Stopped here on our way to Big Trees, and so glad we did. My husband had the two egg breakfast with an order of biscuits and gravy. I had the bagel sandwich. All the food tasted delicious and had unique seasonings! Bought some organic produce to snack on as we left as well! Friendly service, food took about 20 minutes to receive but was so worth the wait! Want to come back again to try everything on the menu. Great little gem in Arnold!

My only complaint is you need to be prepared to wait for your food. But — it’s worth it! We hit this place at least 2x a month.

Part grocery, part restaurant, Arnold Pantry has an eclectic local vibe and a fresh menu. Shop has a small produce area in the front(limited in the winter) with a dry-goods and bulk area to the left with several granolas and cooking supplies like sundried tomatoes. We were unable to find carrots, but had plenty of potatoes, apples, and leeks for cooking during our stay. The breakfast menu is a bit limited and basic, with lunch options featuring sandwiches, unusual salads, and barbecue. We came early, so options were limited. The fresh fruit crepes came with a yogurt-based sauce that I didn’t care for, but the crepes themselves were tasty. We added a lemon-beet salad, which consisted of sliced golden beets in a light creamy dressing with lots of green onions. Both dishes were interesting, but not particularly good. Service was disinterested. We walked in, browsed the groceries, didn’t find what we needed, weren’t greeted or asked if we needed help. Order took about twenty minutes to come out, without utensils. I could overlook the lack of service if the food were better, but opted to go to the burger spot next door for lunch instead of returning.

Stumbled across this eatery on the way back from skiing and man was it an amazing find. The café looks really nice inside, the people are friendly, and most importantly, the food was great. The hamburgers are a bit on the expensive side but I had no regrets once I finished my meal. If this was closer, I would definitely go again and recommend anyone passing through to check the place out.

Great food! Local, fresh, healthy, unique and fast. We couldn’t have asked for much more after a long hike. The grassfed beef burger was amazing as well as the veggie burger, mac & cheese and the jojos with truffle oil. Unassuming from the outside but well worth a stop if you want to support an awesome local eatery.

I finally took the time to try Arnold Pantry today and was blown away by how delicious the food tasted. I had the Chainsaw hamburger with Potato Jo Jo’s. Everything is homemade including the bun and it is clear that they take things serious and could easily be a top ranked restaurant anywhere in California. The meat was well prepared and flavorful without being dry and the sauce was incredible! Homestyle fries are generally quite good and this was no exception but the sauce that they provided with them was one of the best that I’ve ever had and really helped make the side on par with the hamburger. As for the service, it wasn’t too busy when I came it to get a late lunch to-go and the employees seemed friendly and professional. This place will surely be a regular spot for me when I’m in Arnold from now on.

Looking for a good burger after a few failed attempts at other locations in the area, we stumbled upon this gem perfectly located and packed with goodness. The burgers were excellent,(I barley finished the forager, AMAZING,) the mac and cheese along with the truffled Jo Jo’s were a hit. This place is pretty much GREAT food, Great service and they go out of their way to get better than usual fresh goods. This place is a must if you are in the area, so many high quality options to choose from and fortunately for us, it’s close to our cabin.

A solid choice for artisan fair. The restaurant prides itself on high-quality ingredients. You can purchase various raw items or get one of their great sandwiches. Most items include their great BBQ. I ate an open faced brisket sandwich called the«chainsaw». Good, but busy. Given another chance, I would have gotten the Pantry plate. The place is delightful cabin like building near Calaveras State Park. The interior is a clean modern rustic. The dining area consists of a few tables and a deli style counter under a high vaulted ceiling. The staff was helpful and pleasant.

A year or two ago when the Arnold Pantry was located at the end of town, I enjoyed buying the home made jalapeño cheese bread and locally grown produce. Now at their new location they have an amazing space to sit down and enjoy those same ingredients in a great farm to table eatery. I believe that a restaurant lives or dies on the simple things. For instance, much can be learned from a basic dish like biscuits and gravy. Gravy can tell a lot about how the kitchen is run. I am glad to say that my order of biscuits and gravy did not disappoint. While perhaps not«traditional» it tasted absolutely fresh and filled me up quite nice. The service was friendly and fast with a vibe that you almost expect on the coast or even abroad. Why not 5 stars? Having fresh produce in the eating area will draw and hide flies. I didn’t choose to eat out of doors(they have excellent outdoor seating available) but had the experience of fending off a couple of pesky flies. Not sure how they can fix it(or even if the should) but that is the reason.

In my 44 years of life, I have never eaten a burger that tasted as perfect as the Orvis Burger. Each bite was better than the last. The side salad was absolutely amazing. The flavors of the greens and the vinaigrette were a delight. By far, the BEST place to eat in Arnold and the surrounding areas. Side note: the complimentary water with oranges pushed the meal over the edge. I will make this a must visit every time we come to the cabin. Great job, guys!

A great new breakfast café in Arnold. Not a large menu, but the food is fresh, healthy and tasty. Definitely a step above other breakfast places in town, yet still quite reasonably priced. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly as well. A nice spot for a leisurely breakfast and to hang out and talk with a cup of coffee. I highly recommend the Arnold Pantry and encourage locals and weekenders to support it. We can use a restaurant like this in Arnold!
