My first time having this food truck, only because it was literally in front of my job, and it was BOMB! I was disappointed because i didn’t see the fried oreos and pickles on the menu until after I ordered =(. I got the Jerk Chicken bowl, and it was so freakin good. The spicy level was spot on, not too spicy and not too. not spicy lol. The veggies were super tender but not too tender to the point they were mushy, and seasoning was perfect! Ah i cannot get over the flavors! And the girl who took my order was very friendly, and they got my order out pretty quickly, i was actually expecting like at least a 15 minute wait. But i think it was only like a 5 – 10 minute wait; which was a plus! I would def get this again, if it comes around my job more often! I’ll forsure order me some fried oreos and pickles doe =D

I was out looking for where to eat and ran across this food truck. When I saw they had fried pickles on a truck I just had to give them a shot. I ordered the fried pickles and the Mother Klucker sandwich. They both were amazing. The fried pickles are fried in a beer batter that gave it a very nice flavor(even if I could feel my arteries clogging as I ate it). The jerk sauce on the chicken sandwich was very good also, just enough bite to add to the chicken, shredded cheese and pickles all on a kaiser roll. The service was extremely nice and cheery. I will be going there again.

I have never written a bad review and hate to do it here. They get stars for being so nice and because they were busy when we came. We waited for over 30 min for our order. We ordered a couple appetizers, 4 meals, and a dessert to share. We got the appetizers — they were okay. Nothing I would highlight or order again. We threw about half of each away. For the meals — my teenage son who eats most things couldn’t eat his meal(chicken rice bowl) and we tried it and agreed. It pained me to have to throw it away. My other teenage son could eat his(chicken rice bowl) once he took the chicken out and just eat the rice and veggies(chicken was dry and hard to eat). My husband ate most of his after he added sauce from home — his was left off I guess. His chicken was also hard and dry. Mine was the wrong order — I ordered pineapple rice with shrimp. I was really excited to try it — I hope whoever got it enjoy it and it is good. What I got was edible but could only it a part of it before I had to stop — it was so greasy(and it was a rice bowl). Finally the fried Oreos my son was craving and heard great things about were missing. This is the same son that couldn’t eat his meal — He just made himself some popcorn. Will I try again, maybe not. If we got the correct order I am not sure if it would be different results because what we did try was just not up to par with even fast food. They were very friendly and were hustling though so I hope it was just an off order for them.

The employees were very nice and friendly. The food was amazing and you can’t beat bang for buck at this food truck. Delicious quality food for a reasonable price, 10⁄10 would go back.

Looky here looky here! I done stumbled upon a gem. This is review is based on one meal had. It was exquisite. One of the best meals I had after being in this area for 6 years. I got the Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles. It wasn’t a waffle so don’t get your hopes up. But if was a funnel cake! Also it was covered in some kind of syrupy bbq sauce and powdered sugar. Yeah I did a double take when I saw it because I’m not used to seeing powdered sugar on fried chicken. I built up my courage and I dug in. The funnel cake was devious — Pretty Damn Tasty. The maple syrup bbq sauce YUM. The wings COTDAMN all I wanna know is what slaves fried fhat chicken? It know somebody’s meemaw is in the back of that truck double breaking chicken. I wanted to let out a rooster crow it was so good. Buddy let me tell you it was all good. I ate every bit. The wings were huge… yeah I’m going back to try every thing on this truck. Yes yes yes. Most amazing food I have had in a long time. The food is always hot and fresh and made to order I can’t wait to visit this truck again when I stumbled upon this truck I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m so happy I tried it. Sometimes there is a wait but it’s only because they’re not like the other food trucks they actually cook the food to order take it from someone who doesn’t usually eat out this truck is a great find.

I went out in search of a small snack and stumbled upon Kool zone. I decided on the loaded chese fries, cause who doesnt like heese fries. What I got was a huge container full of fries, smothered with spicy nacho cheese, caramelized onions, shredded cheese and strip of bacon. Not the fake bacon bits but real, good, long strip of bacon. The only suggestion I would make is offering half portions. Unless you have a friend to share with, the portion is just too big.

The chicken and waffles are highly recommended. I would recommend getting the Jerk Chicken but ask they to hold off on the sugar and sauce and put that on only the waffles.

Do NOT get the jerk wings. They slathered it with some kind of jerk paste that was extremely salty. I couldn’t eat one wing. Such a waste of money.

I stopped by the Woodbridge Food Truck Festival this weekend… of course as the name describes, there were numerous different trucks ranging in ethnicity. After a lap and a few bites from different trucks, my friends wanted to check out the Kool Zone truck — and get a funnel cake. This truck has a full menu of fried goodies and wraps. Everything ranging from chicken and waffles, fried pickles, Cesar wraps, to funnel cakes, fried candy bars and smoothies. This was by far the longest line of the festival. I stood in line over an hour for a smoothie, which I would never had done if my step mother wasn’t jonesing for a funnel cake like she was. The funnel cake — delicious! You can really tell the oil is fresh and doesn’t have a pile of sugar burning in the bottom. The smoothie, really good except for the absurd amount of seeds, it really could have benefited from a quick trip through a strainer. I asked for the tropical smoothie without bananas, but evidently it was all pre mixed that wasn’t available. I had to go for the all berry option instead. It was good — but man those seeds were a bummer. So here is the deal with the long line… everyone was walking around with a whole cored pineapple as the vehicle for their smoothie. Cute idea in theory… but they were working their tails off to hollow out pineapples — only to be trashed later. It was a novelty that created crazy long lines and quite a bit of confusion and bottle necking. Seriously, just order your smoothie in a cup.

I came here for fried Oreos! Unfortunately I’d already bought my lunch from my work café, but once I saw their menu– I wish I’d bought my lunch here. Very family felt business, it’s a husband and wife who cook, and serve. They keep a picture of their kids in the order window and it’s really adorable. Even though I ordered something small, they were nice and made light conversation and were able to balance me with about 7 other customers. I got my food quickly and it was warm and delicious! I will definitely come again as I love supporting family business and found this one to be pretty adorable. Standard prices for a food truck in the DC area– anywhere from $ 6 – 15. Menu consisted of mostly soul food type items and all sounded pretty good. Fish on Fridays!

Saw on that this truck was in Rosslyn and they were serving up freshly fried fish. Went with a coworker and we both got the fish and fries and we are NOT disappointed. It IS fresh, made to order, and piping hot. The proprietors were super nice and friendly. Can’t wait to try out some other menu items.

Definitely one to add to your list of trucks to try! Don’t judge a book by it’s cover! Kool Zone dishes may not look so pretty, but that’s because they put their effort on the taste and solid customer service. Oh, and I think they will deep fry just about anything LOL! Definitely shows up some of the other local fried chicken trucks… and I think they are the only truck around that has funnel cakes too. Always fresh never frozen seems to apply here… and you can taste the fresh goodness!
