You may call this a «duh» moment for this California gal, but I had an epiphany at Torchy’s, that the state of Texas is the«Tex» aspect of Tex-Mex cuisine. We headed straight to Torchy’s after arriving at DFW to experience the Tex-Mex tacos and queso and this Texas fast casual restaurant chain. We enjoyed the décor of Torchy’s with its devil pitchfork chandeliers and sleek modern set up. The tacos are large. I ordered one taco and couldn’t finish it. The guys ordered 3 tacos each and only finished 2 tacos after putting in quite a bit of work. The names of the tacos are super fun! I had the trailer park taco and ordered it extra trashy. It was a fried chicken taco smothered in white sauce and topped with shredded cheese encased in a flour tortilla. Def a recipe that could have easily been concocted in a trailer park. The extra trashy trailer park taco was fun to try but wouldn’t be my go-to choice for my everyday taco fare. The guys got more traditional tacos with delicious meats and sauces but nothing was quite as fun to order as the«trailer park taco-extra trashy.» Let’s talk about the queso. It was seriously OMG delicious. Worth all the calories.

We went for the first time 2 days ago. I’m a taco lover and these tacos are really good. The price, however, is a bit high! I’ve had gourmet tacos twice that size for less. The queso is AHHHHmazing!!! So full of flavor… I couldn’t get enough! Get the half order of chips and queso for $ 3. The full order is almost $ 6. With each taco being $ 3.25 and up(except for the breakfast tacos), it adds up quickly. My hubby and I got the half order of chips and queso, kids chicken strips(it was served with fried avocado strips… and they had no ketchup… he’s 5! No ketchup??? No other sides?), 2 brisket tacos, a fried chicken taco, the salmon taco, the street corn, and 3 drinks. It was $ 38. The tacos were good, but DAMN! I’ve never paid nearly $ 40 at a taco joint! We had 9 tasty tacos almost the same size and 2 drinks about a month ago at a different place and all we paid was $ 22…STICKERSHOCK! All in all, it was pretty good. I would probably go back for just a half order of queso, 1 taco and a drink. That order would bring my total to about $ 11 keeping my pocketbook healthy.

I give it a 1 because it won’t let me go LOWER! Love the refried beans. They remind me of my mother. Th service. & sometimes just sometimes the food. I will say this I’ve never gone through that awful line… We’ve always sat at the bar. Always… We always wait. Always. But never learn because well I love the beans… TODAY: I sat at the then my friend joined me. 10 minutes, 10! Before anyone noticed us another 5 for drinks… Drinks that seemed shorted by «bartenders» that were drinking… But food was great on point. Un like the past two times but whatever… Why we come here I will never know we always leave upset. Tab time. We had to repeat ourselves several times. Good thing my friend believes in tip karma because $ 6 was way too much to go unnoticed… Never once saw management… Never got out extra sauce or more chips… I hope we learn our lesson and stay away…

The food is super good, and the prices are great too. However there is absolutely no where to sit every time I go, a friend and I had to go eat on a bench a few feet away.

I absolutely love Torchy’s. However, I most likely will not go to this one again anytime soon. This location was clean and spacious and the food came out quickly, but the staff wasn’t that attentive. I had to ask the bartender for a refill twice. As for the food, I ordered two Democrats which I get every time because they’re absolutely delicious. This time it was not. The tortillas were cold, like the they had been taken out of the cooler and left to sit. There was plenty of meat, but it was dry and tasteless. I couldn’t finish it. Disappointed in my dining experience here. I’ll keep going to the location in Ft. Worth.

Great place! Great prices and awesome texmex to go along with it. I usually get the breakfast tacos but today I’m going to try something new! Sometimes it’s a little packed but it’s worth the hassle.

I am a torchys regular. After eating at this location I hope it is an exception to what is normally a great experience. This location is in desperate need of new management and employees. Walking in, the employee on register did not smile ONE time while we waited over 15 min for 4 people in front of us to have their order taken. Her body language was that we were inconveniencing her by being there at 7pm on a Tuesday. This was the attitude of every employee we saw tonight. No energy, no hustle, no smiles, how inconvenient to have customers. Meanwhile the manager is walking around talking and joking with his bar staff. He sees the line has now grown to about 10 customers and decides to do nothing about the wait. his uniform is dirty and unkempt which is always a terrible sign. He finally decides to come over when a to go phone order interrupts the one person he has on the register and forces him to do something. We finally place our order to discover that while there were plenty of open tables none of them had been bussed. When we found what we thought was a clean table we sat down only to discover that it was sticky from someone spilling soda and the table not being wiped down. I should also mention that through the entire meal not one towel touched a table. They simply picked up the food and moved on. Guess that’s their standard for clean. On to the food. Chips with chips and queso. Stale. There were also whole stalks of cilantro in the queso. LAZY. Baja shrimp tacos. Stone cold. Rest of our food was ok. Thought about complaining to the manager but after watching him walk around joking with on and off duty employees, And then proceeding to flirt across the restaurant that it was not worth my time. Torchys I sincerely hope you get a great manager that can turn this place around as I am a regular customer and this happens to be the closest location to me.

Well what can I say about this place… Not too bad but not all that either. The restaurant has plenty of space, but omg this place is always busy. Waiting in line for 20 – 30 min on weekdays and a bit more on weekends. I know that’s the new place in the Arlington highlands but it’s not that good. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad place at all just not for me. I would come back again but not the place that I will pick or crave. The food is a bit different that I’m used too and it’s a bit expensive if you ask me. The food has a good flavor and their queso is really good. The problem I have with them is that my food is always cold. What’s so hard about having hot or at least warm food? If my food was hot and they weren’t so expensive they would of got one extra star. Some of you are probably be asking why give it 4 stars if isn’t that good. Well the place is clean, service is good and they have a good attitude and are ready to help and answer any questions you have. The food has good flavor and just because it’s not for me doesn’t take away from them being a good place. Don’t let my review stop you from coming to this place. Give it a try and see if this is the place for you.

This was my first visit and it was awesome. I went to the bar and asked for a menu. They also have a secret menu if you ask for it. I ended up getting the green Chile pork taco and the brisket taco. Oh my, the were delish. Got them with corn tortillas. You have to ask. Add the salsa they give you in tiny containers. I asked about the queso, which was $ 5.75. The bartender said I could get a half order because I felt like the full order was too much for one person. Holy crap that was some great queso. They add a bit of a hot sauce that is. pretty spicy, but if you mix it up it blends well. I had to control myself from eating the whole lot.

The food was 4 stars. I would go back for there tacos anytime. My reason for the three stars was that it took over 30 minutes or more for our takeout order and then when we got the order several items were missing. As taco places go this place is more pricier than others. The salsa there is great.

Went for breakfast tacos. I’ve heard about this place from several of people. I must say the tacos I got were pretty tasty. The lady told us 1 – 2 tacos would be enough but we were hungry and got three like some pigglets, Lol. Trust me, 1 or 2 tacos is definitely enough. They are big tacos with lots in it.

After hearing much about Torchy’s, I had to go check it out once they opened up an Arlington location. My first experience was drastically better than the last one. When I first went, I was there for lunch with a friend and we perused the menu, ordered, and enjoyed a nice long conversation while partaking in some tasty tacos. My second visit was not as enjoyable. My most recent visit to Torchy’s was a hot mess. My coworker and I came for lunch and waited a good 20 minutes(probably closer to 30) for our food. That debacle came after having to stumble through an order with our awkward, unhelpful cashier who chugged Red Bull in between taking orders. He was not good about informing us about what options we had as far as our tacos were concerned. Instead of asking whether we wanted corn or flour tortillas, he just assumed that we wanted flour. I asked for corn on one taco but meant to ask for corn on my trailer park taco as well and ended up with flour. When I asked about different sauces, he told me that I should’ve ordered earlier and that since the transaction was complete it was too late. Rude much? I text messaged the number on the napkin dispenser to give my feedback as I waited for my food. I did receive a response and the cashier was moved to the bar, where he just macked on pretty ladies and probably messed up drink orders. The person who text messaged me sent an apology(that seemed pretty empty in my opinion) and an offer for free chips and salsa. By the time someone came to our table, we had already eaten so the offer was not worth the wait. Plus I don’t give feedback with the hopes of getting a freebie. I give feedback because I like for employees to be coached so that service can improve in the future. We needed to get back to work and had spent close to an hour, if not longer, in Torchy’s. As far as the food is concerned, the tacos are ok for wannabe street tacos. They’re a bit overpriced in my opinion but they do try to compensate for that by giving you a LOT of meat. I would rather receive less meat and pay less or have a second tortilla included(like real street tacos) so I could make an extra taco. The queso is good and has a bit of a kick to it. Of the tacos I’ve tried, the winner is the green chile pork. The trailer park was ok and the beef fajita was an option that should be scrapped from the menu if they’re not going to improve the flavor of the beef fajitas. Will I be back? Sure. But if it’s another long wait while employees are just chilling, then I’m going to call that strike three and be out.

I don’t do a lot of 5 start reviews, but this was good. better than I expected, actually. I was told the tacos were about the size of the tacos at Fuzzy’s. The only time I went to Fuzzy’s, I guess I got screwwwwed on my tacos, because they were tiny and I was wondering why I was charged so much for so little food. But, that’s another topic for another time. This is about Torchy’s! :) I ordered 4 tacos and was QUITE surprised at how much ‘stuff’ was in them. I guess I should’ve known I was going to get a lot, based on the prices.($ 20 for 4 tacos and a fountain drink. For lunch. Ouch. But, now I know! They’re bigger than I was expecting!) I had the green chile pork, the trailer park — trashy, the brushfire, and a Mr Pink. Everyone seems to rave about the trailer park, but I wasn’t as «wowed» by it as a lot of people seem to be. It was good, don’t get me wrong. I just doubt I would get it again. The Brushfire had a decent amount of warmth to it, but not a lot of heat. I’ve been told that can vary a lot from visit to visit. I would probably get the Green Chile Pork again and then take a random shot at something else. Atmosphere? Typical, loud semi-fast-food joint. They sell alcohol, but I was on lunch from work. So, I didn’t get to try any of the more potent drinks. I did try some of the different flavors of the fountain drinks. I forget what it was called, but the one that is the approximation of Dr Pepper was the one I liked best. Would I go back? Sure! It’s close to work and we could’ve gotten in and out fairly quick.

I’ve been obsessing over tacos lately, and you can imagine my excitement when I found out a Torchy’s was opening in Arlington! I’ve had Urban Taco, and this place was equally as good. I got the salmon taco and their famous chips & queso along with a Torchy-tini. All delicious! The salmon was flaky and had the perfect seasoning. The queso, although a little too spicy for my taste, was so addicting that I couldn’t stop! The Torchy-tini was served in the shaker, and you can just pour it into your glass as you go. I loved the idea, and it was way more than I could drink, easily 3 glass full. At around $ 4/taco, it may be kind of pricey, but well worth it every once in awhile. They also have drink specials everyday, so make sure to look at them before you order! Now to the cons… the girl that helped us at the front was kind of rude. We asked her about recommendations on drinks, and she just shut us down saying she never tried any of them before. We became hesitant to ask her anything after that, so we just ordered and sat down. I would definitely come back, but hopefully I get stuck with a different cashier next time.

After having a less than delightful experience at the Torchy’s in Ft Worth, it was refreshing to once again be in complete bliss enjoying the wonderfully delicious experience of Torchy’s. If you’re a carnivore like me, try the Trailer Park hillbilly style(it’s on their secret menu). Juicy fried chicken tender with bacon and chorizo, topped with green chili queso… awww yeah. Also enjoyed The Wrangler with its brisket and potatoes. The wife really enjoyed her Baja Shrimp as well. And get some chips and queso — the queso is spot on. This place is huge, and it was packed at lunch time on a Monday. However, our food came out reasonably fast, and the servers were very friendly. All of them looked to honestly enjoy being there, which was the opposite of the Ft Worth location. Small but varied and local tap selection. Big place, friendly service, and lives up to everything Torchy’s can be.

The newly opened location might be a regular move for me. Just as a taco lover & for the simple fact that Torchy’s is a good place all around. Brushfire: jerk chicken, mango, jalapeños, sour cream & cilantro. Very spicy but well worth it. The mango helps it balance out. Mr. Orange: blackened salmon, grilled corn & black bean relish, queso fresco & cilantro. The avocado salsa was good as well, & I don’t like avocado at all. They had a special going for their coronitas as well at the time, the strawberry ones are very good.

I love the Fort Worth location, and frequent it regularly. You can understand my excitement when I heard they were opening one in Arlington, which is much closer to my house. This place does not let the Torchy’s name down. Same awesome tacos, literally flashy décor(reflectors serve as the separator wall between the line and the restaurant), and efficient service. The servers taking my order were very nice and chipper for 11 am. I love the attitude! Look up the secret menu when you want to try something new. The Ace of Spades especially is HUGE, served on 4 tortillas. Definitely the new best non-authentic taco place in Mansfield/Arlington. So glad they opened this location.

Came on a rainy Saturday for the first time. The line can get pretty long because they just opened on Tuesday(10÷20÷15). One worker came outside and gave us a quick run on what they had. The interior had a very Austin vibe considering that’s where it was found. Contained 2 bars that are both inside but at one of them they had garage style doors that could open up to the patio seating on a nice sunny day. Workers came to the table several times to pick up any trash or finished food. Manager came around and asked if everything was okay. Chips&Guacamole $ 4.95 –The guac is fresh and great. They bring it out nice and chilled. The chips were just okay not too thick not too thin. Fountain Soda $ 2.25 –The soda station had weird names to it so I just got tea instead. Sauces –Roja sauce was mild but tasty. Avocado sauce was very creamy and tasty with a kick. Diablo sauce is their hottest sauce and wouldn’t recommend to that can’t handle the heat. Most tacos had sauces were are paired with them. Tacos(choice between corn or flour tortilla[got flour on all]) #1 Breakfast Taco $ 2.25 (website description): BACON, EGG&CHEESE. SERVEDWITHYOURCHOICEOFFRESH TORTILLAANDCHOICEOFSAUCE. ADDGREENCHILES $.25 –Your pretty basic breakfast«taco» bacon, eggs, and cheesy. Bacon was nice and crispy. Green Chile Pork Taco $ 3.75 (website description): SLOW-ROASTEDPORKCARNITASSIMMEREDWITHGREENCHILESANDTOPPEDWITHQUESOFRESCO, CILANTRO, ONIONS, & A WEDGEOFLIME. –The taco was heavily packed with meat(a little too much for my liking). The pork was very tender and juicy. It wasn’t spicy at all. I actually wanted a corn tortilla + avocados. We went to the order station and told them(they ended up fixing half of the problem). Asked our waiter if she was sure this was a corn tortilla she said, «yes» but it still ended up being flour. Brushfire Taco $ 3.75 (website description): JAMAICANJERKCHICKEN, GRILLEDJALAPEÑOS, MANGO, SOURCREAM&CILANTRO. SERVEDWITHDIABLOHOTSAUCEON A FLOURTORTILLA. –Mouth on fire type of spicy. Not your traditional taco. Trailer Park $ 3.75 (website description): FRIEDCHICKEN, GREENCHILES, LETTUCE, PICODEGALLOANDCHEESEON A FLOURTORTILLAWITHPOBLANOSAUCE. «GETITTRASHY» — TAKEOFFTHELETTUCEANDADDQUESO. –Fried chicken in a taco what more can I say. The Republican $ 3.25 (website description): GRILLEDJALAPEÑOSAUSAGE, SHREDDEDCHEESE&PICODEGALLO. SERVEDWITHPOBLANOSAUCEANDON A FLOURTORTILLA. –Just okay. The Democrat $ 4.00 (website description): SHREDDEDBEEFBARBACOATOPPEDWITHFRESHAVOCADO, QUESOFRESCO, CILANTRO, ONIONS& A WEDGEOFLIME. SERVEDWITHTOMATILLOSALSAON A FRESHCORNTORTILLA. –Juices flow out at one end as you bite in the other. Replaced tortilla with flour. Very big avocado slices. Overall? –The food was alright, the guac was my fave part. Service is pretty great besides getting my order wrong. They played rather loud music. They have room to improve. I’d come again.

Finally close to home so I can get trashy more often! It’s your basic Torchy’s– the urban — industrial décor and the weirdest, most delicious out-of-the-box tacos in Texas. It wasn’t as hectic as I thought it would be on the grand opening day. Only about 3 hangry late lunch goers in front of me. I knew what I wanted. QUESO. Brushfire. Trailer Park– extra trashy. Yeah, I could just pour some of my queso on the Trailer Park– but them my chips would sit there, alone in the world, longing for the warmth only queso can provide. What kind of monster do you think I am? I can’t comment on the drinks– I really didn’t even look. I usually drink water anyway. Especially when I’m eating the Brushfire– that sauce has a kick. Do they even have dessert? Doesn’t matter– queso is my dessert.
