Say what? A used gaming shop that is just a few blocks away from my house? If you are looking for a shop to do some retro video gaming. This place is for you. This is a used video game shop. That being said: they rarely have any of the newest consoles. They do have a plethora of old gaming systems, including the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Most of the games here are also discounted pretty cheap. Some PS3 games I snagged from $ 3.99 to $ 10.00. They also have groups of people that come and play some of the card games in the back, where they have tables set up for group gaming. If you are also looking for the infamous ET video game for the Atari, this place has it.

As a video game hunter, I love to find new hunting grounds for those rare, hard to find gems. I first heard about Bodach’s Games from a post on Craiglist. It was a bit out of my way(about 35 miles from my house), but I decided to give them a try since I was close by one day. Well, the drive was worth it. It is a small store, but the selection is amazing. Normally when I go to an indie game store, I can find maybe one or two games that are on my hunt list. I was completely taken back by how many games on my list were on their shelves. The general floor selection is awesome, well organized, and is full of titles that most shops would have in their hard to find selection. Not only do they have the common console game selection from the NES to PS3, but they also had a nice selection of 3DO, Atari 7800, Super Famicom, and even Jaguar games. The prices were very reasonable, a number of them going below Amazon’s lowest prices. After a rather brief walk around(I could easily have over an hour just browsing), I had found over ten games I had been looking for. All was great, and then I saw they had a collector’s case of hard to find games. I’ve never come across a collector’s case like the one at Bodach’s Games. Usually these cases are either 50% empty or they are filled with games that would not be considered hard to find in any circle. The first thing I saw in the case were two games that I have in my top ten on my hunt list(rare do I ever find one of these games). I started looking with even greater detail and was just blown away. I was both sad and happy that I was on a budget for this venture. Long story short, I expected to find maybe one or two gems as I walked into Bodach’s Games. Thirty minutes and $ 150 later, I walked out absolutely amazed. Not only was the selection amazing, the guys working there were extremely nice and fellow game hunters. After going to through most of the indie game shops in the St. Louis area, I have to say, this was not only the most satisfying experience(thanks to the games I found), but an awesome time talking to fellow game lovers that actually care about their customers’ experiences. I can’t wait to go back again and highly recommend seeking out this hidden gem of a store.
