Kids Smile Pediatric Dentistry

Yesterday I took my now almost 4 year old son back for his treatment. We have been attending regularly since he was 15 months old and the office is still great! Dr. Kay is amazing! She always takes the time to explain everything to me. She and her friendly staff were able to get my 3 year old to sit still for his x-​rays and cleaning. He even remembered the office from the last visit and was excited to go back. I always feel completely comfortable bringing him for his appointments and I will soon be bringing my daughter as well… since she now has a few teeth :-)

BEWARE!!! My daughter needed treatment first thing is to put her to sleep instead of putting her in a papoose (tie her down). Of course the insurance doesn’t cover it and for in network delta provider the fee was VERY VERY RIDUCLIOUS!!! they are charging me the office fee not the delta contracted fee. They have very bad customer service, when I decided to just to some basic treatment of cavity fills they informed me they will not schedule my daughter back because «the fee schedule is to low» according to the receptionist. So if they would of got $ 300-​$ 500 for a cleaning with other insurance companies they would be fine instead of $ 178 which is the delta dental contacted allowable charge!
As a parent we take responsibility so yes we should of taken better care of her teeth it was only 3 cavitiys yes I get that but, am I putting my daughters life at risk to help this pediatric office hit the monthly goal and paying for a specialist NO WAY!!! This place may look and seem nice but no way will I recommend them or return.

1^st time going today and they were all so nice and welcoming. Going back again in 6 months for their check up.

I have been taking my children to Dr. Kay for about 8 years now and have only had the most positive experiences. Entire staff is gracious, kind, great with children and professional. I believe that it is our job as a parent to prepare our children for stressful/​confusing (due to their lack of fully comprehending medical procedures) situations in order for routine procedures to be easier for them. The added bonus is that all that makes up Kids Smile Pediatrics supports my parenting preparation; thru the fun environment, great kid friendly staff, professionalism and appropriate policies. I am so grateful for ALL of you and would recommend your awesome services to all my friends and loved ones.

Superb service, excellent staff and great with kids. If you are looking for a patient Dentist for your kid, look no further. My daughter has been coming here since she was about 4 and she loves it. Now that she is 10, it is great to see that the staff still remember when she first came in and treat her as if she were their own. Thanks

Dr. Kay and the staff are amazing! Their bedside manner towards children are deliberate and I really appreciate it. From my 4-​year-​old daughter’s first ever visit to the dentist to her cavity treatments, there were so many possibilities in which her dental experience could’ve gone sour. Instead, she associates going to the dentist as a positive experience and we couldn’t be any more happier! Thank you!

Horrible customer service. I’m looking around for a dentist for my kids, called this place for an appointment. The lady that answered the phone was definitely having a bad day. She was so rude and blamed me for her mistake hanging up on me! We havent been here but i dont think i will be calling to schedule. I wont be seen with my kids at this place.

Execellent Doctor and staff. So helpful and friendly, they are so good with kids. It’s a great atmosphere and cute decorative walls. My kids are always so excited to come back here! I’m so glad I have a reliable dentist for my kids to continue to go to.

Always a good visit for my son. Very clean and accommodating to kids. Love the fact that they allow both parents back. All the staff is super friendly and professional. I notice they are very hygienic and places is always clean.

My kids been going here for about a year and it has been a good experience for both of them. The oldest of the 2 enjoys the kiddie movies they play above the chairs when getting their teeth done. My youngest is like a different kid when he goes. So quiet and polite, no issues brushing his teeth like when he’s at home. Lol. They have video games in the waiting room, a few toys and books. A movie plays on the waiting room as well, they’re good current movies too! I’m glad a found a local dentist for them thru Unilocal.
* I think it’s cute that they wear sunglasses while getting their teeth cleaned so the light doesn’t shine in their eyes. Great dental spot for kids!
Note* when your little one has to have a procedure done. Parents are not allowed in the back unless they start to get fussy, but they do update you frequently. So no worries.

Both Drs are very good with our kids and my friends daughter. Thank you for making them feel comfortable there. I have not been to the office myself but only heard good things about this dental office from my husband and my friend.

First dental visit for my two year old with Dr Kay. The staff was caring and attentive. Dr Kay has a great demeanor with children and was very informative. Highly recommended!

I have 3 kids and have been coming to visit with Dr. Kim since they’ve opened. My kids and I have had nothing but a wonderful experience. Between all my children Dr. Kim has done cleaning, cavities and crowns. My oldest is afraid of getting older because she doesn’t want to go to an adult dentist.

My daughter had a great experience at her first dentist appointment. Dr. Kay was patient and excellent with kids. During the cleaning, they played her a Disney movie to keep her calm. They were also very patient about the x-​rays. When they sensed that my daughter didn’t like taking one of the shots, they didn’t force her to take it.
Dr. Kay also showed me tips on how to brush and floss a toddler’s teeth. My daughter doesn’t like to floss so that was very helpful. She also educated me on how to choose the correct toothbrush. Previously, I was using a wider brush but now I find it easier to brush her teeth with a smaller and narrow brush.

LOVE this place. The staff are all warm and welcoming, the doctors spend an incredible amount of time with the patients and parents, and their work is exceptional. The office is adorable and the movies really do distract the kids during their visits. My 7 year old looks forward to going to the dentist — amazing.

We brought our 19-​month daughter for her first checkup and it went great! From entering the office to sitting down with the dentist for a q&a session, service was awesome. Since it was our daughter’s first checkup, the main issue was how to be able to brush her teeth correctly (love the technique they showed us to brush our daughter’s teeth) and to start flossing as well. My husband was with our daughter while getting her teeth cleaned. Yes, she was scared but Dr. Kay was very attentive and cleaned our daughter’s teeth easily despite some crying protests=P.
Their office is clean and there are books, a little play area, and a video game station for the kiddos. Staff is friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. Will definitely be using Dr. Kay as our pediatric dentist and referring Kids Smile Dentistry to our family and friends!

Bringing my autistic son to the dentist has been a complete nightmare for everyone involved however the entire staff here are so patient and caring. Today was our 3^rd visit to see Dr. Kim. I was asked to sign a consent form to allow them to use a bite pillow that would prevent him from biting anyone working on my son~ which was totally understandable since during the last visit the super sweet technician was bitten. However, for the first time my son was cooperative and to our surprise nothing extra was needed to prevent injury to him or others. I am so thankful for this office’s entire staff for being patient with him because I know that has really helped put my 4 year old’s mind at ease when visiting the dentist.

This place really is an oasis for kids. I wish they took adults! Never an issue getting an appoint. EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND NEW! And the doctors are very nice and accommodating.

We’ve been taking my son here for the last two years. We first brought him here because he had extreme tooth decay when he was 3. (Our fault for not forcing him to brush his teeth.) We decided to go with Dr. Kim instead of another dentist because he was very gentle with my son but also straight forward and nice. My son had major work done — 6 caps and 8 or so fillings. He was put to sleep. Although it was hard seeing my child anesthetized and dealing with the after math of the surgery initially, my son didn’t complain afterward and was totally normal the next day. We haven’t had any problems since.
Regarding some of the other complaints, yes it may seem harsh or over board to put your kids to sleep for a lot of cavity fillings or other dental work, but for kids younger than five, they will not be able to sit there still enough to get the work done. Like in a surgery room, I don’t think parents would be able to handle being there while work id getting done. Also, kids need a lot of prepping and coaching, in my opinion, so they will know what to expect of them at the dentist and they won’t be so scared of the objects going into their mouths. And it really is the parents’ fault for not ensuring you brushed your young children’s teeth properly in order to prevent cavities. I take full responsibility for mine!
Anyways continuing with the review:
The staff are really patient with the kids and don’t push them if they are uncomfortable with taking X-​rays. The office is small but cozy and quaint. There’s two PlayStation 2 consoles for the kids and a beautiful mural in the lobby of a jungle with lots of animals. The office is not always packed so there’s never been a long wait to see the doctor.
Dr. Kim is great with my son. Now it’s routine for him. He just lies back in the dentist chair with the sunglasses they give him and watches the movie playing on the TV hanging from the ceiling while opening his mouth wide for Dr. Kim to clean his teeth. Now he has excellent, clean teeth thanks to Dr. Kim, diligent brushing, and a Sonic Care for Kids toothbrush! I highly recommend Kids Smile!

Earlier this month I took my kids for a cleaning and after walking in as a nervous NEW PATIENT I walked out as a HAPPY CAMPER :)
The young girl working front office held a smile on her face and was very attentive. Dr Kay came out into the lobby, reviewed all my med doc’s with me, thoroughly explained all procedures, and gave me plenty of time to ask questions.
Next, the x-​ray tech. She was also a very pleasant young lady. Works well with kids (two thumbs up)! After the x-​rays were developed the doctor pointed out all the baby teeth, and showed how all the permanent teeth were lined up and ready to grow in. The dental assistant didn’t talk much but was also professional my entire visit. The team at this office did a wonderful job showing my 2yr old son how to brush because he wants to
brush his teeth all day :)
My experience was 5 STARS all around. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I haven’t been a patient long enough to say this will always be the case.
