When I worked near Soho, a phrase began within my work place: «Be better than Soho.» It was a rallying call trying to break our habit of just going to Soho due to lack of better lunch options. Despite that, people put themselves on auto-pilot to Soho for a reason. Soho is a Korean owned café offering a collection of interesting breakfast and lunch options. For both meals, they have a buffet line with dozens of options to choose from including a salad bar. It’s here you can choose to eat comfort foods like mashed potatoes and gravy to more unique foods like Korean fried chicken. If you don’t want the buffet, there’s a fresh hot and cold sandwich station that will make you any sandwich you can imagine. They have fountain drinks and two coolers of tons of drinks from Bai to Honest Tea(woo hoo!). They also have any snack you can imagine from chips to chocolate to candies. Oh, they also have a sushi bar that’s actually surprisingly decent. Warning: If you get the buffet, they weigh your food and that can add up. A bowl of rice then ends up being more expensive than you’d think so stuff your plate wisely.

The food is greasy, but good at times. I usually ignore prices, but the last time I went, it was over $ 7.00 or more per pound. The Asian female cashiers can sometimes be cold faced and quick to throw your receipts in the trash! There are a couple of nice ones, but they are not always at the registers. People tend to walk around looking at food, getting in your way and not buying anything. Or, a couple of people will stand around loitering and just talking. A lot of stores these days are cheap on giving you bacon and it is usually hard. It is best to buy your own and cook it. Sometimes I like this store’s salmon, rice and salad foods. The chicken can be hard as a rock! Of course, you can order sandwiches from women working behind the counter. I may go to this store every few months or when other stores are closed. It seems that they don’t put out lunch food until 11:30 am or later. I hate going there when it is crowded and being around rude people. Eat at SoHo when you have some monies to throw away!

If you find yourself in/nearby the very uneventful tail end of Crystal City, give this place a try. There’s not much you can’t find here; fresh fruit and salad bar, hot and cold buffet, sandwiches and even sushi. I’ve tried quite a bit here as this is unfortunately one of the only decent options near my office and one can only frequent the nearby Quiznos so often. Salad bar is really fresh and decent amount of options. The sandwiches are pretty good, standard deli type sandwiches. The hot and cold bar is also good, but very $$$. I think after 2 or 2:30 it’s discounted if you really want to wait that long. Overall, decent place to eat for lunch but the buffet and salad bar is pricey by the pound.

One of my go-to places for a working lunch! Not bad at all for takeout sushi. The fish is always fresh and the sushi chef makes a decent variety of tasty rolls including some deep-fried options. However, I haven’t seen any unagi which is a bummer cause it’s my fave. For the price and convenience though, you really can’t complain. They charge by weight and I usually get my fill for around $ 10 or less. In comparison to Sushi Garden near 15th street, Soho’s takeout sushi is much more affordable and filling!

They did it to me again! No fried eggs were out for breakfast! Arrived at 0645. :( The next day was much better. Thank you for reading my Unilocal post and having fried eggs available. :)

Quick lunch, buffet with everything… eh. Eat and run, not bad food, just eat and run. Lots of variety, tastes the same as any other buffet style place like this in the city. Cheap eats though.

Not too bad… the selection of food was good, its pretty much your typical Asian buffet although they do have some other things like sandwiches. The buffet also has some non-Asian food also… I had corned beef and cabbage next to my Sweet and Sour Pork, lol. Good place if your in a hurry, you can get in and out quickly.

I cannot recommend the SoHo café. I worked in this building compex and ate here many times over a six month period, but mostly out of necessity. Initially impressed with the selection of items(from sushi to sandwiches to Italian pasta buffet), the quality on all counts suffers. However, for consistency sake, I recommend the sushi. The coffee is usually gross, instead I would recommend the yogurt shop nearby, or even Quizno’s, as they freshly brew Seattle’s Best daily. They are also not cheap. I’ve never gotten a filling lunch here for less than $ 10. I hate to say it, but Quizno’s is a better deal for your money.

The best of the local«salad bars». Hot buffet and sandwiches both reflect a thoughtful kitchen. Quality of the food on the hot buffet is consistently excellent and the choices are varied and tasty. The folks here are relatively friendly and the dining area is much nicer than the two nearby competitors. Eating here everyday can be a bit pricey(a full container runs me about $ 12) but flavor and quality make it my lunch spot of choice when I want to grab something to eat at my desk.

This is one of three cafes in the building that I go to on a regular basis(SoHo, Grean Leaf’s, and Jefferson). While all three have sandwiches and salads, each has their own unique strengths. SoHo is a very nice café with quite an assortment to choose from. They have a deli sandwich counter, a large salad bar, and a sushi bar. For sandwiches, everyone in my office thinks Jefferson Café down the corridor a ways is the best in the building, so I haven’t tried any sandwiches here at SoHo. The two things I go to SoHo for are the salad bar or the sushi. Jefferson Café also has a similar salad bar, but they cost more per weight than SoHo. They both have pretty much the same stuff, and it’s all good fresh quality, so if you want a salad, go for the cheaper option of SoHo. The sushi is really good and pretty reasonably priced. Like the salad, they do it by weight. I filled up a small salad to-go container with a variety of sushi rolls and it cost me about $ 10 bucks. I totally got my money’s worth. Atmosphere wise, it’s a warm and nicely decorated place. They have some seating inside and a few tables out in the corridor. Location Clarification: The map doesn’t accurately show where this place is. It’s actually in the building that takes up the block in between Clark Street(west side of building), 12th Street(north side), and Crystal Drive(east side). The building has«BOEING» written way up on the top corner of 12th and Clark, and it has a U-shaped driveway off of Clark Street. If you walk up the driveway in the middle of the U off of Clark Street, you will find Quizno’s in the left corner and Green Leaf & the Soup Nutsy on the right. Go inside the U and you will find SoHo right across the corridor from Quizno’s.
