Asiana Grand Buffet

This place is awesome. Super clean, tons of different food. Probably 20 different kinds of rolls (no sashimi however) bummer. I had 3 plates, all small mind you cause I wanted to sample as much as I could. My only complaint was that the Mongolian beef was tough. It had tons of flavor, but was like an old biker wallet. The green chicken curry was solid & the huge table of vegetables prepared different ways was awesome. Gonna have to go back & try dinner. Oh, did I mention it was only $ 10 bucks. Yeah. 10 bucks. Can’t beat that.

Maybe I just come from to small of a place, but this place was like no where I’ve ever been. The variety was amazing. The quality was great. The service was impeccable and quick. Never waited for anything and they were packed. They had stuff I’ve never had which turned out to be pretty good. We stopped at this place randomly on a trip from Gatlinburg TN and was recommended by a gas attendant off of I 26. Highly recommend it myself to anyone traveling through Asheville NC!

I’ll have to say it’s been awhile since I’ve been here but you always get a free lunch with your birthday which is just straight up awesome. Whenever I am in the area I try to come here as they have a huge selection and everything stays pretty fresh. I’ll give a more detailed review next time I’m here in the heat of the moment but it’s definitely one of many gems in the area if you like buffets!

Normally when you go to a buffet, you are eating things that have been sitting out for a while. This buffet was not like that at all. The food was constantly moving. There was fresh food being put out constantly. The sushi was fresh and delicious and there was a great variety of rolls. The food was great. One of the better buffets I have ever been to. We enjoyed it!

My boyfriend and I came in here before and enjoyed our dinner so when we were in the area we decided to go back.
When we arrived, we stood there for a couple minutes waiting to be seated. Come to find out the girl seating people was actually the girl sitting down in her hoodie on the phone (whom I thought was waiting to be seated as well). When she finally did decide to get up and seat us she did not greet us or anything, and just pointed to the table she wanted us to sit at, then walked off.
I ordered a sweet tea, and it tasted terrible. I kindly asked the waiter for a water instead and he asked me if the tea was bad, and I told him yes. Usually you would think they would take it off the bill since I didn’t drink it, but they didn’t. This isn’t a huge deal to me, it was only a couple extra dollars. However, this is just to show the poor customer service this place had.
Maybe it was just a bad night, but we decided to just stick to the New Happy Garden buffet in Waynesville next time we are in the mood for a Chinese buffet.

I came a little late for lunch. I was charged for the dinner meal, even though many of the dinner items were not even out yet.
I feel as though 15 dollars for a buffet and drink are a bit much. It just seems over priced to me. I could go to a nice sit down restaurant with a great atmosphere and divine food for less than 15 bucks.
Don’t get me wrong. There wasn’t a bone in my sushi like last time. (still kinda off put about that) and the fortune cookies were not stale again (haha). But I just feel like I got ripped off for what I got. Maybe the new pricing shouldn’t start till ALL the dinner items are out.
Edit: Also, and I don’t want to get too personal here, but the register staff always seem really distant. When we talk to them it seems as though we are bothering them. There’s just a certain comfortableness I get from talking to them. I debated whether to mention it, but it’s one of those things I always feel when I have to go pay the bill. «OH…I have to talk to the register people that aren’t friendly or personable at all»

I’ve always went on the weekend when it was busy. I’ve been there on a lunch day and things were good as well. The food is always good compared to other Asian buffets in the area. The food always makes my family and I return.

Lots of options available. Maybe too many. Although the price may justify the quantity available, it certainly doesn’t justify the quality. The taste doesn’t really stand out, but you certainly will have your fill by the time you leave.

The guy who «greets» you to seat you has never once smiled or said hello. He just points us to our table as if we are a bother. The lady who takes care of the cash register is never friendly. The only people who are nice in this place are the ones who are clearing plates and bringing you your drinks.
The food: You get what you pay for. It’s not horrible but it’s not the best. Standard buffet food.
I put this in tips but will put here also so nobody else pays for dinner and does not get it:
If you want dinner items, go after 4 p.m. and before 8 p.m. Although they say dinner is from 3:30 until 9:30 p.m., they do not put any of the dinner items or dinner sushi out until after 4 p.m. We got there a little after 8 p.m. and most of the sushi was gone. They were not putting out anything new in that area or any for that matter. The dinner items that were empty remained empty. (If you ask for a specific type of sushi, they will make that for you).

Not a buffett person but this place is pretty good. Service was great also.

I honestly didn’t like any of the foods they had. Nada. I came here hoping for a good buffet experience in Asheville and sadly I didn’t. The food was just bland and not flavorful. Their sushi was just… sad. Old, disgusting, & even poorly presented! Don’t waste your money here.
They only good thing was probably the hot tea.

It’s a nice place. service was very good. But we didn’t enjoy the food much. The crispy shrimp was soft which used to was my favorite food. I was disappoint about that. Lucky I liked the salmon sushi.

Seriously the food is gross. We never had one server check on us, refill our drinks, or anything. I can’t mention this enough, the food is gross. Some of it was cold, some of it just looked old. The cherry on top was the rude older woman that should not work in customer service who we paid the check to.
Do yourself a favor and go to the China Buffet on fairview instead.
Much cleaner, friendlier, and their sushi and habatchi table are good.

I have been here probably 15x over the years. I would say its either hit or miss. I went the other day so hubby could get his free bday lunch. He had sushi which he says was excellent… I’m assuming free sushi tastes better.
Anyways I had several kinds of chicken including the Honey, sesame and orange so delish. I didn’t care for the Japanese style chicken. I love the bean curd (tofu) with veggies also the sauteed garlic greens beans and bok choy !!! The cheese rangoons are always yummy but the egg rolls were über greasy this time, drippingly so. They have icecream and a dessert bar. The salad bar I don’t really like but do enjoy the fresh fruit. They have a bar with options kids may enjoy also. All and all its one of the best in A-​town. Lunch is a deal at 8.50 oh and free on your bday with ID !!!

Payed 5.35 for full container of seaweed. And cashier claimed they can’t stuff the container full. I weight it and it was a tiny bit more than half a pound. Buyer BEWARE they make money out of you.

I did not like anything I had except maybe the Thai chicken. I came here hoping to eat some great sushi. My hopes were crushed. Sure they had plenty of selection, but that didn’t make up for the horrible quality. If I wanted this type of sushi I would have bought it at a low end grocery store. Most of the food was old and cold.
The price wasn’t bad, but the quality was horrible. I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone.

We enjoyed lunch here today. The food was good but nothing all that memorable. The sushi bar had more than a dozen selections. The buffet was good although there was mostly chicken selections. It would have been better if they had more pork and beef selections. But the food was hot and most of it was fresh. If you are in Asheville and want Chinese buffet, this place will work.

As far as buffets go I’d give it 4 stars. The food was really pretty good, the sushi was plentiful and fresh. There is a large variety of sushi, some seafood and huge variety of hot dishes Asian and otherwise. We enjoyed our meal here and will go to Asiana again.

They serve soft serve chocolate ice cream that tastes like Yoohoo.
