We went to see an apartment and were told immediately to Sit Down in the office as if we were about to receive a lecture. The woman was rude and didn’t introduce herself or ask our names, but we were required to fill out all(and I mean everything) personal information before being«allowed» to see an apartment. The whole complex stunk of refuse, silage, cigarettes, as did the apartment which had a terrible kitchen. The woman continued to be cagey and never answered our questions about non smoking apts, crime, and management directly. Truly a bleak experience.

This apartment complex is one of those most shitty, beat-up complexes that was probably cool when first built in the late 60’s but is now one more tenant away from converting to Section 8. Between the half-assed appliances, original carpeting, the piles of goose and other animal shit everywhere and the monthly evictions at the dumpster, which I jokingly referred to with other paying tenants as shopping day cause you can catch the poorer neighbors going through that unfortunate tenants thrown out belongings, its all been a nice touch. Living here has been like watching a pack of stray dogs fight over decomposing animal carcasses and packs of feral children scurrying in and out of the sewers. With a little more artsy disrepair, Mesa Verde could most easily be used as a movie set in a post-apocalyptic world. Save your time by not even looking at this place, as this is just an empty pit to be throwing money into. If you want a better living experience than living here you are better off living at one of the crack motels just a couple of blocks away.
