Food was ok. Maybe 3 stars at best. I took one star off b/c it literally took them over 50 minutes to get our carry out order ready, even though the restaurant was nearly empty, and they got some of the order wrong. I waited inside the restaurant over 40 minutes and it felt like they turned off the heat(female employee in winter coat). Also, we asked if they had coupons when we ordered and were told no. I get there and there is a whole stack of coupons which I noticed after I paid. The young kid working there would not let me use the 10% off coupon as I had already paid, but he offered some small spring rolls. No discount either for the unreasonable wait. I’ll stick with Kapao’s Kitchen off of Waxpool. Much better food and service. Hunan saved a few dollars but lost a lot more of that in business…

They were out of iced-T and they were out of three separate dishes we tried to order. We were the only table in the place. They only had flimsy plastic silverware. The soda was flat. The food we did receive was average. I would not recommend.

Literally so many things wrong there. Uncooked red chicken, dirty glasses, gave us wrong order and mediocre service. Also gave us plastic ware instead of silverware. Not going back here again.

Ugh! Absolutely, hands down, the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life! I love Chinese food and stop in at many places, always looking for another good place(Wong Kok in South Riding and Yen’s in Ashburn are still my local favorite picks in this area aside from PF Cheng’s). I seriously can’t even tell you if what I ordered was technically Chinese food tonight because there were tastes and looks to my meal that I litterally could not recognize nor palate. I ordered Lemon Chicken and a side of Spring Rolls. How do you mess that up?! First off, it was a pick-up order around 6pm. I was told 20 min. over the phone and when I arrived to the near empty restaurant 20 min. later(1 family dining and not once waited on during my 30min. in the restaurant!!), and appeared to be closed from the outside, I went inside and still wasn’t sure if they were open because it was so dark and poorly unfurnished. About 25 more minutes had now passed(now 45min. total) and the guy comes out with my food. I asked him if he had my sweet & sour sauce for the Spring Rolls and he said no, there was duck sauce in the bag. When I pointed out that the menu stated they come w/s&s sauce he tried to tell me that some people call duck sauce, s&s sauce! What, no they don’t?! Then he told me it would take 5 more min. to make s&s sauce?!? What? When he finally came back, what he brought me was brownish and smelled fowl. Let me just say it now… This young guy was not Chinese and I can bet that whomever was making this stuff in the back wasn’t Chinese either because clearly they don’t know what the heck they’re selling there. When I got home, I was further disappointed to find the nasty/poor quality battered and fried pieces instead of the higher quality sliced white chicken breasts of nicer establishments and the«Lemon Sauce» Lol… it was yellow, but thicker, filled with pulp, and tasted of very watery Lime, because there was a Lime slice in it. Further, there were two Lime slices on the battered chicken pieces. Huh? The sweet & sour sauce… eww, just eww. Even the fortune cookie was stale and I left half of that on my plate. The Spring Rolls appeared to have just cabbage, a few noodles and some particles of sushi rice in them? Needless to say, I won’t ever be back to this place again especially after the stomach issues I’ve been experiencing all evening. I’m almost certain they’ll be out of business by the end of this year… check back on this location come December!

Wow, literally disgusting. The worst! Never had food this bad from a restaurant. Ka prow and drunken noodles had strange ingredients not supposed to be in these dishes. Looks like they ran out of Thai veggies, noodles, etc and threw in some of their Chinese ingredients. Food was super salty, dry, raw. On top of this they illegally charge 10% sales tax. It’s supposed to be 6%. Bad food + tax fraud… never again!

Food was excellent and the service was good. It’s a new establishment so I hope they keep the quality up. Best of luck we will return again.

Uh oh. Had a craving for Chinese for lunch and stopped in for carry out today. The restaurant was practically empty at 12:30 and had clearly changed hands since the last time I was in. No General Tso’s Chicken offered as a lunch option so I settled for Chicken in Garlic Sauce. It’s a good thing I like vegetables because that’s about all this lukewarm dish had — a few slivers(and I mean slivers) of chicken, mushy rice, and two packets of duck sauce(no soy sauce). No egg roll, no fortune cookie. Sorry to say, I won’t be back.

We went there because one of our close friends recommended it telling us that it has full halal menu. We went there Sunday afternoon and it was empty. The host was very nice. Hospitable. We requested quick service as kids were hungry. We got it. Food came quick and hot and fresh. Good job. The only thing that I would suggest is that they need to work on their soups. We ordered chicken corn and hot and sour and they were not good at all. Will definitely visit again. Also adding fortune cookies will be a good idea. :) Keep up the good work

Had lunch. Place was empty. Hot and sour soup was ok. Main course, pedestrian. Oh well. I hope they shape up, but hope springs eternal.

We wanted to try this place as this place offers full halal menu. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps lemon and sweet and sour chicken. Their appetizer portions are huge. Food tasted good. Service can be improved. Keep it up, we will return.

Came for lunch because I saw that they had halal food. Ordered the mongolian beef-SO GOOD. Don’t get to eat that too often because it’s hard to find halal chinese places but I was satisfied :) the décor was nice, place was empty when we came in so we were attended to nicely.

The restaurant was empty when we went. We ordered and waited about 20 minutes for the food. Tom yum soup tasted okay but had no lemongrass. The satay dip is cloyingly sweet, although the chicken was good. The fried dumplings were alright. The papaya salad was terrible. The crab feed rice had barely any crab, and the Mongolian beef had more veggies than meat. We only went there because it’s owned by Thai Pan, and their food is excellent. Skip this place, and head there instead. Mediocre food, and slow service.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Tried the place on a suggestion from a friend when it first opened. Wouldn’t order from anywhere else in the area. Management and staff wow’d me with speedy quality service. Highly recommended

This place is a month old, food is delicious. I ordered Mongolian beef and my wife ordered curry chicken. The Mongolian beef had a charred/grilled taste that was great. The beef pieces were thick and cooked well. The curry chicken was saucy and delicious. I approve of this restaraunt. Cheers!

Finally a great halal Chinese option in Ashburn! The first time we went food was great but service was so slow! The second time was better because we called ahead and placed our appetizer order over the phone. The waitress we had both times was extremely nice and helpful. Not sure we would have been back if it wasn’t for her ;)

My mother and I are very happy people who like Chinese food. This restaurant was disappointing. I ordered the lettuce wraps and my mom ordered Kung pao chicken for take out. Typically, a lunch special is very generous, so we believed that this would be enough food. I called the order in and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. They were a little off their time, but this was not that bad. I attempted to pay with a twenty dollar bill, but was told they did not have cash for change. I should state here that I also had coins, so my change would have been exactly one dollar. I collected the food and returned to the house, only then realizing that there was no lettuce cups for the chicken lettuce wraps. Upon further investigation I noticed that what I had gotten was clearly the wrong order as it was two rolls of lettuce in rice paper with shrimp sliced in half. I opened my mom’s Kung pao chicken and was unsure of what it was as it did not resemble what we have seen in the past at other restaurants. When I called to explain I had the wrong order and would return to collect the appropriate food, I was told that they did not have what I wanted and therefore just had given me something similar. I replied that in the future they should ask or at least make the customer aware of the substitution. They apologized. When I sat down to see what I was given, I chose not to eat it. My mom and I ate a little of her Kung pao, but the portion size was perhaps a quarter of a typical lunch portion and the chicken had gristle in it. I called and explained that I would like my money back. They were nice on the phone and in person. When I walked in to collect my refund I was then told that the transaction could have been completed over the phone so I wouldn’t have to have driven back. I was never given that option over the phone. We recycled their menu and fortune cookies were stale.

Although not much of a Chinese food enthusiast myself, my twelve year old son is absolutely nuts for it. As a result I oftimes find myself looking for quality establishments. My resent move to Ashburn, Virginia has made this search significantly more interesting due to the multiplicity of options available in relative close proximity. I found this place using google maps and headed over with my son to order a lunch take-out. Arrived about 1:30 pm or so and the place was completely empty.(always disconcerting) After about 5 minutes a woman emerged with no smile, greeting or customer service acumen of any sort. Nevertheless, I reluctantly gave her my sons usual order. General Taos chicken, shrimp fried rice and spring roll. For all of us who have children, or are simply compelled towards a protocol of healthy eating, I’ve come to appreciate the many ways that classical Chinese dishes incorporate vegetables in most dishes. There is, as we all know, some distinctions in the various interpretations(such as peas, corn, green onion, bean sprouts and/or carrots in shrimp fried rice, or variations in spring roll ingredients) but there does appear to be a ‘standard’ if you get my drift. Case in point, General Taos chicken is ALWAYS served with broccoli, sometimes broccoli, carrot maybe a little straw mushroom, but ALWAYS broccoli. That is, except here at Hunan Garden. Now, whether this was an uncharacteristic omission or careless oversight doesn’t matter. For me it is tantamount to ordering a pizza and finding the mozzarella missing. Having ordered the dish dozens of times both stateside and internationally it has ALWAYS been presented most minimally as boneless fried chicken nuggets in sauce over bed of broccoli. Not here. What we got was something akin to leftover buffet quality chicken with no broccoli. To make matters worse, the shrimp fried rice was lacking of any complexity, that is, no array of vegetables complimented with rubbery shrimp. Wont be going back
