Stopped by from out of town. At only $ 1.50 a cookie, it’s one less thing to be guilty about now. Chocolate ginger cookie is just the right amount of spicy and sweet. Friendly staff! Cash or check only, though.

Lakota has the best cookies I have ever eaten, hands down. I agree with previous posters about the service but the cookies are definitely worth the 5 star rating. It’s really difficult to pick a favorite — everything is just delicious.

Three words: gluten. free. paradise. The gluten-free financiers and lemon macaroons are incredible. And nice people. It’s cash only, so bring plenty! Because only half of what you buy will make it home.

Where to begin? Every choice we make when we visit is a 10! We talk about this bakery whenever we want something sweet and delicious. Every baked good we have tried has been crafted with incredible care and the amazing flavor stays with you. Today we were so disappointed to have missed their closing time! I wish I could give recommendations on what to try but honestly every time I try something new it becomes my new favorite. Currently: lemon cream cookies! Pure heaven!

THEBEST bakery around, hands down. Every time I bring these cookies anywhere, people are blown away, they make a statement when I put them on the table. Fresh, innovative and just always good. I like that, I can depend on them and the quality. KEEPITUPLAKOTA, we love you!

Lakota Bakery in Arlington deserves accolades for its Lemon Cream Sandwich(so beautifully delicate it get separate wrapping), Chocolate Cream Sandwich, Pecan Shortbread. Others, however, are either good(Mocha Cream Sandwich). acceptable(Chocolate Tuxedo, Walnut Crescent) or achingly sweet(Chocolate Vanilla Sandwich). We haven’t tried the popular Florentines.

Well, well, well, I have to admit – THEBESTBAKERYINARLINGTON! I walked into this small store one day when I was waiting for my pick up in the pizza place next door. When I went in, nothing was special. One lady with long and black hair was taking care of the business. I checked around and finally picked a couple of coconut macaroon dipping in chocolate and a couple of chocolate florentine(?)…When I was ready to pay, she told me that actually they only accept cash… but I had no enough cash on me… ugh. USD…what I should do. a little awkward. Then she said that it was fine. She wrote up 5USD on the back of a business card and told me that I can pay them back the next day! It wasn’t big money but I still felt very grateful and trusted! Then I went back home and showed my husband what I got. At beginning, he didn’t care but when we both had a bite on macaroon… OMG, it made our day!!! So tasty!!! Absolutely awesome!!! Neither soft or tough. When you bite on the cookie, your can feel the joy of your teeth; when the flavor melt in your mouth, you just want to close your eyes to taste, to enjoy then jump up and yell: one more, please! On the second day, we directly went back to get another 20USD cookies, hahahaha! Strongly recommend!!!

There cookies are positively devine. I’ve been coming here for several years. I have never had a bad cookie here. When I step inside I feel like a kid in a candy store, looking at all the different flavors. Every few months they switch or add new flavors. My new favorite is the chocolate peanut butter cake bomb. It’s out of this world. Working nearby, requires exercising restraint.

I thought I’d have to throw away cookies three through five after eating a chocolate and lemon macaroon from a bag of five cookies. The chocolate macaroon is the best cookie ever. Seriously. I’m comparing iced fig from Mike’s, linzer from Lyndell’s, Modern’s dried fruit and nut whatchamacallit… Please, spare yourself the agony. If you get the chocolate macaroons, eat them last! The third cookie I ate was the raspberry linzer. For a linzer it’s mindblowing. Get the order right and you can build a cookie crescendo that will thunder with satisfaction.

Yay, yay, yay!: rum balls, brownie bites, triple sec balls, ginger choc cookies! Nay: the sandwich cookies I tried(frosting filling too sweet & not my thing), the fact that they’re cash-only. Ehhh, so-so: chocolate chip w walnuts– quality of choc chips not great. Too sweet.

This is a very dangerous place. Any place that makes baked treats that are so good and frankly addictive is just asking to be regulated by someone! I recieved a box of their macaroons, many covered in a thick rich velvety delicious chocolate, white and black, and fell in love with their baking talent. I am now a regular, soon to become a fixture if I don’t get my craving for their fabulous confections under control. The treats in their display cases sing their siren song to my taste buds and I am helpless to resist. Think I’m exaggerating? Want to test your iron will? Try them, I dare you!!!

I’ve yet to have anything I didn’t love from here. Everything tastes fresh, crisp, and just the right level of sweet. They have also become our offical birthday cake vendor of choice. While their cookies aren’t cheap(I layed out around $ 60 for 3 dozen for a family function) they hand down beat every other bakery or non bakery cookie I’ve ever had. And I just love the variety! They have also become our official birthday cake vendor. Their cakes are just as good as their cookies. They use straight-up real ingrediants… teh frosting isn’t too sweet, and is real buttercream, rather than some shortning-based monstrosity.

was walking by when my nose was attacked by this wonderful smell. it was coming from Lakota. I didn’t know I wanted a cookie. I made it about 20 feet from the shop and wouldn’t you know I now needed a cookie. the girl at the counter was friendly and patient as I paced back and forth making my choice even more difficult. end up with a great peanut butter cookie with what I think had a bag of pb chips on top of it and a kind of almond butter cookie that had a huge dollop of real choc on top. ran across the street to the store and grabbed a milk and continued on to the bus stop. and then I think I blacked out because it was one of the best times ive ever had waiting for a bus in 30 something degree weather. great place and certainly a great place to pop in and grab something if ur gonna be a guest some place and don’t want to show up empty handed.

Super friendly people, open until 8pm(makes it easy to bring cookies the next day), and not a bad cookie in the line up!

If I was only allowed to eat cookies from one bakery for the rest of my life this is the place I would choose. Lemon macaron is a must try.

America’s Test Kitchen paid worshipful tribute to Lakota’s Florentine Lace Cookies, and with good reason. Lakota is cookie nirvana. Lakota is just cookies, and you need to budget some time to make your selection from amidst the display case filled with yummy varieties. When we visit friends and bring dessert, we need to stop at Lakota because they really look forward to these yummy cookies!

Omg. These cookies are seriously dangerous. I could eat a whole box. Once you eat one you can’t stop, they are that good. I am actually thankful I don’t live closer because it would become an addiction.

I read a review long ago in the Boston Globe that the woman running Lakota was dissatisfied with store cookies so she started tinkering with recipes until she arrived at a cookie she liked. According to the story, she ended up doubling the butter and halving the sugar, which led to a tender crumb and a rich flavorful cookie. This woman, she knows things. She understands how things work. That was over 10 years ago that I found my spiritual cookie sister. I never miss an opportunity to stop by Lakota when I’m in the area. I used to think florentines were weird, dry, gross cookie versions of fruitcake, but in her hands they are chewy, caramelly plates of goodness dipped in a flawless chocolate. I get ATMINIMUM6 florentines when I go to Lakota, because usually only 3 make it home. Every other cookie is sweet perfection too, from the macaroons(an almond pouf cakey-cookie covered in an almond flavored chocolate ganache and half-dipped in chocolate) to the hazelnut shortbread to the traditional chocolate chip or chocolate ginger cookies– EVERYCOOKIEHEREWILLBLOWYOURMIND, DOYOUUNDERSTAND? Bring your cash and your wishes, because you can buy a piece of your dreams in cookie form at Lakota Bakery.
