Only coming back because of the bartender Blair! She was the perfect mix of professional and personal! When there was a scuffle(which is understandable because you’re in Arlington) she handled it great and made sure I was safe. The place was packed, but she was able to maintain her composure and had no issues handling the crowd. We honestly never even consider this place when we go to Arlington, but we will now because of her! :) It’s refreshing to meet good people!

Outstanding Sunday brunch location! Steak and eggs are a must but also a great buffet selection. Jax is the best bartender in Clarendon! Just ask her for a man-mosa!

Very good service. My burger was excellent. Happy Hour was full, restaurant was partially full. Attentive staff.

Liberty Tavern is a slightly above average sports bar/restaurant in Clarendon — not much to write home about. The benefit is that if you live in DC and are meeting up for brunch with someone who lives in Fairfax, it serves as a convenient midway point at which to convene, particularly due to its proximity to the metro.(That is what I did last Saturday.) Beware: it’s devoid of a charming ambiance. As I mentioned, Liberty Tavern blasts sports games, and as a result, we were practically shouting at each other in order to hold a conversation in the downstairs couch area. It was incredibly annoying, layered atop the loud chatter of the other diners. SOLOUD. Our waiter was accommodating when we requested to move outside, which ended up being way more peaceful and enjoyable, despite the 80-something degree weather. Two of us split the Brunch Pizza($ 15.95) and Romaine & Kale Caesar($ 9), which was plenty. The Brunch Pizza laid on the cheese a bit heavily; it was quite the hefty pizza, especially when you factored in the fact that bacon and sausage were also scattered atop. It made me feel not-so-healthy, so just a heads up. I did enjoy the gooeyness of the egg on the pizza though. The Caesar was extremely blah, despite the fact that it included anchovies and a quail egg, unlike most Caesars. If you need greens, I’d recommend you get your fixing of greens at some non-sports bar. While the food was merely okay, the servers were wonderful. Like I said, they happily moved us from table to table. Furthermore, once we signed our bills, we totally forgot our four credit cards on our table, which they kept on hand until we realized our error and picked them up ten minutes later.

Nice brunch Buffet on Sunday for around $ 50 for two after tax. Buffet had steak, fried, chicken, yogurt, grits, eggs and a variety of salads so there was something for everyone. Everything was cooked well which is unique for a buffet.

We stopped here on a Saturday morning after an early round of golf. The brunch buffet honestly looked amazing, but there’s no way I could eat $ 23 worth of food, so I went with a burger instead. The burger was fantastic. although it was SO much food. We probably could have split one. The absolute only thing I found to keep me from giving it 5 stars was the fact that our waitress really didn’t visit much. My burger was super messy… which she noticed when she came to the table to check on us. and even offered to bring me extra napkins… but unfortunately she got busy or forgot because that didn’t happen. She also didn’t check back to see if my husband wanted another drink. But perhaps she was busy. All was good, so there is really nothing that seriously offended us. We would definitely come back… perhaps even with a group.

I. love. this. place. The Everly Brothers plays in the background softly«dream, dream, dream.» And guess what? If dreams were filled with buffets that had thick French toast with a banana and pecan syrup(fancy!), jalapeño and cheddar biscuits with gravy, spinach and goat cheese quiche, scrambled eggs with cream, brownie bites, Greek yogurt parfait, then this place qualifies. This ain’t your typical Golden Corral buffet. If there was ever a brunch buffet worthy of dignitaries hungover from their fancy bbq last night, this would be it. The bar has three TVs each of which is always playing a different sports game, not that I care but I know some people are into people throwing balls and running at each other. Anyway, there’s a homey vibe to this place, you don’t need to dress up, jeans or fancy brunch dress it’s all good here… They’ve got mimosas, Bloody Marys and a well-stocked bar, for you winos and cocktail hounds. It’s just real good food, with a good vibe that seriously hits the spot on a Sunday afternoon. Shout out to the salmon pizza with fontina, arugula, capers(my favorite…)…You da real MVP.

came here for happy hour on a friday with a party of 9. they have tables and lounge areas that are good for accommodating large groups even without prior reservations. hh is just on drinks: $ 3 drafts, ½ off wine by the glass, and $ 5 industrial margehrita. selection on drafts was okay; a little lacking on craft beer selection if youre not a fan of the good ‘ol american basics. we also ordered a lot of food and i have to say that it was all pretty basic. one of the pizzas looked like digiorno supreme pizza lol and the cheese platter was very basic. id say just stick with the foods that you cant really go wrong on… like fries and wings lol. overall, a decent place to start off the weekend with drinks and some food… but probably not a finally destination for a friday evening.

BRUNCH! I liked the food. I liked the service. I liked the ambiance. But… I have to say that we got there just after opening(9:20am) and we were told they were booked up. Now I am going to assume that everyone had a 10:00am reservation as the place was mostly empty. Food was good, but I was not quite sure why it was all cold as they opened at 9:00. Perhaps not to let the food dry out in the heat.(a tough balance to maintain for brunch) Most of the food was average stuff you find at a buffet, but nothing that blew me away. Enjoyable nonetheless. I might return, but I have found much better places nearby. Good eatin’

Visited this place on 15may2016 for brunch. We got their 920 and the place was empty and we were told we couldn’t sit upstairs where brunch was because it was full. When really it was 75% empty. The food was ok for brunch. They served yogurt, french toast, quiche, prime rib, salmon, bacon and eggs and etc… nothing out of the ordinary. Not worth $ 25 a person. The part where this place gets 2 stars is that all the food was cold and the price wasnt on par with what tou can get else where for brunch buffet at that price. Worst part is… everything was cold.

Great bar in Clarendon. It’s one of the few places on this street that doesn’t have a mile long line out the door, but is still really crowded inside. It’s a classic Irish bar, with all the Irish paraphernalia on the wall, and good beers on tap. We were here on a Saturday, and while a lot of people were standing with their drinks, there will still a couple of tables open for sitting. There was also live music, which sounded fun, but that room was super packed so we headed out to the main room. My friend and I had Harp on tap and my boyfriend had Guinness on tap. We’ll be back to this great Irish bar!

The food and cocktails here will keep me coming back. The wait staff is usually pretty attentive and the bar staff is always quick and friendly. Everything on the menu that Ive tried has been great. The burger and fries are always fresh and juicy. The pizza here is amazing. They have a few different options to choose from. The brunch for $ 30 is probably the best brunch in Arlington. All the options I would choose for normal meal choices and they keep it updated and fresh throughout the day. The late night scene here is hit or miss. They usually have a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights and it can get a little packed. The crowd is generally a little older and more well behaved than some other spots in Clarendon so if you are looking to stay away from the college kids then this is a good choice.

Went in for Saturday brunch. I was able to reserve a table in the morning, so we were seated right away. Our waitress recommended the brunch buffet but we wanted to try their menu items. Got the breakfast pizza and a burger. Best part of my meal was the Bellini. Breakfast pizza was above average. The idea of eggs on a pizza dough is interesting! My husband’s burger was just ok. We left satisfied!

I’ve been to Liberty Tavern several times and despite a mishap(I’ll get to that), I really love this place. Let’s start with the first meal of the day! Their weekend brunch is SO good. Bring your appetite because the all you can eat buffet has a ton of breakfast and lunch items and dessert. It’s a good opportunity to try their fried chicken and grits. Their French press coffee is also delicious. Dinner! I love their farm to table concept and their flavors do not disappoint. The gnocchi are so light and fluffy and the sauces are always flavorful. I recently had the braised lamb with whipped ricotta and it was delicious. I love that you can order a half portion for the more decadent dishes. Drinks! Their grapefruit buck is one of my all time favorite cocktails. It’s a fruity take a the all popular Moscow Mule with, you guessed it, grapefruit juice! It’s a must try. I found myself trying to find a recipe for it with little success — bummer. Guess I’ll have to go back for one… or several. So, I need to mention that I had one bad meal here. I had to send back a dish that was not described properly on the menu. Unfortunately, I dealt with a snotty manager. I ended up having an unpleasant conversation about my bill. Thankfully of the numerous times I’ve been to the restaurant, I’ve only encountered this manger once. I’m not going to let one sour experience ruin all the other good meals I’ve had at Liberty Tavern!

Very good brunch — broad selection of items and high quality across the board. Came in on a Sunday around 1:30 and had a 40 minute wait for 4 people. Clarendon’s an easy place to kill time. Could list it all the dishes, from southern favorites to NYC brunch staples, but will focus on a few highlights: 1. The cheese grits were excellent. For those who are picky about grits, these are creamy and rich and the bits of grits themselves had lots of body 2. The mussels in coconut curry sauce will be a hit if you like Thai(though they’re not at all spicy). You’ll pay $ 8 – 10 for an appetizer like this in most restaurants 3. Bacon fans rejoice — lots, lots, lots of smokey bacon and none of the flaccid, tasteless strips at lower quality spots. 4. There was a nice array of Mediterranean items, like grape leaf wraps and light, sweet pasta salads The desserts overall were nothing to write home about, though the little brownie bites(looked like they came out of a muffin tin) were rich and had a caramel swirl in them. Very tasty! Lively atmosphere, good food, and prompt service for ~$ 30 with tax/tip. Will be back!

So new job = new coworkers. If they like you(which I think they do), they invite you to things like HH(acronym for happy hour for those who need explanations). This was the spot they picked since they like this place. Even though i wasn’t able to drink(March 9th is when I can drink again; msg me if you want details), I had to say yes. Arriving at 515, it was packed on a Friday night. They got a spot in the lounge section in the back corner so I joined them there. Comfortable setting with low tables and lounge soft booths. You could tell everyone was enjoying themselves as they should; if you’re upset at a bar during happy hour on a Friday, you need medication(such as alcohol). The server we had was running back and forth the whole time. I don’t think she was too happy with the fact that I wasn’t drinking(what server would be). I had to wait a while for my cranberry with soda and the cheese plate I ordered took a while as well(about 15 minutes which is a long time for some cheese). They have 6 cheeses to pick from. I went with cheddar from New York and Alpine Reserve from Wisconsin. It was decadent and tasty. My coworkers seemed to enjoy it as well. It wasn’t the greatest time but definitely wasn’t the worst. Perhaps next time when I can take in the booze I’ll have a better experience.

Ate here tonight with a dear friend. I’d not heard of this magical place until now. Foodies’ Paradise! Unsalted Butter served room temp with Sea Salt flakes on top accompanying Crusty-soft bread and wafer-thin crackers. My dinner: Pickle-Brine fried chicken atop Cheese and bacon Gnocchi and pan-fried Brussel Sprouts. WAIT…(needle scratch on record sound). Yes, I… I…ME…Ms. Life long hater of ANYTHING brussels… ate and LOVED them!!! From heaven, I know my Mom is smiling!!! Our server, Shawn was awesome! Genuine, humorous and did one hell of a job explaining the awesome Monday night special! I never even glanced @ the menu! For dessert, I had the chocolate pie!!! My oh my that Chocolate pie!!! This wil NOT be my last esperience.

Been here 3−4x for brunch only and it’s definitely worth the trip. It’s always crowded as most people who live in DC know how we love our brunch. Anyways, I’d recommend making reservations as it fills up real quick. I’ve sat both downstairs at the high top chairs as well as upstairs and I’d say I prefer sitting downstairs as you have more room. Things get cramped upstairs hence why I prefer the lower level. My go to drink is the Moscow mule which doesn’t come with a copper mug but tastes good nonetheless. The brunch I believe is $ 29.99/person for all you can eat and offers: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, salmon, fried chicken, quiche, grits, biscuits and gravy, yogurt parfait, steak, deviled eggs, a generous dessert ensemble and some other goodies. Service is great each time I’ve visited as well as the food. Definitely a must try!

I don’t have enough good things to say about The Liberty Tavern! I’m getting hungry just thinking about my brunch there! My friend accidentally made a reservation here for the wrong day of when we were going. Luckily we were able to get a seat anyway, the host was very nice and somehow managed to say something along the lines of «you can have a seat but we need to have you out of here by noon» in a very friendly and non-confrontational manner. Major props to this guy. We sat upstairs near the all you can eat brunch. Seating was a little tight, but I am willing to overlook that because of how great the food was. The spread is fantastic. I started off with eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, french toast a piece of breakfast pizza, which had apples on it. All of it was delicious. Nomnomnom. Seriously, I want more of all of this now. They had many more options for food, including some amazing looking lunch options, but I was there strictly for breakfast foods. There was also a dessert table, all of which looked aaamazing. At $ 23ish(I think?) I found this to be a great deal. The quality of the food was fantastic and service was super friendly. I definitely hope to go back next time I’m visiting my friends in Arlington!

Brunch here is fantastic. It’s one of the few places that I’ve seen do a buffet/bottomless and have an ordering menu and run them both simultaneously without confusion. Probably speaks to the level of service, which is really exceptional here. Besides the good service and ambiance of a welcoming, friendly(but not overly loud) and fun adult brunch, the food is quite good. They’re reasonably priced and have all kinds of interesting things. If you’re looking for a good spot for a brunch with a smaller group, where you can actually hear and enjoy each other and some good food, then look no further. It’s not the best meal you’ll ever have but its good and the ambiance makes it a great spot for a brunch date. Update: I went back here for a dinner and given the experience the previous time was hopeful on the food and atmosphere. While the food was once again stellar — the Mac and cheese and Brussels especially — the service left something to be desired. While we got there late, around 8:30, we felt rushed throughout the meal, we were presented the check without an offer of dessert and repeatedly were asked if we were finished, as if we needed to defend our right to stay or such. I would still return and hope the most recent service is a fluke, as the vibe and food are still top notch.
