«Average fine dining.» This is one of the few fine dining restaurants in Arroyo Grande Village. For fine dining and for these prices, though, I expect more. We went for their well-known salmon, but they were out of salmon at 6:00 in the evening. The dinner was mediocre for the price.

Although they say they are closed for renovation, the ABC has revoked their liquor license. Me thinks they be gone.

My date and I chose this restaurant on a whim while in Arroyo Grande and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. The food was amazing — I ordered the short ribs and it was hands down one of the top 25 meals I’ve had in my life. So flavorful, tender and savory. My date had the steak(can’t remember the cut), and it too was exquisite. Perfectly cooked with a rich sauce that didn’t overpower the taste of the steak. Our server was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the food and wine. In general, I was happy to find another great restaurant outside of San Luis Obispo. For all SLO has to offer, the best restaurants can be found elsewhere in the county.

Went there for lunch. Interesting décor, good service, nice small window seating, if you find it available, I didn’t, I sat in the back in the main section with a bunch of retirees, nothing great there. Food was ok, drinks were ok, good Lavazza coffee, and not cheap. probably won’t go back.

Came here the other night for the first time… the interior is nice, but very plain. I love the chairs, the semi-outdoor dining is pretty. The staff were very polite. We did not have to have a reservation and was seated right away. We got the bacon wrapped scallops and pork belly which had the SAME sauces as the caprese salad. So all the food tasted the same. Than finally had a dish without the sauce. It was the fish of the day snapper, with rice and a creamy sauce with sweet peas. It was good, rich, but very buttery. Didn’t finish it all since my tongue just tasted like the first few meals. The place is nice. I might consider coming back again.

There’s a time when you want an ever-changing menu, such as you’ll find at Ember. But there’s also a time when you want to go get that favorite dish that you know will be there all year long. And that’s what I appreciated most about Robert’s(besides the great food). It’s for a more mature crowd that appreciates predicable quality(and peace & quiet). My recent dinner at Robert’s was very nice, quiet, and tasteful. We were a party of six and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the wild mushroom lasagna, which was divine(if a little rich)! The first meal I had at Ember was a duck and wild mushroom lasagna and I dreamed of it for months afterwards, but *poof!*, it was only available for that one month and then gone forever. I know that I can come to Robert’s again and get their lasagna in the months to come. Yay! I just about scrabbled across the table to yank that double-cut, cider-brined pork chop out of my husband’s grasp. It was SOO good! My little sprogs both had the chicken farfalle pasta in cream sauce(also very rich). They loved it, of course. Our friends had the lasagna and the salmon, which they also loved. If you want always-new, exciting food in a boisterous environment, you go to Ember. If you want a quiet, romantic meal with dishes you’ve had before and loved, go to Robert’s.

Want one of the very BEST fine dinning experiences within hundreds of miles? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GO directly to ROBERT’s for a late LUNCH! After one of my many successful shop sprees at AG’s amazing Saturday Farmer’s Market, my friend & I spied what looked like new eats across from the City Hall. We were attracted first to the next door bar, but as I drew closer I saw an interesting fine lunch menu on the wall(with fine prices to match… but what the hell… it could be worth it…& wow, it sure was. They very fact that they made there very own Corned Beef for there lunchtime Reuben Sandwich intrigued me further, and I went in just to ask about that, plus what type of beef did they use for their burger. Well, the charming hostess, went all the way to the chef to ask… and she came back with an answer that sealed the deal. The burger beef was fresh housemade with three types of steak & beef… OK! That alone sold us! Since we were the very last lunch customers, we had the full attention of the staff, which was great. Since I was starving & ready to spend ample $$$ on great food. We shared the following: 1) Seared Pork Belly with a Balsamic Reduction… the rich man’s bacon! 2) The amazing homemade Reuben. 3) The even more amazing triple-custom rare Beef Burger topped with the following: Besides the usual suspects(e.g. Tomato, Onion, & Lettuce)… I ordered… A) Thick sliced lean maple bacon B) Blue Cheese C) Avocado D) Mushrooms E) A SUNNYSIDE-UPEGG. 4) A Glass of a fine local Pinot for me & a local beer for my friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The service & our young under-20 years of age waiter was beyond great. He was mature & knowledgable way beyond his years. He even knew about the details of the local wines microclimates & more. Even better, they gave me a taste of two local Pinot Noirs, so I could pick a fav… boy was it good. Even though they were already close for the prep time between lunch & dinner, they even encouraged us to take our time, as we stuff ourselves to the gills, with tons of wholesome delights. My burger alone was so huge that my friend bet me that there was no way that I could finish it. Well I did… along with the extra crunchy fries …the succulent, but seared crispy Pork«Wonder» Belly & …a full half of the Reuben that matched a Jewish NYC Deli one for taste! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As we took great pleasure in our sumptuous feast, we either people watched from our window table, engaged in great discussions(both with our waiter & without), as we delightfully & causally polished off our astonishingly fantastic meal… fit for two kings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All I can say now… is WOW… go here!!! P. S.- Roberts is only about one year old…& I have yet to hear any buzz about it… what a «hidden gem» & amazing find in the great little village of AG.

The Three Cheese plate was a must try with local dried fruits and good quality brie and blue cheeses. Big enough for at least two people. Herb Crusted New Zealand Lamb Shank was a little small portion for the price. Potato pave was great but Demi-glaze was a little salty and green beans seems over cooked since it wan’t that fresh. Service was great and chef seems genuine in getting feedback.

Robert’s was the perfect choice to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Located only minutes from our house in the village of Arroyo Grande is this restaurant with it’s lovely setting and décor. Our surf and turf meal was excellent from the perfectly cooked tenderloin to the shrimp risotto and the lobster tail. We knew from the moment we were seated that our night was going to be enjoyable but never have I had such a delicious meal! The wine we selected paired well with our meal, and we finished every drop in our glass and on our plates. Highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions or to impress someone.

Roberts continues to impress. The staff is terrific! Attentive without hovering. Food is always delicious. So glad to have Roberts in AG. I am amazed some folks compare this very good restaurant with the likes of Ember which disappointed us twice with their high level of noise and burned and bland food.

Was really excited to see this place open in the village. Took my wife and her family to dinner for her birthday dinner. Service was awful and our waitress probably would not have cut it at Denny’s. The ambiance was not great either. Large open space and it was freezing in the place. Good was just ok and even less than that when coupled with the price. Waitress looked at me like I ordered A1 sauce when I asked her for Salt and pepper. Weird. Won’t be back

The food is really good, unfortunately the servers don’t know the menu. I have eaten here four times and enjoyed every meal. I recommend the Chicken. Hard to go wrong.

Skip this one. Cons *slow not knowledgeable server *dry salmon *20 minute wait to get a drink other than water *asking 3 times for the check, finally the hostess helped me *salad dressing was 98% oil Pros … To top it off, a woman at the table next to us was very loudly discussing her godmothers death in complete detail, and then her uncles death. Um… Happy Mother’s Day!

The staff and owner are absolutely charming! The menu is amazing and a new take on some traditional dishes. I just had the monte Cristo for breakfast and it was so delicious! I will be coming back for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend. The ambience and food is that of a 5 dining establishment with affordable prices.

Came here with 10 other people for dinner on a Wednesday night. Awesome ambiance, awesome food, awesome service. Had the kale/arugula apple salad, it is such a unique flavor and texture. It was sooo good, second time I’ve had that salad and I’ll order it again. Had the prime rib with a side of Mac and cheese and broccoli for my entrée. It was all very good, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Everyone one else loved their meals, we heard great things about the beef stroganoff from a few of our dining companions. Dessert was delicious as well, triple chocolate cake and the apple cobbler.

On January 30th my family and I went to celebrate my Sister in law’s birthday. I was excited to try a Roberts. The décor was very nice but I was shocked when I asked for a refill they brought out warm cans of coke(I’ll be posting the photo). There service was not great and I had to ask for more ice. I couldn’t believe that at $ 30 dollars a head they would bring out a warm can of coke, from Christmas! Sorry, I was a bit shocked. I have heard great reviews but that is not what I experienced. If you go I hope your service is better. I did have the NY strip which was very good. My wife’s fillet not so much. I hope this helps and again if you go I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Came here on my birthday for lunch and there’s not much to say my mom and I along with one other table were the only patrons here during lunch now granted this was like at 120pm 40 mins before they close for lunch. Our server was pleasant but didn’t really suggest anything. My mom got the clam chowder, nothing to write home about, it was super runny had a very weird beige color and tasted nothing like traditional New England Clam Chowder. I ordered the Mahi Mahi fish and chips and again nothing that I couldn’t have gotten for cheaper at another local eatery say in Morro Bay. My fish was cold to begin with and greasy the fries were also cold asked for some fresh with no hiccups but the aioli sauce that accompanied the fish was divine. I also got a chocolate soufflé for my birthday dessert which was perfect and frankly the best part of the meal. My mom doesn’t want to give Roberts another try but I would like to come back for dinner at least to give Roberts a fair chance.

Went for lunch it was our first time here. Had the scallop appetizer which was very good although a bit overpriced for what you get. We had the mahi mahi tacos and fish n chips. Both were very tasty. The service was good and since we were there for a birthday we were given a nice dessert on the house. No complaints at all but like I said we were there for lunch only. We’ll definitely try it again

2.5÷5 My girlfriend and I were invited to dinner for a birthday. Ember was closed. Nice place, inside and out. I ordered a green flash brew from a decent list. My girlfriend got a 50.00 bottle of champagne. She waited 15 – 20 minutes while the rest of us birthday toasted. Apps were good, crab cakes and scallops. Went for the upgrade on the rib eye, and couldn’t tell the difference. My girl got the braised rib stroganoff which blew all other entrees outta the water. Maybe I came on an off day, and maybe their other dishes are the craze. But the champagne thing rubbed me the wrong way, and I’ll leave the steaks to the Swiss and the hitching post. Either way, it won’t be worth another $ 200+ gamble.

My wife and I went to the Robert’s Restaurant in Arroyo Grande, to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was intimate and seating very comfortable. Our waiter, John, was friendly and quite knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the crab cakes, melon salad, and rack of lamb. The crab cakes were uniquely prepared with a papaya sauce and were very light. The melon salad was both refreshing and ample in size. The rack of lamb was lean and tender and a good portion. We also were surprised with glasses of Complimentary champagne from Leticia Winery(my wife’s favorite as it turns out) and a delicious chocolate mousse cake decorated especially for our 34th anniversary. The cost of the meal was amazing low, especially when you consider: the high quality food, large portions, superb atmosphere, attentive service and the generosity of Robert’s providing free champagne and desert. We will return, as we were extremely satisfied and impressed with the overall experience and the special treatment Robert’s staff provided.
