So if you are looking for a casual summer Friday night out outside in low key atmosphere, this is a good spot to hit especially if you are in walking distance. Unfortunately I just found out that this is only five minutes away from my former home. Had a great time with some girlfriends hanging out on the lawn listening to some live music in the background eating some yummy food on a great summer night. We even got pizza delivery from Bricks Pizza there. Lol.

This is a lovely park. I love all the rough terrain and creek that flows through here. It’s a huge walking trail behind a neighborhood. All trees, rocks, a creek follow this long path that makes you feel like you’re in a dense forest when in realityn you’re only in someone’s backyard… or technically down hill from them. All in all, it is very quaint and scerene. I enjoyed my walk and checking this area out.

Lubber Run is a beautiful park throughout the seasons, and a quiet getaway from awful Arlington. Bring your dog and go for a walk, or jog through before work. You can even host a get-together at the covered picnic area(we saw a baby shower here once.) The stream is so peaceful, and you might even see the ducks. If you haven’t seen Lubber Run, you’re missing out. And it really is gorgeous any time of the year.

Had the chance to go here last night with Boyfriend and the dog. This is a really lovely park. Although you can see houses just above, it feels remote, and the sounds of traffic(like on 50) are pretty removed. The trees are just starting to turn now, so there’s an extra perk. Inside the park are some picnic areas, including one pavilion, restrooms, an amphitheater, and a neat(and huge) fire ring. Makes me wonder what kinds of events they used to have there. Also, there are water fountains and several trash cans, which makes it very easy to dispose of your dog’s waste. Five stars for Lubber Park.

Lubber Run is a strangely named but really nice, wooded park that’s great for walking your dog or going for a run/walk on your own. The park has an ampitheater though I don’t know what, if any, performances they have there. There’s also a covered picnic area in the center of the park with tables and benches and a grill right by it. Restrooms are conveniently located by the ampitheater. I really love how peaceful and pretty the park is. There’s a stream flowing through the center of the park and various wide and narrow dirt paths to explore. There are tons of trees in the park so it’s mostly shaded and doesn’t get as hot as the streets, which is really nice during the muggy summer months in DC. Since it’s relatively small and there are several larger parks in the area, the park doesn’t get a lot of traffic. Some days I’ve only seen one or two other people there either walking their dogs or running.
