Located right on south four mile run in Arlington Arts Center. It’s a great community center for anyone to rent out. Theater on the Run is a small black room room that could approximately 60 – 80 people. Chairs are provided at the center. Cost varies on the event and season for those interested in renting the theater. As for what the theater offers on production, depends on the center and programs. Sometimes they offer free shows for the community. It’s a great place to check out!

Good community theater that doesn’t have the bells and whistles(and affected pretentiousness) of larger theaters. I love how they can pull off a production with a skeletal crew but do so effectively, cordially, and seamlessly. I really respect that. Instead of throwing your dollars at big theaters(which are of course great in their own regard and do produce high-quality performances), if you enjoy local theater with warm, friendly staff and a cozy theater close to Shirlington, give this a go!

I love local theatre performance if it’s done well. I was impressed by the acting at the play I watched at Theatre on the Run. I loved the intimate feel of the theatre. I took my mother in law to see«Crimes of the Heart» by Beth Henley.(Don’t prejudge the goofy name of this play… it was actually well done.) We enjoyed ourselves and I will definitely visit this playhouse in the future. It’s in the Shirlington neighborhood of Arlington and definitely a must-visit spot for people in the Arlington neighborhood who like good live theatre.
