This is where to go to get freshly made tofu(have never asked about GMO but it’s fresh), and the best red bean balls ever! The red(or green) bean balls are rolled in sesame seeds before being fried to a golden brown – perfect combination of crusty and chewy and lightly sweet. Also, yummy veggie fried spring rolls, often good fried mushroom or lemongrass tofu cubes, plus consistently really good lemongrass tofu is found in the refrigerator. Vegetarian-friendly. Cash only.

if if’s tofu that you’re looking for I would rate this a 5 still. However, they also have lots of other Asian snacks, such as the meat balls, and spring rolls, and seasame balls that I usually order. well, this time around, I have to say it’s just not as tasty. Not sure why, or if they had made any changes recently, but the spring rolls were blend. In the past, my 3 kids would be fighting over them, but this time, it was just OK. Also, the other reason I’m downgrading this to 4 stars is the conversation I overheard. while I was there yesterday around 1p, out came the owner escorting the health inspector. He was there for some time and mentioned several times that the food can only be out for certain time frame and that he would need to write them up for something. Whatever it was, it was not very good as the owner was trying to sweet talk him into something else, but the inspector was firm on what he saw. First off, I know typical Asian stores or restaurant, I usually don’t have high expectation as most of these are the«hole in the wall» type. But having to listent to what he may have seen in the kitchen leaves a negative feeling for the place. Again, I would have knock the star down to a 3, but decided to keep it as a 4 for now.

Get this! Their parking lot smells like urine and there was trash right in front of the door. Upon entering, a guy just looked at us without bothering to greet us. To make matters worse, there were flies around the buffet area! Ugh! Sure, there was tofu for sale, but the slime coating the floor, along with an oily cardboard box near the food cart made impossible for me to stomach the idea of actually eating anything. I’ve seen reviews saying that they sell good tofu… I don’t know. This place seems pretty nasty.

I never have any idea what anything is, but I always love trying stuff out here. Impressions: — Lots of tofu. Lots of variety of tofu, and it’s good tofu. My wife will come, pick out a few choice bricks, and make something absolutely amazing out of them. I never dissuade her from coming here! — Prices are low, and you can choose small servings. That means you can bring ten dollars and mix-and-match to your heart’s content. Interesting-looking red rice-ball thing? Sure! Green soy bean milk? Sure! Meat skewer thing? Go for it! Keep in mind that it’s all cash-only. I’m not that knowledgeable about Vietnamese food, but it’s always fun swinging by whenever I’m in the area and picking up a snack. I’m rarely disappointed!

Best variety of tofu and tofu based deserts hands down. Again we were passing through and after finished eating at first Chinese bbq, we decided to stop by here to give then a try. Totally worth it. My wife made me stop here again before we continued our trip to New Orleans. Definitely worth the stop, service was super friendly and helpful. If you’re ever around here, give them a try, you will not regret it.

I love coming here for spring rolls and pre made tofu. They have lots of different tofu dishes in the cooler and they are all delicious. I like the lemongrass tofu and the shredded tofu and radish. I think the store can seem a little intimidating for people unfamiliar with the language but most of the time the employees will let you know what stuff is. Viet tofu should definitely be a staple for all DFW tofu lovers. o

I like Viet tofu. I usually come in there for their fried tofu with meat mixed In there. I also like the other fried tofu with peppers and sage(I think that’s what the herb is called). My parents love their tofu in a cup with the sweet ginger sauce. Alota Togo Viet foods if u need something fast and tired of the normal fast food junk. Also sells soy bean drink in gallons.

It’s not all about the tofu at Viet Tofu. It’s also a Vietnamese take out place. You can buy premade dishes like stir fried noodles, grill meats with rice, banh mi(the vietnamese baguette) and many, many vegetarian items in the cooler. Awhile back, when I was on a meat less diet, I’d pick up a couple of boxes of their fried lemongrass tofu with red peppers and garlic. I’d take it home and make some jasmine white rice and call it a meal. If it’s tofu you’re wanting, they’ve got the regular soft uncooked tofu and then there’s the several varieties of the fried tofu. If you’re lucky, you’ll come during the time when they’ve made banh cong, which are deep fried donut rings made with rice flour and drizzled with hard caramelized sugar. They also make soy milk from scratch. They come sweetened or unsweetened with pandan flavor or plain. Yes, we Vietnamese sometimes iike our soymilk flavored and sweet. I’m not a big fan of their che, which is a dessert bar with an array of sweetened jellies and tapioca usually served with crushed ice and coconut milk. I am, however, a big fan of their soft tofu with ginger syrup. They serve it warm here but I like to take it home and chill it for a while. Soooo good for when it’s hot outside. Nothing like cold sweet tofu.

Hooray! This place is back on my radar! I don’t know what happened but it’s definitely a change for the better! You gotta try their Banh Xeo. They’re basically crunchy crepes filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. You wrap a chunk in lettuce and dip it in nuoc mam and enjoy! An order comes with two large crepes for $ 5. It can feed two people for sure. It’s really good because they make it to order so they come out nice and crispy. It’s a little greasy but damn tasty. You gotta give it a try! Everything else is pretty darn enjoyable too. I haven’t had anything bad the last few trips so I’m not scared of this place anymore. I do suggest that you make sure everything you buy is warm to the touch(that means it’s fresh) — just to be safe. Their silken tofu is up to par and their sweet rice is normal again. I’m so happy my neighborhood snack shop is back.
