I love this place! I’m so happy they have a good donut spot in Arvin now. Honestly, their donuts are some of the best I have ever had. The dough is soft and airy, and the frosting is perfect. Their donuts are never stale and they are always well stocked. I have to say, it is probably a tie between Smith’s and this place for my favorite donut. The service is always great as well.

IT’S ABOUTTIME! Arvin, California FINALLY has its first donut shop, and I’m thrilled to be the first one to review it! Arvin Coffee and Donuts is run by a very pleasant young woman with absolutely adorable kids who greet their customers cheerfully and enthusiastically upon entering AND exiting. Arvin is primarily an agricultural town, with many fieldworkers who must get up and work in the fields before the blisteringly hot Central Valley sun has a chance to make things totally unbearable. Knowing the needs of this customer base, Arvin Coffee and Donuts opens at 4:00 am six days a week to serve them. «I» will never be making a purchase at quite such an hour, but it’s good to know that those who need to are covered. I visited this donut shop on the Northeast corner of Bear Mountain Blvd. and South A street, in the same building as the more visible Subway Sandwich shop, at a much more reasonable hour. In fact, it was well after noon but they still had a pretty good selection of donuts in the case. For those who are looking for a little more than a donut, they also carried croissants and cookies. I chose to sample a glazed raised donut. I know it doesn’t sound like a very exciting choice, but this donut was light and airy and had a lovely — though not overpowering — sweetness to it. The glaze covered it with that Goldilocks quality, not too much but not too little — not too sweet but not too bland; it was just right. And it was only $.95. I really enjoyed my perfect classic donut! My mom has tried their iced coffee drinks. She says they are a rich, sweet, and milk shakey, not the Starbucks Frappaccino type of drink. She says she wouldn’t do it every day because you can just tell they aren’t low calorie but she does enjoy them when she gets them. The interior of the store has a large area filled with little tables where you can sit and enjoy your bakery treats which has bright and cheery orange and pink checkered floor tiles and bright orange walls. The effect is a little over the top, but is geared to perk you up in those early morning hours. I declare this donut shop worthy of my five stars based on taste, texture, service, and cute décor. PS: There’s no parking directly in front of the donut shop, so park in front of Subway or on South A Street.
