A ripoff artist at its finest. I tried Shawn using a
coupon – $ 60 for 90 minutes. I was struggling with an elderly, frail, disabled mother not adjusting to a nursing home and was looking forward some stress relief. The fact that my body didn’t respond probably wasn’t his fault, but my mind raced the entire time. When the session was up, I was still very stressed with brain fog from days of no sleep… instead of handing Shawn the 2 for 1 coupon, I pulled out $ 60 instead!!! I obviously didn’t have enough for a tip, so I wrote a check – paying him again! He stood there thanking me, saying NOTHING! Of course he wasn’t going to ask for the coupon… that would tip me off and he’d be out that extra 60 bucks he scammed. The next day when I was a little more clear-​headed, it all came back. I called Shawn & left a message, asking how we could rectify the situation. He left a message for me a while later saying «I can take you any time… I have this time, and that time… and you’re right – I owe you one.» Really!!! You think I would do business with a guy who would let me pay him twice? Right in front of him? And not say a word? REALLY??? Is business THAT bad??? Wouldn’t you want to call my attention to the error, gain me as a regular and recoup that 60 bucks back (and more) the next time??? You are highly unethical and it WILL come back on you.

Whoever thought a Deep Tissue Massage Could ever be soooo relaxing?!
Shawn knows exactly what he is doing, and I highly recommend his services. He is in a small but clean and relaxing studio in Arroyo Grande. His deep tissue massage hit all the right spots, all the while still keeping me in a relaxing state. All past deep tissue massages I have had focus on finding a knot, and killing you until it hurts. His is based in kinesiology (which I didn’t know about until I saw Shawn), but it is definitely something you need on a regular basis.
This was my first visit to him, but definitely not the last. Can’t wait until I get to make my next appointment.

The services here far exceeded my expectations. I came in with a very painful headache and he did trigger point deep pressure work that gave great relief! I plan to become a regular massage patient.

I highly recommend Shawn for his deep tissue and sport style massages. He is extremely knowledgeable of the musculature and has deep understanding of the mechanics and physiology of the body. I know when going to him I will receive detailed, specific and professional bodywork.

The best massage therapist I have ever used. A health care professional myself, I have been using massage therapists for more than 30 years to keep myself moving, and it can be very hard to find truly exceptional therapists. I happened upon his sign in Pismo Beach while I was limping from some recurrent hip/​knee problems. We are traveling, and it was getting increasingly hard for me to move. We know no one in the area, so we took a chance and called the number to set up an appointment; Shawn Cabalka answered the phone immediately, was available, and arrived within about 10 minutes; more importantly, he fixed the problem.
Next day I was hiking on the dunes, pain-​free for the first time in weeks. Came back for another treatment before we left town, it was that effective. Shawn is eminently professional, easy to reach, flexible in scheduling, and most importantly, knows anatomy, knows how to zero in on a problem and fix it.
