I was referred to Dr. Michael Colasanto by my general dentist for periodontal disease. I am one of those people who absolutely hates going to the dentist, especially if there are needles involved, but after my recent experience with Dr. Colasanto and his staff, I can say for the first time that I am not fearful of going to the dentist. Dr. Colasanto and his staff immediately recognized that I was very nervous and his friendly front office person, Christine, was very helpful and reassuring as I filled out the paperwork. Dr. Colasanto, himself, was very communicative and gave me a thorough explanation of my treatment options. He answered all of my questions and he even took the time to let me know what my insurance covers and what is out of pocket so that I am not surprised by an unexpected bill. I guess they had called my insurance ahead of time when I provided the information to them. Who does that these days? I think what I was the most impressed by his office is that Dr. Colasanto took the time to explain everything to me in language I understood and he did not try to jam all of these expensive treatments down my throat like some dentists had done to me in the past. He even gave me a written pre-treatment plan and also sent it to my general dentist. The procedure itself was so not scary! Dr. Colasanto was very gentle and told me everything he was going to do before he started doing it. This took away my fear of not knowing what was going to happen to me next — and even that hated needle was much more tolerable. My procedure is now finished but I am definitely going to refer my friends and family to Dr. Colasanto for periodontal care. I even went back and thanked my general dentist for referring me.
