for a late lunch/brunch this past Saturday and sat at the bar. My service was good, with the exception of not being greeted at the door. Thankfully, I saw the available bar seats and just seated myself. Drinks: Being that I was in the mood for brunch, I ordered a bloody mary. Unfortunately, it was a pretty big disappointment. Being from the south, I know a good bloody mary when I have one, and theirs needs some work. Not nearly spicy enough, almost bland. Not smokey, not enough alcohol. No kick or depth of flavor whatsoever. It was basically like drinking plain tomato juice. Not my kind of bloody mary. :/ Food: I started with the pan cornbread. It satisfied my cornbread craving and was pretty much what I was expecting. I liked the presentation of the cornbread being served in individual cast iron skillets, too. Very cute. For my main course I had the chicken and waffles. I LOVE chicken and waffles, and this dish didn’t disappoint. The chicken was very well seasoned, perfectly moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The waffle fell short compared to the chicken. While the flavor was nice, the texture was a little too crisp and not quite fluffy enough. But overall, the dish had very good flavor. My overall experience at Harry’s was nice, although I would hope for a little more attentive door service next time. I would maybe return, if I was restricted to this area. But I beg you, WORKONYOURBLOODYMARY! Cheers!

Actually 3.5 stars although I come here for happy hour only. The happy hour here starts at 3 and they have drink and food specials. Appetizers are half price and the portions are good. Service can be slow and is hit or miss and some of the staff you can tell that they really don’t want to be there. Considering this is the ONLY sit down restaurant in pentagon city mall(unless you count Johnny Rockets) this place is a possible gold mine. Instead they survive on mediocrity and the fact that they are the only game in town. As I said I go for Happy Hour and it’s fine but I don’t think I’d be there unless it was the case. When in the area(which is frequently) and I want to sit down and get some good food I usually head towards Fyve at the Ritz… Unless it’s happy hour lol

In a word — amazing! Cajun turkey burger — Mac and cheese and the cornmeal shrimp — scrumptious. Not to mention the kindest waitstaff I’ve experienced in a long time– wonderful place with super great food!

I walked down to Harry’s Smokehouse to meet a friend for a leisurely dinner around 7:30. I note some folks feel disappointed that such a nice restaurant opens on to a food court; but once inside, all is forgiven. We were seated promptly and had a stellar waiter. He was knowledgeable and answered our questions about the beer list; appropriately friendly and attentive. The wedge«side salad» was a very large portion. Everything was fresh and crisp. A great starter. I settled on a pulled pork sandwich(cole slaw topping) and fries. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich. We were both very happy with out meals. By 7:30, both the mall and the restaurant are very quiet. Easy conversation, even with a number of other patrons. There were enough available tables that we didn’t feel guilty by lingering for our chat and nursing our beverages. Prices are moderate. I’ll definitely return.

Our family after enjoying our meal at Harry’s Smokehouse! We enjoyed the Slow & Low, Salmon and St. Louis ribs! Our server was absolutely fabulous! Please stop by to see LaTonya! She is personable, proactive & professional. She gave us great ideas on ordering from the menu. Thanks for making our visit so very enjoyable!

My girlfriend and I stopped in here while shopping. OMG we sat at the bar and had the sangria. A must have. I ordered catfish nuggets, fried pickle chips — so good. We are coming back for happy hour! The mixologist was not only gorgeous, made a fantastic sangria but she was sweet too. Ask for Yaya.

We had the texas smoked brisket and brisket sandwich. They were not bad. Very tender. Seasoning was on the lean side though. A little disappointed. Mac and cheese was awesome. Service and drinks were good. We did go a little after the lunch rush and eveeyone did look a little beat. Pros: Fair food. Great location. Great service. Clean. Con. Food a little disappointing to my taste. 3 stars. Recommend: Yes.

Holy crap this is the worst burger I ever had. First time it came out overcooked and dry. After I sent it back the second one came out raw in the middle and dried out. I have had better at In and Out and that is saying a lot. Fried chicken was decent my partner had, but the skin was soggy. I ordered a side wedge salad and when it came out with no salad dressing the staff looked confused when I asked for dressing. Once I got blue cheese dressing it was decent salad. Only reason I am giving it two stars. Will never be back. I will stick to the aged burger at Mackie’s.

The brisket was good but slightly dry. They have a reasonable happy hour price for decent red wine.

Stopped by here while at the mall one day thinking it might be good based off looks. We were greeted by a woman first who took our drink orders, then someone else brought us our drinks, then several minutes later the first woman came back to take our order. About 40 minutes later, with only 3 other tables in sight our food finally came. I got the cajun turkey burger which was just a frozen burger with a cajun sauce on the side. I couldn’t even eat it it was so gross. I also got a baked macaroni as a side which was ok but velveta shells would of been even better. After complaining and ready to leave this horrible experience we were finally greeted by a man who claimed to be our real server. He apologized for his lack of appearance because he ‘had a huge party he had to take care of.’ I have waited tables before and if you can’t handle a party of 6 people and one two top this might not be the job for you. He should of at least told someone so we could of received a new waiter and not a 40 minute wait for food.

TERRIBLESERVICE. I can’t believe this place is in business. Dead at 12:30pm on a Saturday. «Coasters» that are circles of plain, white cardstock” that my grandma could make from her scrapbook supplies. My waiter had his hands in his pockets the whole time he talked to us, and was walking away as he casually mentioned the lunch special. I am also moderately convinced that he was stoned. Their menu needs updating, they don’t have some of the beers and food items. Bonus points for their French fries – they may not be hand cut but they came out like Five Guy’s style. There are four sauces on the table, not labeled, with dirty bottles and tops. Have to ask for ketchup. Did I mention the bad service? No water refills, good runner brought food and our meals were nearly finished before our server came back to check on us. And on the way out, the gaggle of girls standing around the podium was the cherry on top of a bad lunch experience. Will NOT be returning again.

I haven’t been to Pentagon Mall for a while so as I was looking for places to eat, this place caught my attention. I was thinking I could go for some bbq. We looked at the menu first and once he saw that they had fried pickles we said ok we’ll get a table. Well we got seated right away and our waiter came right away to grab our drinks. He was soft spoken, very nice and attentive in the beginning. He proceeded to tell us that we came just in time for happy hour which is half price apps. Score! We ordered the wings, fried pickles, cheddar and jalapeño cornbread, and smoked sausages. The food took only about 10 minutes except they forgot the cornbread. –Wings were suppose to be «chipotle glazed» but it was more like a burnt glaze. I definitely had to pour on the bbq sauce. And they were very small wings. –Fried pickles were actually one of the 2 that I liked, they were crunchy and seasoned. –Cornbread– although these came last it was my favorite. I’d go back just to eat this, its cooked in a skillet and its not too much jalapeño(I’m a baby when it comes to spicy foods). –Smoked sausage– we ordered one of the pork belly and one of the beer-pork. When it came out it looked like turds. It was incredibly burnt, it was small tiny pieces of sausage on a big plate with a ginormous amount of onions, which we asked to put on the side not everywhere on the sausage. I couldn’t even eat it, one side was so burnt it was hard to even bite into it. Our server was fine… slow. but ok until the end. We waited about 10 minutes just to ask for the check, he was no where to be seen. So another employee asked if we needed anything. Finally he came and took the check then took another 5 minutes. We had to ask another waiter for our cash back. We were trying to walk around the mall and he wasted about 15 minutes of our time getting the check and bringing it back to us. And we saw him standing around bojangling doing who knows what. The end part should be the easiest part not frustrating for us. We were extremely annoyed and could not wait to leave. Don’t think this would be a second try type of place. Thank god it was all half off because I would be highly upset spending money on food that was poorly made and the food is also very overpriced. The food shouldn’t be more than $ 10 for combos, maybe not even that. I suggest the chef(s) reevaluate the food and maybe their cooking skills. Yes, food came out quickly but thats why it was bad. I’d rather wait an extra 10 minutes for some real good food that I can write good things about. But no not this place! I’ll stick to the food court.

I pass by this place a lot and have always been curious to try it, but I was rather disappointed by my experience. Lauren B(so excited one of my good friends is a Unilocaler too!) and I visited on a Wednesday evening, just in time for their happy hour. Cornbread for just $ 1.50 each! Awesome :) I was debating between getting a burger or getting one of their more traditionally«smokehouse”-type foods, and I opted to go with the latter and ordered the Texas-style smoked brisket, which came with sliced 2-layer spice rub and smoked over mesquite, served with pickles and white bread. I also got a side of broccoli. It was a lot of food, but it wasn’t as tasty as I’d hoped. The brisket was a little dry and I had a stomach ache afterwards. Lauren B ordered the St. Louis pork ribs, smoked over hickory wood and finished on the grill. She was also similarly disappointed. In fact, several of the ribs she ordered were still ice cold(um, what?) so she had to send them back to be re-heated. There was also something really off about our waiter. He kept forgetting things and poured coca cola instead of water, and had to go back and switch that. I wasn’t sure what was up. Overall, we didn’t have a wonderful experience at Harry’s Smokehouse. The prices are a bit steep for what you get, and the food was only mediocre, in my opinion.
