This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I am not one to complain because I had worked eight years in the food service industry. I went here for a date and the ambiance of the restaurant is very loud. There were many people inebriated at the bar and there was quite loud music playing. The room was also very dark. There is a cute design of the place based on a French kids book. The escargot appetizer was pretty good although it was small and quite expensive. My entrée was a duck leg on top of beans. The beans were so far under-cooked they were hard and grainy. The duck was also very dry, like turkey jerky, which I found surprising considering the fat content in duck. I would have sent the food back and asked for something else, unfortunately the waiter did not come to our table even to refill water after dropping off the food. The dessert was pretty good and they give you little chocolate balls with the check. Chocolate balls did not act as a salve for the burn I felt to my wallet for paying so much and receiving such poor food. The ambiance of a restaurant is like the icing on the cake, without good food and service it means nothing. If you want good food, I suggest you go elsewhere.

I went this morning for brunch and was not disappointed. The brunch selections were perfect and they offered a quiche du jour and omlette du jour. Both sounded delicious but went with the quiche. I’m so glad I did! It was light but decadently delicious. The quiche was also served with greens dressed in lemon and pepper. We also had escargot that were perfect. We were also served little muffins with a side of butter and homemade jam. The jam was OUTOFTHISWORLD. It was a raspberry and blackberry jam. I asked if they sell it but to my dismay they do not. I’d love the recipe if anyone in-the-know is reading this! The atmosphere was warm and cozy. They had a piano player which was such a nice calming background noise. Highly recommend you try it out!

I came here for brunch with a group last Sunday to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We all had some mixed feelings about the brunch menu and were a little underwhelmed. The duck in the duck confit sandwich was a little dry and the sandwich had barely any pickled carrots, watercress, and mustard, which I thought would be major components of the sandwich. For appetizers, some of us shared the hay potatoes and escargots. The potatoes were way too salty. The escargots were good, but they served them to us without any bread, and we had to wait a little while before getting bread, so that we could soak up the buttery garlic sauce. The $ 5 bellini carafes were awesome, but this was a bar special only. We were a little disappointed that were couldn’t order this special from our table, but they were so delicious(and strong!) that we didn’t mind walking over to the bar to get them. The duck egg entrée was kind of bland. The potato cake is essentially a poorly executed knish that desperately needs more flavor. We were surprised because when we read«fried potato cake» we were expecting something that resembled a latke. The best part of this entrée was the duck jus, but sadly, they only gave us a teeny tiny amount of it. Our table shared the milk chocolate pot de crème, and it was excellent. It was sweet, creamy, and a tad salty(salted caramel).

The husband and I enjoyed a weekend away in Asbury Park, and a weekend away is not complete without a delicious brunch. I saw other options in town but this brunch spot has full bar, is highly recommended by other Unilocalers(featured on The Weekly Unilocal for French restaurants) and is noted as being a new hip spot on the Jersey foodie scene. So I made a reservation through OpenTable and waited for Sunday to arrive. There is a French theme to this restaurant, from the décor, food, and amazing service. The décor and environment of the restaurant made us want to stay forever. Live music during brunch was a nice touch and volume was perfectly tuned. Our server was great, very friendly, extremely personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu. I enjoyed an amazing bloody mary, so amazing I had two. The husband went the beer route, and our server helped him choose on of the many imported bottled beers. The presentation of the beer was similar to a wine presentation. The server even poured the beer into the glass as my husband sipped away. The chef sent out a free«dipper and toast» a menu option of a soft boiled egg still in the shell with toast sticks. A nice touch that was appreciated. We shared a chocolate croissant while we waited for our food to come out, yes, it was as good as it sounds. The husband had to choose between the Lamb Burger $ 18 or Lump Crab sandwich $ 14. The server sold him on the crab and the husband could not have been happier. It was simple and delicious. I had the Ham Sandwich, wow, it was big and fantastic. This was a great choice for brunch and we hope to return and enjoy other meals here. The happy hour specials looked good as did the other menus. A great find, thank you Unilocal

Four of us stopped in for Sunday brunch. This place seems to do it all right. From the hostess to the bus staff, all were extremely personable. The ambiance is great. Befits a French restaurant. We had a high booth that was perfect for conversation that quelled the noise from the crowded restaurant. A jazz duo topped off visit. The food was done right. My Eggs Benedict were excellent. The duck egg was wonderful as was the country omelet, and hay baked potatoes. Judging by the crowd at noon, I’d say others share my opinion. Absolutely worth returning to!

Went here for Sunday Brunch with friends. Ordered the eggs benedict, which was delicious; not drowning in sauce. Very nice atmosphere & service was excellent. Servers were very personable. We had a small, round booth which was great for conversation between the 4 of us, until the piano & bass player started. Music was pleasant but too loud. Also, table was a bit small for 4 people & food. Would be perfect for 2.

Okay — two reviews for Pascal and Sabine in a little over a week but they deserve both of them. After having dinner and receiving a great recommendation for their brunch we decided to try it today. We we were not disappointed. The reception by the hostesses was friendly and professional and we were taken to our table immediately. Waitstaff service was very good(Jordan was our waiter) and, as expected, food came as ordered and the presentation was excellent. Margaux, our server from our dinner visit stopped by our table to welcome us. Nice touch. The brunch menu is extensive and, after much deliberation, we chose to go with Eggs Benedict(2 eggs with ham, hollandaise and homemade croissant), Duck Egg(sunnyside-up with a fried potato cake and duck jus) and the Country Omelette du Jour with brioche toast. I ordered a side of Hay-Baked Potatoes with Rosemary Olive Oil. Portions are large and everything was well prepared. No containers were necessary to handle leftovers.

Pretty solid place in this barren land of Jersey Shore where food scene is not exactly a thing here. Highly recommend to go during happy hour M-F, 4p-7p. Great selection of cocktails, they make really good manhattan and french blonde. The problem I had different bartender from my first visit and my drinks weren’t as good as the first one. Food is pretty solid and I highly recommend the sea salt caramel pot de crème, and their steak frites. The crowds are typically not exactly generation XYZ but who cares…

We have eaten here often and decided to spend New Years Eve dinner here. Overall it was very good however one of our friends is vegetarian and they had no entrée options. When we asked the waitress she said the chef would create something nice. Well their idea of a vegetarian dish was a bowl of lentils and next to that was potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Which were all side items for the meat entrees. So really they«created» nothing and just put three things that don’t go together on a plate. Very disappointed especially for a $ 90 price fix. Chef needs to do better for the vegetarian guests.

Went here for lunch. Purposely stopped in because a couple was seen enjoying clams. The restaurant was not busy at all. It took the waitress a very long time to greet us and take our drink order. We then proceeded to order clams and were told they do not have them. I promptly drew the waitress’s attention to the couple currently eating them and was told they had them because they knew the owner. After questioning this the waitress then replied«I don’t know I just work here. I do what I’m told». We decided not to dine here and told the waitress to please bring the check for our drinks. We will not be returning. Very poor customer experience

Wow, very nice and cozy place. Drinks were great and creative. Had a wild boar sausage for app that was amazing. Got a burger with bacon and blue cheese which was on point. The star of the show was definitely the Brussel sprouts beleive it or not! They were sweet, salty, crispy, just great! Ate at the bar and the bartender was very nice and friendly.

We just finished an amazing night having our Christmas party here. Amazing food and an outstanding waitperson Kahley made this an unforgettable night! Our party of ten started with top notch cocktails followed by full servings of charcuterie and cheeses. Then some ordered the French onion soup, salads and octopus starters. The main entrees consisted of Venison, Steak Frites, Duck Cassoulet, Lamb stew and the Brussel sprouts side dish. All amazing! Do not pass on the Brussel sprouts which were the best preparation that I’ve ever tasted. On to desserts of apple tart and pot de crème. Both exceptional. Great restaurant, great ambiance and most importantly great food! Last but most certainly not least was the exceptional service of our waitperson extraordinaire, Kahley! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Perhaps we expected too much? We had 9:00PM reservations(the only time available) and arrived a few minutes early to be directed to the bar. The atmosphere and décor are unique, warm and pleasant with two bars to choose from. The cocktails were average with no real standouts but ok. We were seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time so were finally seated around 9:30PM. While the booths and front of the house offer a really warm and inviting atmosphere the seats further to the back were a bit more cold and austere. In the future I would have requested a seat at a table more towards the front. Overall the food was ok. We started with the charcuterie which turned out to be the stand-out of the evening. Well presented with generous portions and everything at the perfect temperature which I think can make or break a good cheese and meat plate. I had come specifically looking forward to the cassoulet but with such a late seating they had already run out. I opted instead for the venison which while cooked, prepared and plated well was a little light on flavor. The same can be said for the steak and frites. Adequate but not outstanding. The pot o crème and beignets were both delicious and a nice way to round out the meal. Overall an ok experience but a little spendy for what they deliver.

I’ve been here twice and each time have been impressed with this place. The décor and vibe of this place are wonderful, luxurious and classy yet laid back. It’s perfect for a date or an intimate dinner with loved ones. Each item I tried from the menu(once their regular menu and the second time their pre fixe) was absolutely incredible. Their Monday night special is a an awesome deal($ 35 for 3 courses) and features some of their best items from their menu! Can’t wait to come back.

I was pleasantly surprised of how nice the atmosphere was here. It’s a french restaurant with a jazzy flare. My fiancé and I had a carafe of peach bellini at the bar for $ 5 while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. We enjoyed a little table overlooking a jazz duo of piano and bass. When the rest of our party arrived we were seated at a nice roomy booth. When our party went to order the peach bellini’s we found out that they were only $ 5 at the bar, which seems a bit silly to me but the waitress was nice enough to let us have it for the $ 5 at the table. For an entrée I got the french onion soup and the drippy eggs. The french onion was UNBELIEVABLE. The cheese was so flavorful and the broth was unlike any french onion soup I’ve ever had. The drippy eggs were exactly what I was expecting. The dipping bread wrapped with bacon was a very nice touch. My fiancé’s eggs benedict were very good. He reported really liking the hollandaise sauce. The rest of their table really liked what they ordered. For dessert we all shared the beignets and they were the perfect flaky texture, had a plentiful amount of powdered sugar dusted on top and were accompanied by a berry sauce that was a bit sweet and tangy. This place is a bit pricey but well worth it. Definitely a fan!

Food, cocktails and ambiance were all great. Ordered the Salmon which was delicious– they even accommodated someone in our table who asked if they could create a vegetarian dish as there were none on the menu. More than the above, the service was EXCELLENT! Huge plus, the waitress was so helpful(shame I forgot her name). She insisted on suggesting and bringing out a new drink after I told her mine was«okay but I’ll drink it» The hostess and bartenders were great too!

Second time we visited this restaurant. We have been here for both lunch and dinner. It is hands down my favorite restaurant in NJ. I love Paris and this has all the hallmarks of a sexy, sleek Parisian brassiere. The food and service is excellent. Highlights including the bread, escargot, chicken liver, foie torchon and the duck.

We wanted to try Pascal & Sabine based on the NJ Monthly’s review and our friend’s endorsement. We met them on a Saturday night-it was very busy. The entrance gives off the feel of a Parisian brasserie, complete with a piano/singer. The bar had a nice vibe and was definitely hopping. Service was friendly yet professional. The wine list is mainly French, Spanish and American. We shifted towards France– a nice Sancerre and a Pouilly Fuisse. Appetizers: OCTOUS-PAN-ROASTEDSWEET100S, HERBPISTO– tender FLUKECARPACCIO –SAUCETOMATE, OLIVEOIL, ARUGULA, MALDONSALT– loved this dish, very fresh ESCARGOT– GARLICSHALLOTBUTTER– I am not an escargot person, but I did try them and they were good along with the sauce DUCKPROSCIUTTO, GARLICSAUSAGEPLATE– interesting but I wouldn’t order it again Entrees: PANSEAREDSCALLOPS– perfectly cooked HALIBUT– very good Sides: POMMESFRITES– we polished them off, delicious BELUGALENTILS– very tasty and went well with my scallops Dessert: POTDECREME –rich with a nice contrast from the caramel and sea salt peach melba –poached peaches, raspberry coulis, vanilla ice cream-was average, not impressed plum & almond galette –fior de latte ice cream-very good P & S delivered on food, ambiance and service. Deserves many repeat visits.
