Absolutely delicious, I’ve had the chicken pita and the steak bowl, both Mediterranean style, since I live close by I will be a regular visitor.

The food is SO delicious and very reasonably priced. I often get the hummus and/or eggplant with a whole wheat pita; a bargain basement dinner that always pleases. I’ve also tried the salads and rice bowls, with excellent results. To my fellow vegetarians — this place loves us. We can build meals based on spicy tofu and enjoy every bite.

While the majority of restaurants in Shirlington are sit-in, this is my quick, cheap bite place. I always pick tzaziki and hummus as sauce(you can pick up to two sauces). They are generous with toppings, and I always add tons of veggie toppings. It’s fast food but you can choose to be healthy.

Food was okay nothing amazing. I ordered the food online and picked up something totally different then what I wanted but they were nice enough for me to order food after closing time.

Good price, cute set up, amazing food. Honestly not seeing a lot of people there when I attended freaked me out a little, because I usually think of a restaurant isn’t packed then it’s bad. This place is wonderful I had the lamb it’s spicy but delicious a nice seasoned balance they have so many great sauces too which are not additionally charged. I can’t wait to go back!

I went back and the manager graciously apologized as I was told there was some miscommunication. Possibly. I’ve been twice after the incident. Each time was yummy. Just don’t order the moroccan spread unless you can handle it.

I loved this place. It is a chipotle like ordering system but for Greek or Mediterranean style food. The guy that helped us out was super helpful and explained the entire process to us. He also let us try the different spreads. They have some delicious spreads: olive tapenade, feta spicy, eggplant, hummus, yogurt, and another tomato Based one. They were delicious and I can see getting a different one each time to change it up. I tasted the pita with steak. He steak was very juicy and well seasoned. All in all, I loved this place and the different toppings and spreads make it so that I can try something different each time. Great rice too!

Cava is WAYYYY better in quality, value and ambience. This is like on par with subway. Im eating it now and its like so bland ugh … save ur 10 bucks. The«grilled balsamic veggies» are sauteed in a giant pot and are underdone. This eggplant is only half cooked. Even the chickpeas are underdone!-__– if this were 5 bucks itd be passable. They need to get a chef in here to redo the food and differentiate the place from similar retaurants. I mean if ur gonna copy a popular chain, at least do it better! Y’all messed up and i envision this place goin out of business ~

I stopped in to grab lunch to go one weekday at about 1:30. There was no wait and I was helped immediately. I am not too familiar with Mediterranean food and was attempting to ask the employees what everything was but it was so loud it was hard to hear. In addition I felt rushed and there just was not a good customer service vibe. The food was good, not great no complaints there. Although I went kind of plain on everything because I could not hear what all of the options were. I would definitely not go out of my way to come here.

Hit this place up while in town for a wedding. I love places that know what their specialties are and stick with those. Rice bowls, pitas and salads. The staff was not all that friendly, however. I seemed like a major inconvenience, especially when I ordered my food to go. There was a large beer festival going on right outside their front door with numerous food vendors. You think that they might appreciate the business. I ordered a lamb pita. I guess I was expecting more like gyro meat, but the lamb was shredded. That was a bummer for me, because I feel that causes it to lose flavor and moisture. On a street where there are numerous options, I doubt that I would frequent this place should I ever relocate to the area.

I came to Shirlington for a beer festival that was happening on this plaza. After we were done with that we wanted something quick to eat and decided on Medi. I am a fan of fast casual places, and this is the same concept as Cava/Chipotle. You start by picking a base, and the choices are brown rice, lemon and mint rice, pita or salad. Then you pick your protein, chicken, lamb, tofu, steak. I liked that they had tofu as an option. You get to pick 3 dips. If you pick on of the hot dips they have get tzaziki as well, balances it out. And you can pick as many of the toppings as you want, the sweet peppers and onions was really good. A good place for a quick healthy option for lunch.

Medi is the less exciting, more expensive Roti/Cava. I ordered the lamb pitz the morrocean way with a soda and pita chips and sauce for $ 16. Steeeep for lunch. The 17 spice stuff is good, but I prefer other place’s harissa sauce more for the heat. The amount of lamb was good and the lamb was very juicy(be warned about dripping). The toppings are more limited than cava and no labels I suppose because they want you to adhere to their set combos so I didn’t select my own like I do at other places. I don’t know, color me unimpressed.

Discovered this place while walking around the Shirlington plaza/area. Very clean and modern w/some nautical décor. Surprisingly great food… almost like a Chipotle type operation where you chose your style(bowl, Pita), meat, greens, and other sides/dressings/toppings. Got the both the bowl and pita for our order. The lamb was delicious and just spiced right. They had a great selection of sauces/dressing from tzatziki to spicy feta; and a few others(mild to very spicy).

Like the food which mimics the fast casual model of fresh made food on an assembly line and in many ways is better than some of its peers. Where they lose me though is that you get nickle and dimed on the menu. Want steak or lamb? Add $ 1.45. Want some tzatziki on the side for your pita chips? Add $ 2.50 for a tiny little plastic container not worth $ 0.50 at best. I get that some ingredients cost more than others and add ons like hummus should come at a cost, but at very least they should be worth the cost. For $ 3.50 I can get several pita and a large container of hummus for the price Medi wants to charge you for a small cup. A chicken pita with pita chips and tzatziki was going to cost me more than $ 12. For that price I can go down the street and get table service with free bread service, entrée and a drink.

When you’re planning on gorging on popcorn at the movies after dinner, a salad is the perfect option. At Medi you can keep your meal reasonably healthy by asking for lettuce as a base for your bowl. There are 3 different lettuce options and all looked very fresh. I went for mixed baby greens. I kind of wish I could have gotten a little rice as well, but it seems to be an either/or deal: rice or salad as the base. But that’s okay; more popcorn as my carbs! You then have a variety of options of veggies and toppings as well as meat or tofu. There is no falafel though, unfortunately. I guess I just expected there to be. So I got the chicken, which was very flavorful. The steak looked good, too. If you’re not a tofu fan but don’t want meat, you could easily skip the meat and load up on all the other toppings and still have a fantastic meal. They have some craft beers as well as your usual fountain soda options. And the iced tea is a blend of black tea, rooibos and some other flavors. Sounds awful to me, but Jeff got it and it wasn’t too bad. Sometimes a person just wants a plain iced tea, but if you’re up for something a little different, try theirs.

Quick, cheap(comparably), place to eat! Atmosphere: very blue! reminds you of Chipotle or Shop House. We took our food to go. Food: Pretty good. I had the Medi Rice with Steak. You can choose 3 sauces — I had the eggplant, spicy feta and olive tapenade and different vegetable toppings of your choice(no limits on veg I don’t think). This was good but I think I would want to switch up the sauces, it was good to have all the vegs since I love trying everything. Next time I will switch it up to Tzaziki instead of the feta since there was feta cheese topping to choose from. It was a good dinner portion for me. But don’t expect to have leftovers it’s not a big portion by any means. My husband had the special — Medi Gyritos which was delicious! 3 taquito type rolls with tzaziki dipping sauce but the portions were super tiny. I can probably eat two plates of these. Service: Ok – they weren’t «chick fil a friendly» but service was fine. Overall: 4⁄5 Good place if you are in a pinch for time or $$ in a very expensive neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious fast casual Mediterranean spot. I actually prefer it over Cava(which many compare it to) because their rice and meats are much tastier. I come here every chance I get, service is fast and friendly and the food is to die for. Shirlington is lucky to have this spot, most food is severely sub-par there with the exception of Carlyle. So glad I tried it!

I came here on Saturday with a few friends from out of town. I have recently fallen in love with the Shirlington neighborhood and the amazing food options around there. Parking is super easy and free in the Shirlington garage. In addition, it’s right off the highway so it makes it easy to get to so quickly. Think of Medi as a fresh food fast type of place. I ordered a chicken pita with all the fixings on it – and they don’t limit you. You can literally pack in as much stuff as you want and there isn’t an extra charge. I got olives, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, tzasiki sauce, feta, and probably a few more things I can’t remember(see picture for details). My sandwich was super fresh and they warm up the pita for you. This place is definitely worth the trip. In addition, they are a Belly store so you can redeem points using the Belly app straight from your phone. I love this because rewards will keep you coming back. This place is great.

I was hungry and moody. I checked Unilocal right away and found this place. This place was empty inspire of the high rating. Other restaurants were packed because they have tables outside too. So this restaurant has only tables inside and no bathroom. I ordered a pita with tons of vegetables and lamb and a spicy sauce. It was delicious. The meat was juicy and tender. The sauce was not too spicy but perfect. Fresh vegetables that I really missed. Pita was fresh and warm. It was about $ 11. It was big but I hope a little bit cheaper. The interior is cool beach style. Pretty clean. The staff was good enough. I’d like to try their special rice next time. Don’t forget check in on Unilocal and get 10%off:)

Imagine a middle eastern place served in a chipotle style matter, that’s what you get when you come to Medi. Thanks to the belly card I got a free pulled pork pita sandwich. I had it stuffed with veggies and sauces, I ended up regretting it a little since the flavor was overwhelming and the toppings were all fighting to dominate one another. The food kept falling out so that didn’t help either. The rule of less is more should be practiced here, folks. I would say the pita is passable, not amazing food but not terrible either. I could see it as a good lunch spot or a place to grab a quick bite.
