oh no! Ms. Young… I can’t believe you closed! My wife and I came here today with our daughter like we do almost every week and the restaurant closed. We’re very very sad to see you go. Your food was always amazing and I know our daughter is going to miss running around your restaurant. Ms. Young, if by chance you are reading this, please let us know if you ever open in another location or just email and let us know how you and Rena are doing. I’ve never been so bummed about a restaurant closing… we’re really going to miss your food and you!

Yes, J.W. unfortunately it looks like Tofu Plus has closed for good. We stopped by yesterday too, and there was a man inside doing some paperwork. We asked him what happened, and he said that Tofu Plus’ last day was Monday, and that he’ll be opening an Italian restaurant in the space when his liquor license is approved(within 45 days). I’m SOSAD! I didn’t even get to say goodbye to Ms. Young or Ms. Rena. Ms. Young, if you see this review, could you please send me a message? I’d still love to keep in touch with you, even if you no longer have the restaurant. Going to your place was like visiting my family. My daughter Mya sees you and Ms. Rena as her aunties! She’s more comfortable playing with you than with some of her real aunties! I’m so sad that we won’t be able to go to your amazing restaurant for our fix of «comfort» food anymore. You worked so hard to create a wonderful environment with delicious food, and I’m sorry to see it go. I hope things are okay on your end… If you open another restaurant(hopefully in a place with cheaper rent!), please let us all know! I’m sure many of us Unilocalers would follow you to a new location! Til then, best wishes, blessings, and our sincerest thanks for your kindness over the years.

I’ve eaten here once or twice but it’s mostly take-out. Stir-fried ramen with rice cakes! Yum! This is the only thing I get here and it’s so delisc!!!

I love this place! Its better than any other tofu place I’ve been too and it feels really homey. My friends and I have been coming over here for a while now and we still love it the same as we loved it since we first tried it! The lady is VERY nice and she provides great service especially even when she works by herself sometimes! The atmosphere in this restaurant is great with calming music and decors such as Korean drama films with the actors on there. Its even better when its a rainy day and your hungry for some good warm soup. Basically Tofu Plus is were you want to be if you really want some good Korean comfort food. But I have to say the best part is the Ice Cream. The Ice Cream is BOMB! Will always come here!

I’ve known about Tofu Plus for a long time. In fact, i don’t know why I have yet to try this place. I am glad that I did. Dinner got cancelled due to my buddy getting unforeseen work prompted me to venture out and find dinner on my own. And racking my brain, I realized I wanted to try this place and decided it was time to go~! The restaurant is very clean. Staff was attentive. I ordered pan fried dumplings and Lappoki, which is ddukppoki but they use ramen noodles and rice cake ovelettes. I asked for slightly less spicy than regular, because I didn’t know how their heat intensity in their dishes. Before my order came, I got a light salad, slightly over-dressed and a bindaettuck(savory pancake). Salad was crisp and refreshing. Bindaettuck was still warm from coming off the pan. I prefer mine on the crispy side and it was a bit less crispy than I preferred but they were free side dishes. Lappoki was everything I was craving for: noodles, spicy broth, tender ovelettes, veggies, and fish cake strips. The dumplings were home made. You rareky find dumplings that are filled with alot of meat and very fresh. It was a welcome change. Needless to say, I devoured everything. I am coming back very soon and try the other items off their menu. I am surprised tho, that this place doesn’t get more business. Try something new and different. This place is worth the bookmark and a visit.

after reading reviews on restaurants in cerritos this place stuck out to the bf and me. we came in and it was set up real simple and cute. the waitress was super nice and the service was quick. i ordered the rabokki(ramen + rice cakes in a spicy sauce w/fish cake veggies and an egg) and the bf ordered the hamburger steak. the rabokki was ok. but i wish there was more rice cake! usually there’s a lot of rice cylinder, but in this dish it was sliced up thin… wasn’t as filling as other places but still real good the hamburger steak was AMAZING! so good!!! next time i’m definitely ordering the hamburger steak even though i’m not really a meat girl lol. the meat is so tender and the sauce is soooo yummy! i will definitely come back next time i’m in the area. i would definitely recommend this place to others :]

Korean fusion restaurant that serves tofu soup as well. At first, i was really skeptical about the fusion items because of the fact that Asian fusion is usually a hit or miss… usually a miss. Also, its super cheap, so i didn’t expect much. I ordered the spicy seafood pasta and the bf ordered the seafood paella… and WOW… probably one of the best korean fusion food I’ve had in a while. Also what i love most about this place is their level of spiciness. I have a HIGH tolerance for spicy, and most restaurants don’t satisfy my spicy needs… however, tofu plus totally hit the spot. They have different levels of spiciness that u can choose from whether you want it mild or tear jerking spicy.

3.5 stars. Hungry? Lines at the other restaurants in the exact same complex? This isn’t too bad of a place to chow down on some decent grub. We stopped by here simply for this reason: convenience, as the shabu shabu place in the area was closed. The walls are decorated with semi-tacky film reels which I’m sure were printed off a color printer with images of top Korean films of all time(I’m guessing). The walls are of a green shade and you can immediately smell the food, since the kitchen isn’t too far from the entrance. This place was quiet, very quiet, except for one couple that was there dining. A special potato pancake came before our meals, which was interesting. My dish included a Curry Chicken Plate, which tasted like Indian curry. But nothing you can’t make at home with a curry box mix! My guy ordered the Spanish Paella(yeah, really!) and it was just really sweet and tasted like fried rice with some spice. At the end of our meals, our waitress served us some ice cream. That was nice. Overall service was good here, just nothing too extraordinary at ‘Tofu Plus’.

I found this place over a year ago with my bff2 and I have been back countless times since. The experience has always been the same and I’ve had the habit of ordering the seafood tofu soup. But in my recent visit, I decided to be a little more adventurous and try other items on the menu. I opted for the #15 bibimbap beef and special beef soon dubu combo. Unlike other soon dubu places, this one does NOT give you banchan. Instead, they serve a side salad and potato pancake. The salad has a light dressing with a hint of sweet and sour. The pancake is yummy, makes me want to order more. And yes, you can actually order more for about $ 5 for two larger pieces. The bibimbap was served first. I was a little disappointed with the serving but I kinda understood why it was only that much after I finished eating. Since I got a combo, it probably wouldn’t have made sense if I was already full before I get to my soon dubu, what a shame that would be! The beef was ok but what I really liked is the vegetable. I probably would have been better ordering the vegetarian version.(Yes, they have a vegetarian version of bibimbap and soon dubu!) I saved some of the rice since I like eating it with the soon dubu. So unto the soup, the tofu was done just right. This place offers multiple levels of hotness for the soup. It ranges from plain to very spicy. I always get the mild since I’m not really into spicy food. The«special» came with beef and mushroom ingredients. For dessert, they serve complimentary chocolate marble ice cream. I’ve been so tempted to just ask what brand it is but I’m afraid that I’ll just buy tubs of it. So good! A perfect ending for a great meal. The décor is a bit… odd? The wall is lined with pictures from Korean dramas. It’s a great distraction while you wait for your order. And just an fyi, the music on this place always seem to be gospel music…

I like it HOT! Real HOT! and So Spicy It HURTS! Yes — «thats what she said!»… When she was talking about her tofu soup! When I spoon that first bite into my mouth I want to know immediately that I will soon be sweating, that my nose will be running, that my lips will be swelling, and that shortly my belly will be happy! Unfortunately for me, most of the time when I order my soondoobu«spicy» all I get is a lady looking at me like I’m nuts followed by a bowl of dissapointingly mild tofu soup. I’ve often considered packing my own kochukaru so that I can remedy this problem myself, but theres enough junk in my purse as it is. I had begun to consider actually SPICY«spicy tofu soup» only something to fantasize about, until I ordered it at Tofu Plus. The waitress may have questioned me, she even gave me a skeptical look, but in the end she relented and brought me my scorchingly hot bowl of fiery silky soft tofu, laced with 4 types of mushrooms and topped with an egg. I’m pretty sure my toes were wiggling while I ate… We also ordered the spicy Ramen with Rice Cakes(La Boki), and it too, was served just as spicy as we had requested and finally my seemingly neverending spicy fantasy had been realized. Thanks tofu plus– you really know how to treat a lady right!

I would sneakily like to give them a One star only to keep people away — I don’t want to share this place with anyone, selfishly, it’s mine mine mine. But I can’t. This place rocks the tofu soup. I am NOT a fan of tofu but this place and the way they serve it has changed my mind forever. I love love love Tofu +(Plus). Remember, it’s a smaller place so sometimes its only 2 staff people doing the cooking and serving and customer contact. It’s a place that runs from empty to full and these ladies hustle to keep up. The assortment of side dishes that accompany the soup is nice too and you get a little salad to start with. The pizza is a nice addition but the sauce is «kid» sweet so I think it may be offered only because families with kids also come by, They have 2 vegetarian soups too. As mentioned in another review, you get a bit of ice cream at the end of your meal. This is a treat — the whole meal can be very affordable or you can add side orders(wonton type finger food) and pad the bill if you really want to. I like the hot tea they serve(extra) and they are kind when you ask«what’s in this.» The«five levels of hotness» is also a treat for those of us that like«not hot.» Please stop by and try them, again selfishly, I want them to stay in business because it’s great food, good pricing, kind service, and just an all around better experience than another generic fast food place.

I like how they line the walls with pictures of actors from Korean movies/dramas here. A lot of them I recognize from the Korean films/dramas I used to watch. It’s something to look at if you’re bored and don’t have a menu to stare at anymore… or your date isn’t much of a looker. I opted for tofu but I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have the type of banchan that I’m used to at traditional Korean tofu houses. It was solid tofu, not much else to say. They do give you ice cream at the end which is a nice way to finish off your meal. Although I would prefer soft serve it’s way better then nothing! The service was great, but I have to mention that there was only 2 other parties in the entire place so I suppose I got extra attention since it wasn’t crowded plus I had my dSLR with me, heh. Tofu Plus Score: 88 Points

I thought Tofu Plus would be better, considering the rave reviews it got on Unilocal. The Special Soon Tofu(beef and mushroom) tasted alright. There were only 3 banchan items with very stingy portions to share between me and my friend. The woman serving us disappeared nearly the entire meal and only offered to refill the banchan when we were nearly done with our meal. I should mention that even though she was the only server, we were also Tofu Plus’s only customers, so I can’t think of a reason why the server disappeared to the back room for most of the meal. I think the only factor that is saving me from giving this place 1 or 2 stars are the complimentary ice cream(I’m a sucker for free desserts), the fact that the soon tofu was only $ 6, and that the woman serving us was really nice(she just needs to work on checking up on the customers more often).

My boyfriend and I were looking for a late night place to eat and ended up here. It’s a cute little place and they open until 11pm(we went on a Friday night). The sevice staff was unbelievably nice. They wanted to make sure if our dining experience was good, but not in the annoying way. The food was really good. For under $ 10 per person, we got so much food and even ice cream(without extra charge) for dessert! I got the Bul Go Gi while my boyfriend got the Combination Tofu with Rice. My food was pretty good; the meat was juicy and tender. I like the house sauce they use to marinate the beef. My boyfriend said that his Tofu is good too. He ordered a #4 level of spicy(#6 is the spiciest), and he definitely enjoyed it. Plus, the tofu was hot throughout his meal… you can still see the steam even when his bowl was empty! I would give them 3 stars, but the 4th star is for the ice cream dessert they served us(I love desserts!). It was delitefully unexpected since most places would just give you oranges or you’d have to order dessert separately. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

3.5 stars. They changed their name to TOFUPLUS so that’s the sign you should look for if you’re driving around the plaza lost and confused. It’s basically a Korean soondubu(tofu) restaurant that offers other items as well such as ddukbokki, rabbokki, pasta, and more. I came here for lunch and ordered the hamburger steak which came with salad, rice and other veggies. It tasted just A-OK. My bf ordered the seafood fettuccine alfredo and it was pretty good considering the place is a Korean restaurant, but again, nothing special. They also gave us complimentary mandoo(Korean dumplings) in the beginning which was a plus! Service is really really nice and friendly! And they play some awesome music too! :)

I never knew this center existed — there’s a variety of different Asian restaurants that can make choosing a place to eat difficult. I finally decided on The Restaurant Between, which served Korean/Italian food. Got the Paella(mild) and the Rabokgi. I was a little disappointed that the Rabokgi only had ramen instead of both ramen AND duk, but it was pretty good despite the fact that the sauce looked watery. You can choose among six levels of spiciness(0 = white and 5 = very spicy). The paella is really more like fried rice than anything, but it was really good — it tasted similar to ramen but in rice form. Yummy! It came with two mussels and a couple of shrimp. It got pretty busy later in the evening, and I think it was a little bit too much to handle for the two women who were working there bc it took a while for them to get some ppl’s order and bring out their food. Luckily, we went when it wasn’t busy so we got our food quickly. The older woman was super nice — I’m used to mean ajumas. She saw my friend sweating and said she’d raise the air conditioner — he was really sweating from the food and not from the heat, but that was nice. And she noticed that I didnt eat the mussels in my paella and told me I could have substituted them for more shrimp. They also give you a little scoop of vanilla swirl ice cream at the end. I think the bill was a bit over $ 20 w/tip and tax for two.

Have you ever wanted really spicy noodles and live near the Cerritos/Artesia region? If so, then this place is for you. They offer spicy noodle soup with five(count ‘em, five) degrees of spiciness. I, having been a recent convert to the world of spicy foods, decided to be slightly modest and go for the 4th echelon of hotness. I also gave some forethought and realized that I wouldn’t be satisfied with just noodle soup, so I went ahead and ordered a curry plate with shrimp. The lady saw my fat ass picking at all the side dishes and so she came out with an additional salad and an omelets sort of side dish. They were a welcomed precursor to the meal. The actual soup was really tasty and I’m not kidding around when I say that it was HOT. It was so hot, that I had to chase it down with their spicy kimchi, because the kimchi was a milder contrast to the ass whipping my tongue was receiving. The curry dish was also hot, but in a piping sort of way. The rice and the curry were freshly made and hot as hell. Hot, as in caliente, not picante. They use really good curry and I think the owner/server/cook person doubted that I could finish it all. Well, then again, they probably didn’t know that I was a veteran Unilocaler and that I can eat in my sleep. They checked up with me periodically and I only asked for a refill on the water once. I was so proud of myself. The restaurant itself is really in «between» several other restaurants. They claim to be between East and West, however, I believe the name derives from the harden rice between the rice pot and the steamed grains in the traditional Korean dish. The part that many people like to eat as a «bonus soup.» I highly recommend coming here. It’s homey and pretty true to its roots. You know the very minute you enter it’s an authentic Korean joint, because the walls are decorated with Korean soap opera scenes and they’re blasting the Jesus praising music. What a Mighty God We Serve!

I was the first to review this restaurant when it first opened. For some reason, the review is no longer showing :-( The dish some of you mentioned(rice cake) is actually called duk bok gi. And yes, it’s really yummy. You can now get the same stuff with broth. Ramen(or ramyun in Korean) for $ 3.95($ 0.50 extra for each of these toppings — rice cake, egg, etc.). My favorite dish is still the bibimbap — lots of fresh vegetables, and being able to get it with tofu instead of beef is a bonus, especially on the days when I want to eat vegetarian. The restaurant is super clean and very kid-friendly so we dine here at least once or twice a week.
