Atlantic Replumbing

This company repiped my townhouse — charged me $ 3800, was great at initial estimate (Pete pointed out plumbing problems and seemed very knowledgeable). They started work the day after I closed on my house, and were supposed to be finished by end of day on Saturday because I had other contractors coming in to do painting and other tasks before moving in (I only had a few weeks until my apartment lease ran out). No one ever showed up on Saturday — I called Pete and he said he would return my call as to why no one was there on Saturday — he never called back.
The guy finally showed up to finish the drywall on Monday and worked late into the night to finish on Monday night.
3 months later, we wanted to install a ceiling fan in the middle of our room. We had to cut a small area to daisy chain the existing light to the new fan in the middle of the room. When we cut a very small hole to get to those wires, the ceiling began CRACKING. This was caused because the ceiling was not replaced by screwing the gyp board into the joist. Now my entire ceiling is cracking since this was not done the way it should have been done — in a professional manner.
When calling the company — the owner stated that the way they did it is how their contract states they repair drywall. Even if it does say this — the company has ruined ¼ of my walls and ceiling and I can never touch them again or they will crack and fall down. As a professional myself, I would expect a company to admit fault and fix their mistake. It would cost them next to nothing, yet he tried to fix the situation by quoting me $ 125/​hr to come spray some popcorn mix on my ceiling.
The owner proceeded to yell at me and tell me I was not a drywall expert (which I am not — but the person who installed my lighting was and verified this was not the correct way to replace drywall), but you dont have to be an expert to see that it wasn’t done correctly when a large portion of the ceiling is now cracking and creating a hazardous living room. I would not use this company — find one that will replace your drywall/​ceilings correctly and get the job done when they say they will.
