Went for a polish on my nails while in town for work. First, it’s underground which the description might not be obvious for out of towners. Nail tech was very nice but did a sloppy job. Also, the lady with red hair that greets and checks you out was short(not stature!) and cold. Idk, it’s a spa, be nice and welcoming. Especially since I was the only customer there in the middle of the day.

I went in yesterday for a quick wash, blow dry, curl AND an eyebrow wax. the stylist did both wonderfully. I usually get bumps from eyebrow waxing… not this time… she massage my eyebrows. She washed my hair in a massaging /accupressure style, too! Love this stylist… wish I could remember her name…

I’ve been to many barber shops and salons in my day and nobody takes better care of their clients than Nahid. She spends a lot of time with me to make sure she understands exactly what I want done and she is meticulous about delivering good results. I feel well taken care of from the moment I walk in to the moment I leave. I’m even offered water, tea or wine while I am there. Unfortunately, I’m usually there mid-day so I’m unable to take advantage of the wine. I highly recommend Nahid and her salon to other guys and gals looking for a great place to get their hair did.

I use Nahid’s Salon strictly to see Virginia for all my bikini related waxing needs. She is amazing and I refuse to go anywhere else.

I have only been here for bikini waxes(ouch!), but even if they were awful at everything else this is a five star joint. Reason #1: Virginia is a miracle worker. I have terribly sensitive skin, and as a result have ended up with every possible complication that comes with a bikini wax. But, as soon as I went to Virginia she could tell me exactly why I had these previous problems, what needed to be done, and what to avoid. She is an integumentary genius. Ever since, my skin has been top notch and worry-free. Reason #2: The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I think I have gotten lost every time in that crazy underground maze that is Crystal City, and every time there is someone willing and helpful answering the phone to guide me step-by-step. You will pay a pretty penny for Virginia’s services, but it is worth every cent. After all, you don’t want to go cheap for a waxing, right?

I signed up after purchasing a Nahid’s Capitol Deal($ 50 for $ 25 of massage services). I’ve been treating my neck and upper back pain with therapeutic massage for over ten years, but the massage I received was clumsy, unfocused, and completely overpriced. I scheduled a one-hour deep tissue massage. The massage therapist basically spent the entire time heating up a wet towel in the microwave on the table next to me and then aggressively rubbing a part of me with it(no massage – just stroking back and forth). I would estimate that literally half of the massage consisted of this easy«towel technique.» It was also apparent that she had no professional training – it kind of felt like a disinterested boyfriend essentially«making up» a massage. It was uneven(she lightly rubbed one side of my upper back and then somehow forgot the other side, instead moving to my legs? It honestly seemed like she ran out of «things» to do at one point. I wanted to get up and leave. I asked her a few times if this was the«deep tissue» massage, and she said yes, and then would randomly poke parts of me harder. This was uncomfortable, embarassing, and unprofessional. Honestly, even though the entire massage cost me only $ 55, I feel like Nahid’s ripped me off.

This review is only regarding the pedicure I got here. Other services may be much better. I had a very similar experience Gail Z. has for the Milk & Honey Mani/Pedi for $ 40 on Specialicious. I opted the Manicure and just did the pedicure with a wax treatment worth $ 15. The Manicurist was Rosalie. Pros: She was friendly. offered extra services in exchange for the manicure very convenient, for everyone in crystal city clean looking salon Cons: She was Not experienced. Just put the Milk & Honey scrub, no scrubbing was conducted. she was not detail oriented, paint on cuticles, is not expected at a professional place, Thought it was rather expensive for the service provided Limited selection of nail polish colors no massage of any kind was conducted had to redo nail paint, as she kept on messing them up hurt my feet trying to scrub the dry skin, like she has never done it before. all in all, do not waste your time by going here for nail services.

Laura Martinez is the best stylist. She talks to you about styles, color, etc. She is creative, artistic and so wonderful to work with. My hair looks amazing! When she does my hair, people stop me and say, wow, your hair looks great, where did you go. I highly recommend the Nahid’s Salon, especially Laura! Credit cards accepted but not on tips.

Love Virginia! Got a Brazilian. It was quick and as fun as a wax can be… Virginia makes it nice. I’m going to go there again.

I went to Nahid’s for deep conditioning treatment and got a mani/pedi as well. Laura did an excellent job on both. The polish did not flake and stayed nice looking for almost 2 weeks. I chose a light polish on both and was totally satisfied. It was worth the price. She took her time and did a very good job.

This review is talking specifically about nails. I had my eye brows done by Virginia and she is a great job. I had a terrible exprience when it came to getting my nails done. I noticed Shellac products on their shelf and asked to get the nail treatment done. I have read a lot about Shellac and it’s supposed to look like a fresh manicure for 2+ weeks. It costs a lot more than a manicure, but if it will last longer, it seemed worth it. The girl who did mine clearly had not done it before as someone at the salon explained to her right before I had them done, how to do it. I would rather than say it was unavailable then have someone unexperienced do it. It did not look nice when it was finished. I called and came back the next day where another tech tried to clean it up around the edges. It looked better, but I could tell the paint was starting to come up around the edges. Less than a week later, full chunks of the polish came off. This polish is supposed to be difficult to come off, yet mine came off like nothing. I called the store again and they told me to come in. The person I spoke to wasn’t in, but they had me on the schedule and I got a plain manicure. Since the person wasn’t there who I spoke to, I felt bad not paying and shelled out another $ 20. I am just realizing how stupid that was on my part. Here my manicure that was supposed to last 2 weeks, didn’t last, and I just gave them another $ 20 of my hard earned money. I cannot speak to their hair, and once again the waxing was very good… but stay away from the nails.

Virginia is amazing. She was quick and very supportive. I got an eyebox wax and a brazilian and was out of there in 20 minutes. The procedure was as painless as possible and she gave great advise about guarding against ingrown hairs. I’m a new regular

So you read reviews on Unilocal and when you try out a new salon, especially a new esthetician for Brazilian waxing, you just never know what you are really getting yourself into… but let me tell you Virginia is GREAT!!! She is fast, friendly, sweet, and talkative(and trust me you need the distraction). She is quick, but she makes sure she is precise. I would have to agree with another commenter and say she is a waxing goddess!

I can’t imagine anyone being a better esthetician than Virginia. She is friendly and very understanding of the nervousness that preceeds one’s first waxing experience. She was like a cheerleader the entire way through, which took about 20 minutes, and paused when I made a particularly interesting face and encouraged me that I was a gold star client. She was full of advice for maintaining one’s wax, and made an intensely uncomfortable experience as painless as possible. I will definitely become a regular at Nahid’s, just for her. They give 10% off your first visit, and if you refer friends there are other incentives as well. It normally costs about 60 $ for a brazillian wax, which I think is reasonable without being so cheap that’d I’d question the quality. They’ll be running specials for spa week! It is a little difficult to find if you are using the GPS on your iphone. Mine told me to go into the Crystal City Mall on 18th St. Actually, they are closer to 23rd, across the way from McDonalds(underground).

Where should I begin? This place is terrible, my wife went to have her hair done here and here is her first hand account: The Ordeal: The hairdresser spent over four hours on my hair and screwed it up so bad. I don’t think he knew what he was doing, he totally screwed up my hair cutting it too short(I have long hair) and it was still soaking wet when I left. It looked like a disaster. The Confrontation: When I left the hairdresser(who was a male) started screaming at me because I told them they screwed up my hair and I didn’t want to pay, it was soaking wet, cut too short, and looked like a disaster. The male hairdresser continued to scream at me until the owner came out and told him to shut up. The owner then told my wife that she would restyle, blowdry, and highlight her hair if she came back in a few days, but to pay $ 55 for the haircut. My wife reluctantly agreed due to the hostile circumstances in the salon. The Resolution Absolutely none. My wife called the owner of the salon to get her hair cut again and have highlights put in. She said she’d be charged. I called her to try to resolve this situation. She was uncooperative and said she’d be charged. My wife disputed the charges on her debit card, and because she put it on a debit card the owner was able to keep the $ 55(I guess she disputed it too). A very bad salon, and a dishonest owner — I urge everyone to steer clear of this place.

This is THE place for waxing in Crystal City. The treatments are gentle and the rooms are plush and comfortable. Ask for Virginia — she’s truly a waxing goddess and very sweet — it is almost fun to go get waxed! They take walk-ins but appointments are probably preferred. Credit cards are accepted but tips need to be in cash.

When I need a toe polish change or a quick manicure, I head to Nahid’s. The staff is very friendly, if occasionally a bit unkempt, each pedicure station has a massaging chair, and the salon is brightly lit and spacious. They also offer surprisingly gentle waxing treatments. Convenience is definitely the reason I keep going back. Nahid’s is located seconds from my office, and almost always has late afternoon appointments available. Not outstanding, but more than adequate if you’re in a rush.
