I have heard many terrible things about this place, none of which I have found to be true. Their chili they were serving in the colder months was delicious and spicy, a little too spicy for some but I loved it and ate it pretty regularly. I recently had their«Hot Italian Sub», so far the best Italian sub I have had around here. There was about 4 – 5 people in our group who all ordered it and everybody really enjoyed it. Update: Just had another Hot Italian, it was so good I wanted to cry

DONUTREVIEWONLY. Sort of. Hubby trekked out for the famous Montomery Donuts. Sadly, they no longer exist. Heartbreak.

Awesome place for lunch! I came here today for the first time. I got the pizza special for $ 5.49 which includes a huge slice of pizza, side salad and a small drink. With tax it ended up being $ 6.04. Anyways-their side salad is one of the best side salads I’ve had at a restaurant. A lot if side salads are skimpy with like two pieces of cucumbers and tomatoes. Not here. Ingredients are fresh and you get a lot of diced tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and broccoli. I recommend you try the asian sesame dressing. The pizza is one point-hot, fresh, and huge. Favor is on point as well. For the amount of food and the price you can’t beat this. You’ll leave feeling satisfied. The staff is super nice, interior of the restaurant is very clean. If your looking for a quick lunch spot with fast service I recommend this little spot here!

Nice spot for a slice. The place is clean and the staff is cool. If you are in the area, give this place a shot.

This place is only busy, Monday thru Friday for lunch. No other time will you see more than a few people here. I ordered a regular salad today, told them the 5 items I want and it was mostly a lot of lettuce with few veggies, watered down salad dressing. This place is a major disappointment.

Friendly service, very bad food. I ordered a turkey sandwich off the menu and took it back to my office. When I opened the container there was no turkey, just a low grade gelatin substitute. I am not sure if the lunch meat they serve is fit for human consumption. The previous owner took pride in quality. I can’t imagine ever going back. I would have taken a picture but I threw it away fast to avoid vomiting.

I had my first salad here today and it was wonderful!!! Fresh ingredients, and I love the way they chop it all up for you. Service was on point, the lady even let me taste the dressing! I will definitely be eating here in the future– by far my favorite salad in crystal city!

Average food(pizza, subs, salads). Only place in Crystal City I can think of, though, where you can actually get decent salads outside of the sparse(and slightly overpriced) Chopt locations around the DC metro area. Better than the cafeterias in the area but expectations should be realistic on what you are getting here.

DONUTREVIEWONLY! The urban legend goes that this place bought the recipe from a famous donut shop in Maryland that closed down a long time ago. My boss heard about it and asked me to stop by to get him some donuts since he lives in Maryland and this place is closed on the weekends. So I ventured out to get him and the rest of the office some delicious donuts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem the donuts are that popular because they only had about one dozen donuts. You read that right. ONE dozen. Anyways, I got the glazed, the chocolate and the cake donuts. They are pretty huge! Think about 90% of the of size of Shopper’s donuts. Have you seen those? Good God, they’re like mutant donuts. Back to Slice N Dice donuts review, they are good! They’re VERY fluffy and the dough has a really really good flavor to it. My boss who apparently used to love the original said they taste just like they used to. So if you are one of those people looking for those famous donuts from that famous Maryland donut shop, which name I do not know, look no further. This is your place.

I eat lunch here once or twice a week. Mostly salads but occasionally a slice of pizza(if my wife is reading this, it is extremely rare that I get a slice of pizza. Maybe once a year, tops). I still enjoy the salads and the service is very friendly. At risk of sounding petty, they changed to lower quality salad containers, cups/lids, and plastic utensils. I don’t mind the new salad containers, but the cups and forks are awful quality. The new cups are flimsy and the lids don’t fit. The forks are smaller then they used to be, and they’re really flimsy. Not a big deal… but it makes the salads hard to eat. I understand why they changed to cheaper materials, but it is kind of irritating. Especially when my drink spills out because the lid didn’t seal properly. Sometimes it’s the little things… Still 3 stars.

I think the place is under new management now? Plus — The pizza got better. The slices are larger and the dough is thinner. Closer to be a NY Slice. Negative — The meatball sub quality dropped. They used to have a great meatball sub with what seemed like homemade meatballs dropped in a cored out sub roll. Now you get these tiny Swedish meatball size things that have no flavor and seem store bought. I usually get the pizza, so overall it is a plus, but the meatball sub is what made this place stand out for me.

I’ve been here at least 5 – 6 times. I usually get a cobb salad, customized the way I like it. I like the way they chop the salad up. Sometimes I’ve noticed the staff was not as friendly and seemed impatient. I’m not crazy about their honey mustard dressing, seems more vinegary tasting and not so sweet, kind of flavorless… I prefer something more honey mustard tasting. I also don’t really care for the rolls that come with the salad. They aren’t that great or flavorful in my opinion. I’ve also had their pizza, there are only two choices — pepperoni and cheese. I had the cheese. It was just okay. I guess I just personally prefer Bertucci pizza, which is not doughy and oily. However since the options in the immediate area are limited for a decent salad or pizza, I’m sure I will go back as I always do.

The first time I went two years ago, I thought the pizza was great for the price. Throw in a tower of beer, and I’m in heaven. I was there last year, and the pizza was awful. It looks like the first homemade pizza I made when I was 8 years old. And tasted worse. Bleh. I’d love to support a place like this, but c’mon man, hire a competent pizza maker. I hope its gotten better since.

I’m a big fan of Slice and Dice. I eat there at least once a week. Their Cobb Salad and Kitchen Sink salads are amazing, and cost way less than the same kind of thing at Chopt. Their salads also blow Corner Bakery salads with rubbery romaine lettuce out of the water. Also, there’s rarely ever a line, and in Crystal City, that’s nice because you have to wait half an hour for lunch just about anywhere else in the area. I’ve never had their pizza or sandwiches because I don’t eat wheat, but their salads are phenomenal. I’d have one today, except I already had one yesterday. Maybe I’ll have one tomorrow. Oh, and sometimes my coworkers laugh at me for choosing to eat here, but I laugh at them for buying crappy overpriced salads cobb salads from Corner Bakery. I know mine tastes better!

If you look at my first review, I said that I was disappointed in everything except the donuts, which were awesome. Well, not surprisingly, the donuts have gone the way of the rest of the place. This morning I had to drop off my dry cleaning so I thought I would get a dozen donuts to bring into the office. I went in to Slice N Dice and asked for a dozen donuts. I was struck by the small number of donuts on the shelf at 8:30am. Once I got into the office and tasted one and looked at the others, I now know why. The donuts were old. There is no way these donuts were made fresh today(2⁄17). They were at least a day old and they were very stale. It was a waste of $ 10. Stale donuts are no good. Since they obviously lie about everything being fresh, I would stay far away. It’s sad because I used to think their donuts were very good.

I have only had a couple of their sandwiches, so that’s what my review is strictly about. One piece of advice: go to the nearby Subway instead. Why? 1. It has better bread. Yes, I know, that’s pretty sad. The wheat bread at slice ‘n dice tasted like white. 2. The quality of the veggies seems to be about the same as Subway. 3. Subway is cheaper, although I concede you get more meat at slice n’ dice. 4. Subway has Lay’s, Slice has Utz. Obviously this is just my own personal preference. I really have not been impressed by the sandwiches here. Bland and nothing special. If you’re a big fan of meat and think subway is too skimpy in that department, then perhaps you’ll prefer this place. Otherwise? Save the cash and go to Subway.

You really love to flaunt the whole«500 daily customers» thing. You have those customers because they work in the buildings above, their company pays for their lunches and they are too lazy/not enough time to go many places further. Government employees are comparable to cattle when it comes to food choices. It’s like saying you have 500 goats everyday. Those suckers will eat anything you put in front of them.(so long as it’s covered in butter and/or mayo)
