Is there an option to give a lower score? The women working there were incredibly rude. They acted as if we were disturbing them when there was no one else in the store or even walking down the street. There is a lot of construction in pioneer blvd so there was not a lot of pedestrian traffic. They basically flat out refused to show us merchandise because we were not sure we wanted to purchase today. They said they were put out showing us the few bangles they did show us. Ridiculous. It fairly normal to look around especially since their merchandise is on the more expensive side. Horrific customer service. I wonder if the owner was on site and condones this behavior.

so there’s bangles, videos, and food. i’m so confused :/i dunno much about indian things so i can’t compare… i’ll describe it. it’s a long, rectangular-shaped store. one wall, the long sided one, is covered entirely in bangles. i guess that would be a good selection? they have multiple sizes. u can size ur wrist with these sizing bangles at the counter. pretty useful. if ur hungry u can buy a paan. which is a LOT smaller than pictured out front :(and then the lady helping with the bangles might have to step away to actually *make* the paan. and then no one else can help u :(. the paan tastes very herbal. it’s ok but i won’t try again :/. so i bought a stack of 3 diff types of bangles, covering half my lil forearm. it cost me $ 26, which i think is overpriced for an asian store. i blame my bf’s sister in law. she’s indian and was supposed to help me not get swindled: P.

In truth, my rating may be a bit harsh. I find that their prices seem to be incredibly high for the low quality bangles. Some of the other shops that do not specialize in bangles have sets for much less, but you have to search. Also, their prices have significantly increased recently, probably due to all the white people being into the Indian bangle styles. Unfortunately, they see a white person, and even though I’ve been to India, know what they are worth, and have been in the shop many times, I am pretty sure they increase the prices just for me since I am not of Indian decent(again another reason to check for complete bangle sets in other local shops– many are pre-priced). The benefit of this shop is that you’re able to create your own personalized set. The downside is that in doing this you pay a heck of a lot more than these are worth. Finally, there is generally only one person helping with bangles, so you can expect to be there for at least an hour if you have a specific set in mind and they are helping someone else.

Been here to get my wife some bangles for my brother’s wedding and they have paan! Very tasty; if you’ve never tried one you definitely should… they’re $ 1.50.

Came in solely for the bangles, left with bangles. Bangles! From the street, this place looks like a CD/DVD store, but don’t be fooled: the wall behind the counter is covered with millions — no exaggeration — of bangles(plus there are bins with cheap sets under the tables in the center of the store). The woman behind the counter was patient and helpful, maybe even too helpful, because I was still squinting and looking and she’d bring me over suggestions if I said one or the other set was pretty. There’s no easy way to decide on what you want, unless you commit to spending a lot of money and getting bracelets in every color. By which I mean EVERY color, from bright to muted to pastel, and then there’s rhinestones and glitter and patterns, and bracelets made of metal and plastic and wood. I said millions of bangles and I meant it 100%. It’s dazzling and confusing. The bangles come in sets, and depending on the type and size, they can come in sets of three, five, ten, or a dozen(maybe more). Often it’s cheaper to buy more sets, and the bangles only look neater the more you have(wish I’d gotten two dozen instead of one). One of the nice things is that the bangles come in different sizes. I have really small hands and wrists, so bracelets often slide off of me or cover my hand when I’m trying to be productive; here, I was able to find bangles in a perfect size. Heck, they have kids’ sizes, too, and since the bangles are meant to stay on, not only are there different sizes, the sizes are numbered so you know what to ask for. Having said I should get a dozen more of the plain silver bangles I got, perhaps I also need some of all the other pretty ones I left behind?

I had the worst experience with this store. I recently purchased a set of bangles for my friend and upon checkout, asked if I could exchange them if they did not fit her. They said it was no problem, but when I went to go exchange them a couple weeks later, they would not do it. In addition, the manager was very disprectful and rude to me and my friends. I have never seen such horrible treatment from any store I have ever been to. There are so many other bangle and music stores on Pioneer Blvd. with much more friendly service, so I highly suggest opting out of shopping here.

To get the most out of Bangle Bazaar(and most of Little India) — go on a weekday when it’s a ghost town, ask for recommendations, take a chance! I buy CDs here all the time, sometimes I wind up with something fabulous, other times not so fabulous, but isn’t that part of the adventure of not being at the Grove? The movies are inexpensive and almost more fun when bad.

Whenever you’re in Little India don’t forget to stop by Bagle Bazaar. I am basing my review solely on the bangles and not their music, cd’s etc. Their entire right side wall is COVERED with Millions and Millions of bangle bracelets. Oh the joy! I didn’t know where to begin! You can walk out of there with hundreds of bangles with $ 10!
