Good food, good prices, huge menu with American, Italian, and Mexican foods. All day breakfast. Will be back, thanks.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. Staff is always friendly and the food is always excellent. I heard there was a rocky period after the re-opening, but it has been ironed out. For anyone reading previous reviews, soup is back on the menu and breakfast is served all day. It’s the old David’s with a newer, sleeker interior

After hearing«old David’s» had reopened we gave it a try. Other than a few menu items no longer being carried it was essentially what we remembered it to be with a facelift. Good job. Look forward to returning.

Original Davids is back!!! And I couldn’t be happier. Booming on a Thursday night like old times. Same great menu, same great soup, same great service and same amazing food. Welcome back Davids!

I’m not from here so I never went to the«old David’s» but apparently the«new David’s» is reverting back to be more like the«old David’s» so from reading the reviews this should make a lot of people happy. As I said, I’m not from the area but my first impression of the menu & selections are close to a Panera menu. The young man that greeted me informed that at the moment you step up to the counter and order, however, they were returning to a wait staff shortly. I had the side salad with grilled chicken. All of the vegetables were very fresh. I also had a turkey melt grilled sandwich on rye which very tasty. The portions were very generous and filling. They also have a frozen yogurt area which looked tempting but I was too full to even think about visiting. My only complaint or suggestion would to offer a «Pick Two» or soup & sandwich option similar to Panera.

So the«new» David’s has re-opened. After closing on 06÷30÷15 for remodeling this restaurant has re-opened. Most of the same staff are still here which is nice to see. A lot of the same menu items remain including the burgers, burritos and quesadillas. Now what’s different? #1 No more table service or wait staff. You walk in, run the«maze» to get to the counter and place your order. You then find a table and wait to be called when your order is ready. #2 Be prepared to eat only on plastic and styrofoam. Apparently for cost savings the owners decided to ditch actual silverware, real plates, bowls, cups & glasses for plastic or styrofoam equivalents. #3 And it’s a biggie, no more soup on the menu. This is a huge letdown. One of things that previously set David’s apart was the daily soups, often served in combos with sandwiches and/or salads. And #4 another big change — No more breakfast. David’s what were you thinking??? You had a tremendous breakfast business and an awesome breakfast menu that was served all day. I have eaten breakfast there at lunch and dinner many times. It was always excellent. As to the actual meal, we had a veggie quesadilla and a veggie burrito. Both were good but nothing that set the food apart. Truthfully I felt like we had to «settle» for these menu choices. In the past this restaurant was consistently a nice place to eat with a pleasant wait staff. Now, I can see anything that sets it apart from most of the other run of the mill restaurants in Asheboro. The owners have changed what made the place unique and better. I don’t see myself returning. The«old» David’s will be greatly missed.

Not really a fair review because I walked in and saw all the changes made and walked out. After several months of de-construction and revamping the familiar David’s finally opened this week. First off there is no more breakfast which was a favorite of mine. That will be sorely missed. Secondly there is no more friendly wait staff. Ordering is done while standing at the counter reading a large lit menu on the back wall. Honestly, that’s pretty much as far as I got. Too disappointed to even try ordering. That’s why this review is incomplete. I guess it might be best to try for yourself but brace yourself for the completely different feel of my olé fave.

David’s does have the best soups of any restaurant in town. My personal favorites being the Clam Chowder and Potato, on the down side depending on what you order can be good or bad. My girlfriend and I ordered the London Broil one Sunday and while the burgundy mushroom sauce was delicious the meat was tough. The next time we went my girlfriend ordered a Cheese burger and I had the meatloaf. her burger was cooked so done there was no juice what so ever. My Meatloaf was awful. Our waiter who was very nice and extremely apologetic explained to me it was«Northern» style meatloaf… It looked like a processed loaf slice with brown gravy. We didn’t re-order anything and he just charged us for our tea. fajitas are very good… It just depends on what you order.

FYI: this restaurant closed 6/30for extensive renovations expecting to last until at least mid-August. I loved the extensive menu but am not sure that will be available when the restaurant reopens.

A cozy local joint with lots of different options. My favorite is the stuffed avocado and stuffed tomatoes – comes with fresh fruit!

I really wanted to like David’s but it was just ok to me. The ranch salad dressing is great, soup is great, sweet tea is great, lasagna ehh… not so much, service and booths are decent and somewhat secluded. However there is a ton on the menu and although that seems like a good thing at first, sometimes that means that everything won’t be amazing and more like just ok. Yes I’ve only been here once so maybe the locals can tell you what is good to order. But if your just stopping to eat after a zoo trip and you don’t want fast food then it’s a bit overwhelming to try and pick something.

Meh… it’s typical diner food which is nice just wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, but they do diner food right. Waitress was okay, she was more concerned with her regulars than ud. All in all an okay experience.

Having visited many ‘local’ diners in my day, David’s missed and also hit the target for a ‘must stop local spot’. First, the miss: the service was not up to the standards that other reviewers have raved about(maybe Friday-noon is an off period for them). We were seated by the hostess, but alas our waitress didn’t show up until AFTER the hostess returned to seat another couple over 8 — 10 minutes later. At that point the hostess took our drink order and THEN our waitress made her appearance. Considering the amount of patrons already in the diner and the numerous waitresses standing in the doorway to the kitchen this seemed a bit excessive to us. Now the hit: the food is what you would expect at a typical diner. My wife loves Patty Melts and she was not disappointed. Other reviewers were on point, she loved it. I had a BLT Club with onion rings and I was not disappointed. The sandwich was right on target but the onion rings made the meal even better. And the meals would have satisfied even the hungriest person due to the large portions. We took home a nice size snack for later. All in all, not a bad place to eat. Just hope you stop in on a good day for service.

David’s has a little bit of everything on the menu. Hard to choose from all the choices. Food was good diner style food. Very reasonable priced, and received food quickly.

In a town with few vegetarian options David’s is a great option. The menu is huge and you would think with so much variety certain selections would be lacking. I have never found this to be the case. My personal favorite is «the hobo skilled». Their eggs are always impeccable and the potatoes delicious. On some occasions the potatoes have been more cooked than others. Not to say they weren’t cooked but the potatoes on the bottom were not browned out all. The staff is always friendly and the owner offer comes around to check on tables.

Yes the staff and service was nice and fast, but the food is so-so. Now both times I’ve eaten here have been take out so maybe that’s my problem but both times my food was not up to par. The first time I ate here I ordered the chicken ceased wrap. When I opened it up from the Togo packaging, the wrap was completely saturated in the Fraser dressing and I couldn’t get halfway through it without having to stop. This last time I ate, ordered Togo again(working on location so I had no choice but to get Togo) and I ordered the chicken quesadilla with added mushrooms and spinach, and a side of rice and beans. When I finally opened it, not only did my quesadilla not have the mushroom or spinach but it also did not include the rice and beans. So all I got was a chicken and cheese quesadilla and now I am left unsatisfied, hungry and a little pissed off. The chicken quesadilla it’s self was soggy, and the chicken tasted chewy… Not a fan. Will not be returning.

Found this little gem on our way to Uwharrie National Forest. They have an extensive menu including breakfast served all day. On my first visit I had the turkey club which was very good and came with fries, coleslaw and soup. I could barely make a dent in it. On my second visit I tried the strawberry crepes which were delicious. Not too sweet. The service is prompt as is the food. I would definitely stop here again, especially since it beats fast food.

This menu has it all! 6 pages of food from b-fast served all day to Greek, Mexican and Italian. Average price dish is $ 10-$ 12. The place is lacking in décor and the staff isn’t exactly bubbly but they get the job done. I got the fajitas which I will be eating for the next 3 days and my husband got a wrap. In a southern town being open on a Sunday is a big treat so I am glad we stumbled upon this place on our way home.

David’s Restaurant was an oasis to us after a long, hot day walking at the NCZOO. My fiancée and I were starving and were getting nervous that we wouldn’t be able to find something yummy and vegetarian in this town in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, our trusty Unilocal!app saved the day and David’s popped up as being close and with 4.5 stars. woohoo! From outside, David’s is definitely a place you would drive by and not think twice about. The inside isn’t much to rave about, but they had lots of big, cushioned booths… and that’s all we cared about after a day of walking 4+ miles. My fiancée was extra happy that they had a flat screen tuned into Pawn Stars. The menu here at David’s is huge. There’s anything from sandwiches to breakfast food to Greek to Mexican to desserts… you name it. My fiancée ordered the chicken fajitas. The portion of food they bring you is huge, and comes with all the fixings. In addition to the sizzling plate of grilled chicken, onions, green and red peppers he had an additional plate filled with: refried beans, rice, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream. Oh, and did I mentioned he entrée came with his choice of the house-made soup of the day? The options were chicken noodle and cream of potato. He chose potato… OHMYGOSH… AMAZING. I actually ordered a cup of this to-go it was so yum. I ordered the feta cheese omelette with spinach and onions. Very happy with my decision. The cook was heavy handed with all the toppings. This came with a side of home fries, which were prepared a little different that I’d had before: almost flaked like you would find in an au gratin dish. Very good! My omelette came with my choice of toast or 2 buttermilk pancakes. You better believe I chose the pancakes and upgraded them with cherry topping. heaven. In addition to the delicious food and decent prices, our 2 favorites things about David’s where: 1. Outstanding friendliness from our server and staff 2. Super fast service, our order was take and was out in a flash
