Alyssa Spa

Alyssa is an expert level aesthetician who is so clearly passionate about her work. Her care and concern for her clients is so genuine and my skin looks amazing when she’s done. I LOVE her skincare line Osmosis. Her space is in a cool historic building near Biltmore and her suite is calming and cozy. Since I don’t live in Asheville I actually drive 4.5 hours to see her because no one near me even compares! If that’s not a compliment to her magical skills I don’t know what is.

Thank you Alyssa! I just moved to Asheville from LA where I got a Brazilian wax every 4 weeks for the last 6 years from the same amazing esthetician. Coming here I was full of anxiety about finding someone else who could do as good of a job as this is an area you really want to avoid experimentation with. Alyssa had only ONE Unilocal review but it was glowing and after perusing her website I decided it was worth a chance. Thank goodness I found her! She did an excellent job and the best part was no burns, forgotten hairs or most importantly, no major pain! She used a combo of both hard and strip wax, using her judgement on which areas would do best with what, and the result was very little irritation or discomfort. Now I would keep going to her just based on these facts but on top of knowing her craft, she is incredibly nice and personable and also has super cute, clean and relaxing space that really does exude a spa like setting. So relieved my lady bits are in good hands!

This review is for a facial, eyebrow wax, and brazilian wax.
Making an appointment was super easy. Alyssa was friendly over the phone and very accommodating to my schedule; I booked an appointment for the following day.
Located in Biltmore Village, in a cool, historic building, above Rezaz Café. There is a free parking lot adjacent to the building, so parking was a breeze. The spa is on the second floor in a bright room with a warm, cozy décor; made me feel right at home.
Alyssa is the owner and esthetician. She really knows skin, inside and out. We chatted about what was going on with my skin and agreed on the 75 minute «Clarifying Facial.» I’ve suffered with hormonal /​cystic acne since my early teens. Having been under the mag-​lamp of many estheticians, I have undergone a variety of facials and experienced all kinds of estheticians — the ones that don’t say anything, the ones that chat the whole time, the ones that try to upsell you on products/​services throughout, and the ones that just go through the motions without really being present.
Alyssa doesn’t fall into any of these categories; she is super personable and accommodating to ensure that you have a wonderful experience. She read me well, and understood that I wanted a tranquil, relaxing experience — not to chat. Alyssa was focused throughout the duration of the treatment — even tailored the facial to fit my skins needs. When I asked about the products — some smelled so delicious that my mouth watered — she was extremely knowledgable, explaining the ingredients and benefits. Overall: extractions were gentle, yet effective, products smelled incredible, toasty slippers instantly warmed my feet, and the scalp massage was out of this world.
Alyssa is an effective waxer. She thoughtfully shaped and cleaned my bold brows without overwaxing. I was super impressed with her Brazilian technique — quick, clean, and MUCH less painful than other waxes I’ve endured. Plus, she uses hard wax — major bonus.
When I left, my face was glowing to the point where I didn’t even need tinted moisturizer. The next day, my skin was transformed — calm, even, and dewy. Everyone complemented my brows. Brazilian = thumbs up.
