I’ve been kinda obsessed with acai bowls lately because(i) they are delicious,(ii) they are delicious(III) they are light but filling if you add protein and(iv) it allows me to try to fit in a vegan meal to fist pump the environment. This acai bowl was amazing because even after adding both kale and spinach and vegan protein, I still only tasted the berry flavor of the acai! They do have whey too if you want that option. The blueberry topping was so freakin fresh I swear they must have been picked by hand from someone in Maine that morning. I also love the extra chia seeds you can add for free! They opened at 9am Saturday morning and I was there at 9:04 and there was already a line. Lol. Very popular spot so if you are in a rush get there as soon as they open. The line does move pretty quick though.

Awesome local juice bar and acai bowls! I tried my first acai bowl here and loved it — so many fruits and toppings. It takes a little while for it to be prepared especially since there’s always a lot of people here, but it’s worth it! I would recommend the warrior bowl. I most recently tried the dragon bowl with pitaya(dragonfruit), peach juice, strawberries, and mangos and topped with granola, goji berries, coconut chips. There’s also a bottle of chia seeds you can add on top of your bowl. They also sell bakeshop baked goods, which is another awesome local spot.

The best juice, acai bowls, and smoothies in Clarendon. My go to place for a quick, healthy delicious breakfast or snack.

This was my first acai bowl, the California bowl. I appreciated that I could substitute toppings. It was very refreshing for a hot day and the added granola and fruit was on point. Very pricey, so I won’t go often.

Obsessed with this place. I go out of my way to have the acai breakfast bowls. Their drip coffee is perfect, very smooth, I drink it just black. Their kombucha is on point, good for beginners, not too sour. And each location is different, different menu focus and different variations of what they offer. I’ve been to their Falls Church and Clarendon locations. Their green superfood bar is amazing, such incredible flavor.

Loved seeing this cute little shop in Arlington. The smoothie shop is side-by-side with another shop that sells coffee, tea/kombucha and cold-pressed juices. I was here for a little while and a lot of customers seemed to frequent this place. The menu includes a wide selection of smoothies, both regular and green, as well as breakfast items(all day!), sandwiches and acai bowls. They didn’t seem to have less-fruity, mostly-green selections however, at least for the in-store smoothies — I saw that they had those options for the bottled juices. I ordered the green caveman and thought it was thick and hearty but a little too sweet — I would have been okay laying off a bit of dates and making it less sugary, however natural it is. I’ll be sure to try another flavor next time. The price is STEEP at around 8 – 9 dollars per smoothie, which makes me sad because if it were $ 1 – 2 dollars cheaper, I’d see myself frequenting here a lot more. Staff members were very nice, and there’s limited seating both inside and outside. There is supposedly free wifi as well, but I could not connect from neither my laptop nor my phone even after several tries — something to be aware.

By fair the yummiest place in Arlington! A must go place. The warrior bowl is my favorite! You can order online too if it’s during a busy time and go pick it up within 30 minutes! YUM!

Came here straight after barre class and it was the perfect spot! Lines were a little long, but it gives you time to read the menu and decide since they offer so many options. Seats are first come, first served. So if you nab a table by the window, consider yourself lucky. After glancing at what South Block had to offer, my eyes went straight for the acai bowls(my favorite)! I ended up choosing the California Bowl(~$ 9). Blended with acai, banana, almond milk and blueberries, and then topped off with blueberries, banana, granola and hemp hearts. Absolutely delicious! I do wish they had been more generous with the granola, but I made no fuss about it as it was delicious regardless. From sandwiches to smoothies, South Block caters to whatever you’re in the mood for. They even serve breakfast all day! Overall, a great healthy option in Clarendon.

The best acai bowls, great coffee, great staff. Often bust, especially on the weekends, but always worth the wait.

Amazing little spot on the corner of Garfield and 11th… tucked away in the Clarendon neighborhood. It’s directly across from my other go to, Bowl’d! I say try their smoothies as well as their acai bowls. Amazing flavor, great add ons. A little pricey but very good spot for a light meal or protein pick up. Healthy Choice — A++

I’m not really a big smoothie drinker, but this place makes me want to be one! The smoothies are delicious. Beware that the interior is tiny and narrow. There are about 4 tables, 1 bathroom, and a ton of cool decorations. They offer a wide variety of smoothies as well as bowls. I’ve only tried the smoothies – my favorite is the Tropi-kale(they have punny names too!), but I bet they’re all good. They have a small and a large option. If you’re not a smoothie drinker, I’d do the small as it’s pretty big already. Prices are pretty high(around $ 8 for a small one) but a nice treat every once in awhile! Tip: check in on Unilocal each time to receive a different special offer! Conveniently located right near Revolve cycling, go take a spin class and get a smoothie :)

Always packed and consistently amazing! It’s refreshing to feel good about the food you eat and drink! This location is very small, but drives a serious crowd(read: it is tough to get a first come first serve seat). The majority of action behind the counter happens just beyond the large column intersecting the store(the part with 4 – 5 simultaneous blenders whirring). From order to «name call» it hasn’t been more than 10 minutes(this time only 7 minutes and there were 8 orders in front of me). Most people get the smoothies or bowls in my experience although they do have delicious looking egg sandwiches. The corner window location is perfect people watching and soon the front sidewalk will have patio seating(collecting Vitamin D while drinking a smoothie is always a good idea). The staff are friendly(although there isn’t much talking going on behind the whirring of the blenders).

This place was ok. I like to have a green smoothie or juice every day(I make it at home) but sometimes I don’t check that off the list, so I come here. The juice is ok but pretty pricey and the service is mediocre.

I would roll my eyes at this whole micro-juicing craze with the rest of you. And let’s be honest, I’m no angel. I still love cheeseburgers and chocolate. On a whim last summer, after a good workout on a smoking hit day, I gave South Block a try. I had their«detox» juice

Let me start off by saying I love South Block! However, I am trying to be unbiased as possible so here goes. Pros: — ACAIBOWLS: They are worth the hype! THIS is what they are known for! My personal favorite is the California Bowl. — Smoothies: Great, but not spectacular(at least the green ones. I have yet to try the others). My boyfriend said my smoothies with the same ingredients are better(and cheaper) with the Nutribullet(ex: Tropi-Kale) UNLESS you are getting the Total Health Nut smoothie. Go ahead and get that one in a large and don’t look back. Thank me later. — Food: I love coming here to grab a sandwich or wrap paired with a smoothie if I am not in the mood for an Acai bowl. They also serve breakfast all day(which is a huge reason why I love this place). Best thing on the breakfast menu would have to be the SoCal Breakfast Sandwich on Ciabatta(obviously add bacon in). — Location: Conveniently located in the heart of Clarendon right next to Trader Joe’s! Cons: — Space: It’s super small and lots of people love this place so it gets very congested at times. — Wait Time: Once you order you go and wait by the pick up area and each time I have gone they take a while whether it be a sandwich, smoothie, or bowl. I personally think they are understaffed. Again, when you pair this with the fact that the space is small, it can get kind of annoying. — Price: This place is expensive, which I do not really consider because I love the place so much but for someone who is more money-conscious, this may not be your favorite. — Nutrition Information: For a place that harps on wholesome, health-boosting ingredients, it is slightly annoying that they do not include Nutrition Facts in their store, menu, or website. I don’t think I’m asking for too much when I want to know how many calories are in my Acai Bowl or how many grams of protein I’m getting from my Breakfast Burrito. Just a thought. Sometimes I will come here on my lunch break or on a random weekend morning to start my day off right. They have wifi inside so you can bring a laptop and get stuff done! I love the vibe.

Unlike my first review, this review will not be as glowing at the former. I have been to this shop for the past three Sundays and each time our acai bowls have tasted different. The Sunday three weeks ago was as fantastic as the first time, then last Sunday it was slightly watered down, and today was just plain watered down. We were all thoroughly unimpressed. Between our dragon bowls, caveman bowl, and California bowl, they just weren’t the same. Another thing that occurred to us was that in addition to the price for each bowl, there’s a juice tax. That’s false advertising. You walk in and see the price, but when you actually sign the bill, there’s a small fee charged for«juice». Wth? That price should be factored into the price for the bowl, not as an added tax. I’ve never seen that financial calculation anywhere in Hawaii… just putting that out there.

Great little smoothie/healthy eats café near Gold’s and Trader Joe’s. I usually get the King Kong or Peanut Blast smoothies. The large is only $ 1 more than the regular size so why not just go for it. lol. The wraps and sandwiches are good but my fave is the Clarendon Fiesta Burrito. They also have acai bowls on the menu but I’ve never tried any of them. Make sure you check your order when you pick it up. I have yet to come here without something being wrong in my order. They gave me a regular smoothie instead of my large smoothie order a few times and have forgotten to give me chips with my wrap. They’re also a micro juicery if your into juicing. I’ve personally never tried their cold-pressed juices but seems very popular. The actual juice bar is next door.

This is the place you’ll find all of Arlington at on a Saturday after a morning work out. Seriously… everyone there(including myself) was in gym attire. I’ll wake up early to work out, but I’m way too lazy to whip up something as easy as an Acai Bowl. so I’ll head over to South Block Co and pay them $ 8 – 9 to make one for me. But at least they do it right! Deliciousssss and makes you feel super proud of yourself for being healthy. I ordered the California Bowl and it was so good. I added shredded coconut and chia seeds to it. Chia seeds are free and available in a shaker by the pick up area. I love the variety of toppings they have that can be added to your bowl(most for an additional charge of course). The portion size was good — it may look small, but don’t worry… it’s plentyyy. I also love how extensive their menu is. They offer juices(café next door is specifically for juice as well), smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches, etc. Everything sounded amazing! The one downfall is the size of the place. It’s not really a spot to sit and eat. There’s limited seating inside and even with those seats available… you’ll be surrounded by people waiting in line or for their order to be ready. They do have a few tables outside though, which is perfect on a nice day! I work out in Alexandria on the weekends, so this will definitely be a regular stop for me afterwards! Can’t wait to try more acai bowls & smoothies! :)

3.5. South Block provides your standard over-priced healthy options, in the yuppie overpriced Clarendon neighborhood. The cold pressed juices are really good and refreshing(particularly the green ones) but will set you back $ 9/bottle. The wraps and smoothies are… just good. Nothing noteworthy or astounding. They do use Boar’s Head deli meats, which ups the taste of the sandwiches and wraps! The breakfast wraps are pretty darn tasty. I have found all of their«caveman» drinks absolutely disgusting, but that may just be my personal taste… They make the caveman drinks with cashew milk, which SOUNDS delicious but manages to taste like curdled thick grainy milk. Not my jam.

South Block Café is a compact yet busy juice bar in Clarendon. South Block fits in seamlessly with the barre studio, yoga studio, and Lululemon as neighbors. I took a morning class at the yoga studio and I rushed over to South Block for a smoothie. I had their Tropi-Kale, which had mangos, bananas, agave, coconut water, strawberries, and kale. I was not disappointed. Their juices, which are cold-pressed, start at $ 8. Their menu is huge, and they have acai bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and coffee. I’ve only had their juice, but I’d like to try their food another time!

Thanks to belly card, my partner and I snagged two cold pressed juices for free! We had the orange carrot juice and cashew milk. I tried both and preferred the carrot juice more, the cashew was a bit too thick and cinnamony for my taste, blue print cleanse makes a better cashew milk. Prices for the juices are about the same as blue print cleanse, they have more unique varieties and flavors. Make sure you get a belly card to collect points !
