Mental health is as important as cardiovascular, skin, dental, and any other kind of health, which is why I’m leaving a review for Dr. Turnquist’s practice. I experienced a devastating event far away from Annapolis, and entered Meredith’s office for the first time more than six months after it took place. I’ll leave my last appointment with peace, clarity, and the resources I need to not only put the event behind me, but to accept it as something that made me who I am today. For those who think in extended metaphors: every year, the plebes at the Naval Academy climb the Herndon Monument, which is greased with lard by the upperclassmen. Climbing it takes hours and hundreds of people strategizing. One year, the upperclassmen placed a layer of chicken wire under the lard. The plebes scaled the monument in a matter of minutes. On my own, I was a single plebe charged with an impossible task. With Dr. Turnquist & Associates, I had support, and most importantly, tools, to better grasp what I was living through and to accept it. High-quality and caring counseling aside, the office is extremely professional and caring without being even slightly patronizing. «Gracious» is the word I’m looking for. I’ve come to look forward to my visits and I would recommend this practice any and all friends.
