They forgot my meal. I have been there many times and it was awesome, but for some reason they forgot my order. After thirty minutes I finally went up to check on my order and the young lady said that my order has been delivered. I did not have enough time for them to make my order because my lunch break was almost over, so I left hungry. I will still give a 4 star rating because their cheese steaks are wonderful.

Hungover are ye? In need of some unhealthy grease, meat, cheese, and bread to throw in the whole war engine that is you to keep powering on through a DC social booze powered lifestyle? Look no further friends, the folks here will offer your wayward ship safe harbor from uncertain and stormy seas of hangoverness. The steak n cheeses here are the best in the Rosslyn/Courthouse area, of that I have no doubt as I have crawled, searched, and thrived in search of the best of the best. Of course that sounds good to you, but that’s not all folks, you, YESYOU can also order tater tots to go along with your cure. My one bit of advice, if you go during lunch be careful with parking, as I was leaving there was a shouting match between gentleme… I mean savages… complete with f bombs and hostile feelings. During the holidays no less. It is in their spirit that I sign off, Merry F’n Christmas to you all, I hope this gift of a review will give you f’n joy and mutha f’n merriment.

Three stars on the steak and cheese, 2 stars on everything else!!! Their take on the steak and cheese IMO Is a definite improvement. I love a sandwich that first is balanced(bread to filling ratio), and that is also has some good weight to it. I ordered the shock G… it has to have been a great sandwich because it was gone in a matter of seconds. I personally do not really enjoy Michael Landrums establishments but again it has to be about the establishments not a personal reflection of the owner. Back to the sandwich the meat on the sandwich was perfectly ntact which gave it it’s delightful texture. It is in fact a steak that is tenderized with the spatula(instead of scraping the meat like a Philly cheesesteak, you will hear them clamp down on the meat and not shread the meat). It really makes the sandwich

Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in awhile… and I love me some sandwiches! Located in the same spot as Ray’s Hell Burger Too, Nice ‘N’ Greasy Steak ‘N’ Cheesy definitely lives up to it’s name. I ordered the Shock G, added some groove grease(spicy mayo), and shared a side of fries. This sandwich packed 1/3lbs of nicely cut steak that was tender, flavorful, and juicy… you could tell that the quality of the meat was up there. Cheddar and provolone cheese was melted to ooey gooey perfection. The thinly chopped onions that were sauteed and seasoned well. The bread was nicely toasted and the groove grease added a little spice(although I’d prefer that it would be spicier). This sandwich is pretty big. When I tried to close it, I immediately saw where the greasy and cheesy came into play when my bread immediately broke and I had grease/cheese dripping down my arm. Did I mind?! Hell no… this steak and cheese was yummy! The side of fries(skin on) was okay, nothing to rave about. If you love you some steak and cheese, I’d suggest ordering the Biggie which comes with double the meat! Not feeling a cheesesteak? Nice ‘N’ Greasy Steak ‘N’ Cheesy offers other sandwiches and burgers as well.

I was worried I had spent $ 10 on a sandwich I could get for $ 5 in a mall food court. Good lord were my fears quickly quashed. I am aware a steak and cheese(what this place serves) is theoretically different than a cheese steak(think Philly cheese steak), its really that I just don’t care. This is objectively better… at least to me… which makes it subjective… ok its subjectively better. This place grills an actual steak, chops it up and puts it on a bun… perhaps in a different order than that, I really wasn’t watching the kitchen. There is no odd textured, paper-thin, mystery steak. That quality alone makes this place well worth it. I stopped by on a lunch, and the place had a steady steam of customers. The wait for food was not long. I was sitting alone, but even if there were people with me, I wouldn’t have been very social with that sandwich in my hands. Their signature side is tater tots, but they also have the same sides as Ray’s Hell Burger(from what I understand Ray’s Hell Burger 2 still operates out of the same space). They have soda and beer in bottles, and you definitely need something refreshing to wash down the super rich sandwich. The place is relatively new. From what I remember it opened up just before summer and they used to have a sheet of paper with«Cheese Steak Now Open» written with Bic pen taped to the front door. I used to think perhaps it was a front for the mob. They are slowly getting more and more set up with stuff like signage and seating. They still need a good sign for the front of the building though. They will quickly get bumped to 5 star rating once I don’t feel slightly questionable about going in(I had no idea if the place was even open when I arrived).

Steak and cheese was awesome. This sandwich was much better than Ray’s first attempt at steak and cheese. Flavorful, perfectly Cooke and greasy without being too greasy. I still prefer the Hellburger but I will go back for the steak and cheese.

4.25 stars. Remember that scene in Donnie Darko where Drew Barrymore’s character claims that of all of the different permutations in the English language, the phrase«cellar door» is considered the most beautiful? Well, that’s how I feel about this place and restaurant names. It is impossible to come up with a better name for a restaurant. I won’t hear any rebuttal arguments. You are wrong; Michael Landrum is right. Really, everything you need to know about the steak and cheese sandwiches offered here has been fully covered by Justin C. in his original review of the now defunct Ray’s Steak and Cheese: . It’s definitely worth a read(and it is comedy gold to boot). In case it gets pulled, just know that the meat clumps of top sirloin and prime rib are tasty, they are cooked directly on the griddle with provolone and cheddar, and there is nothing that should make you think about the city of Philadelphia when eating this sandwich. Although I didn’t try it on this visit, I’m curious to try the lobster, shrimp, and crab burger priced at what appears to be an absurdly low $ 9.99. A friend of mine also spoke positively about a Southern fried chicken sandwich topped with swiss and bacon. In other words, the only other ascertainable change in this iteration of Ray’s Steak and Cheese is a few additional menu items for people who(foolishly?) eschew the steak and cheese in favor of alternative meat sources. If you are on the fence, remember the name: Nice N Greasy Steak N Cheesy. How can you NOT want to eat at a place with such a great name? Seriously, if that isn’t a draw for you, you should probably stop eating altogether. You don’t deserve it.

The name says it all. These are not«Philly» Cheese Steaks, but they definitely are not short on fine meat, creamy cheese and all the other essentials. Order some tots and an Old Dominion Root Beer to round out the meal…

Back from the dead! I was quite disappointed that this latest addition to the Ray’s yummy food empire opened and closed while I was overseas. It seems to be worth the wait(apparently Ray was tuning his menu at Rays to the Third before turning his attention back to this place). Currently offering a small menu(2 types of steak and cheese, one regular that is quite filling and another with twice the meat), 2 sides and a slider version of the regular hellburger. But, with food like this, who really needs to add more? Yeah, I ordered the cheesesteak(really quite tasty), both the tater tots(crispy on the outside, moist and cooked on the inside) and the onion fries(crispy cut up onion rings). The cheesesteak has 1⁄3 of a pound of sliced meat, grilled onions, American and Provalone cheese all on a toasted bun. It was a solid 8″ of food that left me full well into the next day. These were aided with the sliders that I shared with my fiancé, which were called«Little Minions» and were basically mini-Hellburger’s with cheese and a dab of the heck sauce. I look forward to coming back again(this place actually feels more like a value than the Hellburger. I think I get more for my money with the steak and cheese than I do with the burger).
