My boyfriend and I come here all the time. Service is quick and the the food comes out very fast! They immediately serve water with lemon and are attentive to when you’re ready to order. We mostly order the Rare steak and the broth is very good. Definitely worth $ 7.25 for the large bowl. The springrolls here are by far the greatest we’ve ever had! The lettuce is fresh and they recently added crispy eggroll shells. Give this place a try– don’t mind the outdated furniture or wall décor. The food is a MUSTMUSTMUST try! Would give 10 stars if I could. *btw if you come here often enough, the waitress memorizes your order and has it ready almost immediately :)

We normally visit a nearby phở restaurant but we decided to try a new place out and it was well worth it . We ordered the meatball phở, lemongrass chili chicken, shrimp spring rolls, and Vietnamese egg rolls. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and taken care of right away. The food came out promptly and we dug in . The food was piping hot and very tasteful. The presentation was nice and we even got a Complimentary Thai tea when we were done . Overall good food and I believe we might’ve found our new spot.

I usually don’t write reviews on Phở restaurants but this by far has the best phở broth eveeeerr! They also have good specials that are all day. I usually get the Special Combo #2: grilled pork sandwich, small bowl of phở, & an iced tea for only 8.99! Phở Pioneer is a MUST try :)

There’s this old Asian guy who always greets you on your way in and out. He makes sure you ate comfortable and wants you to have an amazing experience. The soup I tried was the combination bowl. It was ok. I wish they would hve given more meat. I was only given like one or two of each type of «topping/side». The spring rolls were amazing and the avocado shake is amazing.

Such a great place! My friends and I have been going to Phở Pioneer for years and absolutely adore the owners and the delicious food they serve. The cornish hen, well done steak and chunky flank, spring rolls, calamari, fried shrimp, and garlic steak are all my faves. The prices are reasonable and the service is always fast.

Good price and not packed up like other places. They could improve the bathrooms and all but it’s good spot.

This place rocks, been coming here for almost 10 years and always a great experience! They really do a good job with all their dishes; soups, sandwiches and dinner plates always perfect. Friendly staff and good service.

I really enjoy this restaurant. I always get the calamari appetizer before my regular bowl of rare steak and well-done steak(I think #24??). So good and affordable. Two negatives, though: 1) The Thai tea with boba is such a small amount for the price. 2) Sometimes the water tastes a bit funky. Also a good place to go if you like to watch TV while you eat. I like that the news is always showing when I come here!

I love the soup here. I have tried springroll and eggroll many times here. Believe me, the best restaurant in town

By far one of my favorite phở places around here. Compared to phở in the SGV, this is pretty comparable. The soup is flavorful(salty not sweet) and the portion size is good. I usually get the rare steak and tendon– delicious.

I’ve lived in this area basically my whole life and I always drive by this place and the way to my usual phở spots wondering if they are any good. I was short on time and wanted a bowl, so I decided why not make this the day! this place is a little… dusty? it was quite dim inside and it did need a good sweep. The place is a pretty good sized and service was really prompt(I was the only person in there, so yeah). I did read the other reviews as I was sitting and got a little freaked out with numerous cockroach stories. I can see why they would have that problem though. Thankfully I didn’t spot any, so it was out of sight out of mind. The soup itself was very good, I usually have to drown my soup with lots of hot sauces but this one I actually enjoyed plain with just a squeeze of lime. I just felt like they were a little skimpy on the meats. One quarter of a meatball? Where did the rest of it go? Anyways, this place has been a fixture here for as long as I can remember so it’s definitely a diamond in the rough.

The original servers had left, and I noticed this restaurant went downhill. I was about to order my food, and as I was pointing at what I wanted, the lady literally snatched the menu from me and handed it to another party. What the hell, okay? Never have I experienced that here, or ANY restaurant! No apology whatsoever! I guess her parents didn’t teach her the manners she needs! Too bad that genuine servers from a year ago left, because they were the reason why this place was a hit. Now, you can hardly see anyone eat here. Warned you, don’t expect great service. Plus, the language barrier…

Watch out for hidden upcharges. They did it in the past but I just brushed it off. This visit they charge $ 2.00 for vegetables with appetizer plate(s) but it doesn’t mention that on the menu nor did the waitress say anything. Also they refuse to give you itemized receipts that are legible. I wouldn’t have even questioned the receipt if the couple before didn’t also questioned their receipt having a hidden charge scribbled so you can’t decifer the chicken scratch. Horrible business practice. Always question your bill here. I felt uncomfortable after the discovery of the hidden charges that I didn’t want to use any credit cards here and advise others to only pay with cash.

This place wins for cheapest phở in the area. They have a special in which you can get a bowl of phở for $ 4. Their normal prices for a bowl of phở average at $ 5 for a medium while other places average at $ 6-$ 7. So you can save a few bucks by making this your go to phở restaurant. But I wouldn’t return because I’m sure this phở has MSG, and for the price, I can’t count on quality being served. It’s decent, but I’d rather pay a few more dollars for guaranteed good quality phở. The night that I came in, it was either a 1 man band(in this case, lady) or 2 people running the show. Me and a friend were arguing about whether there was 1 cook and 1 server OR1 simultaneous server/cook. Our server would take our order, disappear, and there would be no one at the front of the restaurant, and come back in 5⁄10 minutes. There were a few other customers dining in so you can imagine service was on the slow side with 1 – 2 people working the restaurant. Phở is supposed to be quick but that night that I went, it wasn’t. I’ll give it another chance someday, but my first impression of this place is that I could go somewhere better.

Decided to try another Phở place so stopped by for lunch a couple of days ago. Phở Pioneer is tucked away in the corner of a medium size plaza so is not visible from the road but not very hard to figure out. At the peak lunch hour we could find parking easily right outside the restaurant. Upon entering, the restaurant feels bare bones with basic furniture and fixtures, but seems to be reasonably popular as there were a bunch of tables full. I decided to go with my standard order of Combination Phở($ 5.95) and my friend got the Chicken phở($ 6.25). We also got an order of the fried Cornish hen($ 3.99) which comes with rice and a small salad to share. Food was out in under five minutes and our server was very friendly and attentive. Taste wise the Phở was excellent — only praises from both myself and my friend. The Cornish hen was also seasoned well, had a lot of flavor and was fried to perfection. The only thing that I did not like was that the portion sizes were way too small. Overall the prices here were about 15% lower that other Phở places but that was clearly reflected in the portion size and the amount of meat in the Phở and it left me wanting a lot more. Overall was pretty satisfied with what I ate and will be back periodically. They take cards but with a $ 10 minimum the place is essentially cash only.

Nothing to write home about. Decent phở, okay fried egg rolls and pretty good service. We needed a lunch stop before Disneyland and Unilocaled it and found this place off the 91 freeway. I think they do have lunch special prices but the portions are smaller as well. There’s plenty of seating and the strip mall is shared with the other shops. Shouldn’t be a problem finding parking either.
