Pivot Physical Therapy

I came in to Pivot with a plantar fasciitis inury from 7 years ago and never really did much to have it taken care of. Since, I am a business owner and haven’t had much time to get this taken care of until now. I came in not expecting to have much change as far as the pain I was dealing with on a daily basis, but I was willing to do the exercises that the therapist wanted me to do just in case this may actually work. I have to say that I was totally surprised to make a full recovery.
Thanks to Vince, Stuart and the entire Virginia square Pivot team for making the therapy a very enjoyable success for me. I now can run on a regular basis without experiencing any pain. I highly suggest going to Pivot Virginia square if you are dealing with pain and need physical therapy. The entire team are a joy to work with and Vince explained everything so I can understand in layman terms.

Following rotator cuff surgery, when my orthopedic surgeon handed me a list of approved physical therapy clinics, I chose Pivot Physical Therapy. The Virginia Square location in Arlington was convenient for me, but mostly, I just liked the name. «Pivot» was a great description of the movement that I hoped would someday be possible for my newly-​repaired shoulder. While this admittedly wasn’t the most scientific of methods for selecting a clinic, I have never looked back, and I am so glad that I chose this organization!
From day one, the staff was upbeat and encouraging, and their level of professionalism was reassuring at a time when I was not sure that my arm would ever function again. If you are looking for a somber, sterile, impersonal medical-​clinic type of atmosphere, you will not find it here. Background music plays, the therapists chat with each other and their patients, and early on, you might even think this place is just a little too laid-​back, but nothing could be farther from the truth. They are young and energetic and fun to be around. A genuine air of camaraderie and good cheer abounds, but believe me, these people are completely tuned in to what’s going on with their patient-​of-​the moment, and the results they achieve is the proof.
Aaron and Latonya are the welcoming, helpful people who run the desk and keep the office aspect of Pivot running smoothly. And, they are fun to chat with. My therapists were Kim, Ann, Megan and Nicole, and I love them all. I would’ve felt in good hands had I been with any of the other professionals, as well. Everyone here takes pride in their work and it shows. Got questions about what’s going on with your. .. whatever? Just ask, and you will get all of the information you want as to what’s being done and why. If you choose Pivot in Virginia Square, you will be so glad that these people are on your team. They want and respect your input, and they care that you understand what’s being done. You will get to know them very well, and they, you.
After several months of therapy, I am now just about back to normal and nearing the time when my visits to Pivot will be over. At age 72, I know that my recovery from surgery is entirely due to the care and guidance that I received from these great therapists, and I will really miss seeing them. How many people can say that they ever looked forward to physical therapy sessions? Well, I sure did.
At this stage of my life, everything that I do regarding my health is a historical preservation project. I hope that nothing else will start to crumble, but if that happens, I certainly will know where to come for help in putting it back together. It was a lucky day for me when I chose to come to Pivot in Virginia Square, and I highly recommend them to anyone who has been told that they will benefit from physical therapy.

I’ve come here for the past few years for physical therapy to treat injuries like runners knee. Most recently I came for post surgical rehabilitation. I always leave in better shape and with more tools to stay healthy and active despite previous injuries. I’m on track to recover faster than expected and the staff here make an otherwise challenging process fun. Highly recommend coming here if you have injuries or need to rehabilitate after surgery!

I am 64 and have several serious medical issues including neuropathy. It is a cruel and baffling disease for which there is no cure. The constant pain cripples and depresses and angers. Doctors are useless for the most part. But thankfully the folks at Pivot in Arlington are able to provide partial relief through intensive exercising, stretching, and massages. I am grateful to them and admire their diligence, thoroughness and bedside manner. I still hurt but I know they are doing their damndest to relieve my suffering. After 5 or 6 sessions, I count them as friends or family. I have been treated by several physical therapists. Some have been quite good, but Pivot is by far the best by a country mile.
This is a shout out to Anne, my wonderful therapist. At a time and in a city where there is so much self-​absorption and so little empathy, Anne is sadly an endangered species. Anne’s assistants, Megan, who pushes me when I need pushing, Nicole, who provides sartorial counseling as well as exercise instruction, and Young Stewart, who kicks my posterior while chatting me up about our Wizards. are not surprisingly also terrific. I also have been treated by Vincent, who is a true pro and a pleasant guy .Last but not least the receptionist team of Latonya and Aaron are exceptionally competent, organized and warm. (If I have left anyone out, my apologies. But this place is chock full of kind, decent, well-​trained young people.) Their extraordinary care has given me hope that Millenials are OK after all!
If you have pain or aches, if doctors, hospitals and CareFirst are bringing you down, this clinic should be your first and final destination.

Love the team at Pivot in Arlington. Anne H. leads a great team of professionals. I came in after back surgery as I was still having sciatic pain. It was Anne who put all of the puzzle pieces together to determine that it was also my hip that was causing my continued problems. Anne assessed my gait and range of motion. I have been to many other PT offices but they did not take the care, nor have the vast experience that Anne has. She set me up with a routine that not only strengthened my back but also worked on my leg to straighten it further. (That was from meniscus surgery three years ago and I went through 2 rounds of PT and a dynasplint and it was still not great.) Anne diagnosed all of me, not just an isolated body part. She is the first therapist I have had that truly made a difference in my treatment and eventual successful outcome.
The therapists and assistants work as a team to aid in your recovery. They make it a fun place to come (even when it’s hard at the beginning of your healing process.). They encourage you to succeed and notice what you are doing.
Im getting ready for my hip surgery next month and already have my appointments made with Anne. I know I’m in great hands for a successful recovery! (Anne even offered and I accepted her guidance/​expertise to show me exercises and proper methods for sitting, standing and walking up stairs before my surgery.)
I highly recommend this office.

Went to Pivot after my 2^nd ACL surgery, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff there. I Worked primarily with Jackie, Kim and Megan, but all of the staff there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They helped me get through my rehab quickly and smoothly, and was even able to start running less than 3 months after surgery. They’re seriously miracle workers! I actually looked forward to all my sessions there, not just because of the good job they did helping me with my rehab, but because they are all so personable and funny. They’ll joke around with you to help you get through the really tough exercises. Seriously, if you need physical therapy for anything, try these guys out!

Laughter is truly the best medicine.
The staff at Pivot are some of the highest caliber people I have been fortunate enough to meet. Part of their regiment, intended or not, is laughter and it was immensely beneficial to my healing process.
First, management should be lauded for creating a cohesive team that works brilliantly together. My transition from signing in to executing the exercises are never interrupted. Everyone performs like merry little elves in Santa’s Workshop.
Second and most importantly, laughter is abundant here and in my opinion extremely pivotal (see what I did there?) to the recovery process. I walked into Pivot four months ago with a legendary ruptured Achilles tendon. It tore me up not to be able to play rugby for the remaining season. But the optimism and care exhibited by the staff made me forget about my plight. I stopped noticing my injury and started enjoying my training sessions. Now I am getting ready for a spelunking adventure in Iceland.
PIVOT has built a strong team in their Arlington office. The team functions extremely well and have found their groove. Their professionalism, laughter, joy, and pride in what they do is rejuvenating for patients like myself. I highly recommend PIVOT Physical Therapy for mending your legendary ruptured Achilles tendon and a good laugh to help you forget what ails you.
I will be back should I rupture the left one.

ARLINGTON OFFICE — All of these therapists do not pay any attention to the exercises you are doing or are professional at all. They only talk over you to have personal conversations with the other therapists (boyfriends, cooking, vacations). They didnNOT read my prescription for what my doctor sent me in for. I left hysterically crying due to pain. I am in the middle of speaking with the HR department. Please check out another pivot office (I haven’t yet) or GO SOMEWHERE MORE PROFESSIONAL!

Business model must be based on McDonalds. Build franchises is their mantra and clients are the means to that end. Kind of creepy that this type of service would be focused first and foremost on a mandate to expand rather than to provide patients with focused and appropriate rehab.
I think I’ll pivot on over to McDonalds for a Big Mac, no wait, where am I? Under the Golden Arches or in a Pivot PT location? Want Fries w That — shifts to Want Ice With That?

The staff here is very friendly and outgoing, however sometimes (not always) a little too laid back. My physical therapist, Kelly, is awesome, she’s very attentive and listens to what’s bothering me. She definitely cares about what’s going on and always encouraged me to stay positive when she sensed my frustration with my injury.
In terms of my pain and the reasoning for me being there, I’ve been going there consistently 2x a week for a little over a month now. I have experienced some relief from my back pain, however I still have pain and am not able to get back to working out. I feel like at this point I should be experiencing more relief, but I’m also not sure what the normal time frame is for healed back pain. I will most likely keep going for another few weeks and see how it develops.

Was referred to this physio by my doctor. Called and made an appt a week out to allow doctor’s office time to send referral through to them. When I arrived yesterday at 8am for my appointment the receptionist could not find the appointment nor could she find the referral. I called my doctor’s office who confirmed they had an acknowledgement of faxing the referral to Pivot in fairfax drive and I referred to my phone to confirm when I called their office. i asked could I still see Matthew. She sat at her desk and said not sure and made no effort to try to resolve the problem so I left. She then called to say the appointment was next Thursday to which I said I would never have made the appointment for that day as I have an all day event. No confidence in such a disorganized office.

I was referred here from my obgyn since I was having some pain in my right hip area. I was told to do some stretches and exercises to alleviate the discomfort. I would rate them higher except I had been seeing them twice a week (Tuesday’s and Thursday’s) I felt like I didn’t have time to put in any sort of routine to try since every couple of days I would be incorporating a new stretch or so. The last time I went in there she massaged the area that had been hurting but I left to go back to work and could hardly walk. I was definitely in more pain then when I walked in there. I decided at that point that I would call to schedule an appointment if I found it necessary.
