I have been coming here for a little over a month and have to say that I have tried over half of the menu. The food is awesome. You won’t find a bad plate on the menu. I love the chicharron de pescado encebichado, lomo saltado, and my absolute favorite the pescado a lo macho that plate is food porn on steroids! Great service which is not normal for a Peruvian restaurant. I highly recommend this place as quality is the mantra!

I am no expert on Peruvian food, but I have heard that they grill beef heart and serve it on skewers, so I was curious. When we looked over the menu I didn’t see them, so I asked our enthusiastic and cheerful waiter what to try. He recommended what turned out to be basically potato croquettes. Really GOOD potato croquettes. After we ordered, I asked the waiter about the beef heart thing and he said they DID have it, but it was only labeled as «anticuchos» because they didn’t want to scare people off it. Alas. Now I know. My son got some kind of yellow-colored stew which he reported was super-tasty though it looked kind of gross. I got a bizarre combination of tempura & ceviche which tasted like nothing I’d ever had before, but was also really excellent. The whole thing was sprinkled in some kind of whitish cream-like sauce that looked like milk, but tasted vinegary. If you want the same old thing, it’s not here. If you are adventurous, it’s the culinary equivalent of ziplining through an alien landscape. Fun and surprising and maybe a little scary. Everything tasted amazing. Now I am sad that Nusta’s is almost an hour from my home, meaning I will not be able to eat there as often as I’d like.

I wish I could go five stars, but we all know how selfish I am. With that in mind, Unilocal needs to allow half stars because I would definitely go 4– ½ starting with the service, which was outstanding. Our server, Ryno, was very knowledgable about the menu and was very attentive. After seeing some of the photos on here, I mistakenly thought they served grilled octopus. When I questioned Ryno, he brought the co-owner, Elicio, to our table to question if perhaps they had ever had a special. No, however … The chef would be more than happy to create something! Wow! What came out of the kitchen was more than expected! Grilled baby octopus in a beautiful, smooth, slightly spicy gualillo chili sauce accompanied by Peruvian corn(don’t mistake this for hominy … It’s not!) and a few potatoes. My friend had never had octopus other than deep fried rings so this was a first for her. We almost fought over the last one but there was plenty so we split it and told Elicio that he definitely needed to add the dish to his appetizers. From there we shared the camarones al aji(excellent!) and the seco de res(don’t expect much cilantro). The seco was extremely salty but after commenting to both Ryno and Elicio, the dish was returned to the kitchen and actually tasted by the chef(I was impressed). It was then«repaired» and an entire new plate was served, even though I had insisted that it would be more food than I could eat at that point(my husband is now enjoying it for dinner!). Dessert. On the house, we were served a small taster of shortbread cookies with a warm jam-pudding that is usually served with rice pudding. I was thinking it would be wonderful over ice cream. In the meantime, I had already ordered the chocolate cake and flan, which was quite an interesting combination. The flan was not too sweet which really played off the sweetness of the chocolate cake. I’m not sure how they bake this together in a single dish but they do. And it works. It works really well! Bottom line, I will definitely go back because there are so many dishes on the menu I still need to try. Thanks to the wonderful service and the tasty food, Nusta’s Café has almost made my 5-star rating. I’m giving it 4– ½ even though Unilocal won’t let me!

One of our neighbors posted a recommendation for this restaurant a week or so back on Nextdoor. Today, my wife and I finally stopped by and are we glad we did. If you like flavor, you will get it. The restaurant is comfortable and the staff is friendly. We had what is called a Business Lunch which was a great bargain. It consists of 3 courses and costs $ 15.99. Today, my wife and I both had the Causa Crocante for an appetizer. My wife had Arroz con Pollo and I had Aji de Gallina for main courses and we both had an off the menu dessert called Chocoflan. Every single dish was outstanding and full of amazing flavors. The meal was paced perfectly. I even tried a Peruvian beer. We will definitely go back to try other menu items and we won’t hesitate to take our friends there. We only hope it survives. It is in the ring of buildings that face Plano Parkway on the Collin Creek Mall property. Unfortunately for the restaurant, it faces Collin Creek Mall so it has no exposure to Plano Parkway. In my opinion, this restaurant deserves to be successful. It has only been open two months so business is slow. We did meet a man in there for lunch who was eating there for the third time. The restaurant has a full bar, at least one very good Peruvian beer, and a limited selection of wines. Go! Try it! If you enjoy fresh, flavorful food, this is your place.

First time here. One word. Outstanding. Our family of six had all different plates and all six were delicious. My wife is from Peru and she states the food is authentic. If you want to try something different from the same old BBQ or Mexican food. You got to come here.

Very good! My husband is Peruvian; therefore I get homemade Peruvian food from his mother and this food is just as good. Nice restaurant with classy decorations. Very attentive staff. I saw the owner go by every table to ask how their meal was. My husband even commented on how good it was, especially the ceviche. He said he hadn’t had ceviche like that in a long time. I would also recommend the dessert that was ½ chocolate cake and ½ flan. Very yummy! We will definitely return.

A buddy and I went there on a Tuesday night. They’ve only been open for 2 months, and the place was quiet. We had amazing service from Elicio(one of the owners) as well as our server. I had zero experience with peruvian food, so wanted to explore. We tried a peruvian beer(meh), and then had their version of ceviche. Very different from what I’m used to– thick pieces of white fish that had been marinating in the back for a long time. Flavors were fantastic; portion was more like an entrée. No crackers or bread with it; it’s just a big plate of fish. For entrees, I had a seafood stew and my friend had lomo saltado. He doesn’t eat beef, so they swapped shrimp for him. The flavors of the lomo saltado were amazing; when I come back, I’m having the regular beef version of this. My seafood stew was interesting and good. I tried a pisco sour, and that is a seriously dangerous drink. Delicious and potent. We liked it so much that we asked Elicio how to make one, bought a bottle of Pisco Porton, and made our own later. Not as good as his, but still really tasty. For dessert, the chocolate cake/flan combo was amazing. We tried the passionfruit ice cream thing but it didn’t do much for us. Amazing hospitality; great food. I will definitely be back. Good date night place.

My husband is Peruvian and we have tried every Peruvian restaurant in the metroplex. So far, this is one of the best ones. We loved our food, it has a little twist from how traditional dishes are presented and plated. A big plus I haven’t seen before in a Peruvian restaurant is the large variety of drinks. My husband and I had a sangria. However, service was slow and it took a long time to get our appetizers, main dishes, and the check(the restaurant was packed on a Sunday afternoon). Other than that we have found our new spot.

A hidden gem. Wonderful food, caring service. The owner stops by our table and makes suggestions. All four of us cleaned our plates. We will be back. I hope it does well at this location. Everyone should try this place.

Being first-generation Peruvian, I was excited to learn that a Peruvian restaurant had been opened in Plano! Unlike some of the other Peruvian restaurants I have been to, Nusta’s had quite a variety and almost every known delicacy of Peru. Especially my favorite, anticuchos. As far as deserts, I am not big on flan but there chocolate cake/flan was out of this world. The interior was lovely and the staff were warm and welcoming. I will definitely be going back and taking part in my heritage the best way I know how, and that is through Peruvian food and sipping pisco sours.

Loved it here, great food. Had the stew which had lots of seafood and the broth was to die for. I had to stop eating it or explode. Great service, atmosphere, will be back!

This little place is definitely a hidden gem. Dark, well decorated, and great ambience. They brought out some baby empanadas, on the house, and they were amazing! My mom is Chilean and I know my empanadas. The beans are really really good too. The salmon was a large portion, and the sauce they serve with it is very interesting and delish. Above all-the service was exceptional. We had a waiter Named Ryno(ray-no) and he totally went out of his way to make our meal enjoyable. Will definitely return.

I loved everything about this restaurant! My friend and I started with the Papa Rellena, complimentary from the chef, and it was delicious. I drank the Chica Morada, which I had never tried before and it is so refreshing and delicious. I ordered the Seco de Res and it was pretty good, but I really loved the dish that my friend ordered the Aji de Gallina; I could eat that everyday and never get tired of it. Because I can’t resist I tried a purple rice pudding dessert as well, but I can’t remember the name of it. It was delicious as well. This place is such a great find; makes me wish that I lived closer so that I could eat there more often(I’m 40 minutes away).

Absolutely the BEST Peruvian restaurant in DFW at the moment. As a Peruvian I’ve been frustrated for years at the lack of truly truly delicious authentic Peruvian food. Well folks, we finally have a spot that is not only modern but the food is fantastic. The aji de gallina is by far the closest I’ve ever had to moms. I absolutely recommend this place. Two thumbs way up!

Not bad! Popped in here recently for lunch and enjoyed the experience. It was pretty dead, which was unfortunate but it was kind tucked away in the shopping center. The inside was nice though and the service was great. I started with the empanada appetizer and it was really tasty. Flaky crust and a ground beef filling with onions and peppers and olives. I would say the menu would be a lot easier to navigate if there were pictures. I’m not very familiar with Peruvian food so even with the dish descriptions it was kind of a crapshoot. A lot of dishes sounded pretty similar as well. I ended up with a dish that I can’t recall the name of and it’s not listed on their online menu. It was asada something or other and had beef medallions and fettucine with basil sauce. It was different but wasn’t anything groundbreaking(the meat was a little tough) It was tasty though and I had enough leftovers for another lunch. I’ll definitely be back for another empanada and to try more stuff off the menu!

First of all the pictures are not updated at all they don’t have tamales and the food looks different at the restaurant we were there for lunch and wait for 2 hours for ceviche and anticucho no only we toll the server we wanted it 3 ceviches he only order 1 then the extremely long wait after 2 hours we end up telling the server to cancel the food and the manager or owner didn’t offer anything he just toll the server to give us the check after 2 hours of waiting the worst experience the ceviche that we try doesn’t have any rocoto at all blend and the anticuchos were over cook
