Move on Demand

Short summary:
If you don’t have to put anything in storage, then they are an okay company. If you need for them to place your items in storage first, do NOT use them!
Long story:
We moved from Dallas to Houston but had them hold our stuff until our house was finished being built. When picking up the items, the workers were very generous and careful with wrapping and loading our stuff. When we received our stuff (10 hours later than what was scheduled. Woke up early in the morning waiting for them and didn’t show up until the evening. No phone call from them saying that they are running late. I had to call them twice to get a status update), some of the wrapping came off (in particular our mattress, which is now dirty, which we spent hours cleaning because the mattress was about 2 months old). We noticed footprints on our desks and tables. We had broken mirrors and frames. And of course, some of our things didn’t make it (shop vac, mirror, tools, etc.). I contacted them and they sent me $ 100 to replace some of the items that they lost. They told me that they found my shop vac and they told me that they would ship it to me. Now they won’t answer my emails! The $ 100 that they sent me didn’t cover the shop vac and a lot of other items, but it was something!
The guys who delivered my things were okay. They both were eating sunflower seeds while unloading and left shells all over my driveway which also made their way into my house. They were also courteous and careful, but not careful enough. They put cracks and indentations in my new hardwood flooring with their dolly and put a nice crack in my new ceiling because one of the guys almost fell through. I showed the workers, took pictures, and emailed them to Brandon /​Bethany. Of course they didn’t want to pay for the repairs.
Overall, it’s probably better to pay the higher price for the more well-​known companies. If I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn’t hire them. Of course, communication in the beginning is great when they are trying to get your business, but afterwards, it’s not very good.
BTW, they made me pay before they unloaded my items. I think they knew that they «lost» and damaged some of my belongings!
