Dwellings

I’m writing my first Unilocal review ever because I had such a great experience at Dwellings. This is where you should buy your furniture! We were shopping for a house we were building, and stumbled upon Dwellings. Not only do they have beautiful pieces (we’re thrilled with our sectional, two armchairs and pendant light fixtures), they’re also priced competitively, and super friendly and helpful without being pushy at all. We went in and someone asked if they could help us; when we said we were just looking, the person let us just look! (We went to another furniture store to compare pricing and it was the totally opposite feeling; we kept being asked if we needed help and getting offered information, even when we made it very clear we were really just looking! Our price comparisons made us run back toward Dwellings from the big box type furniture store we went to for comparisons).
When we became interested in a couch at Dwellings, we noticed a sign saying to ask about design services. We did and I was amazed by how helpful Tanya was. My husband and I aren’t particularly hip or design-​adept. We needed help (and while Dwellings furnishings are hip, they’re not hipster; I consider us pretty traditional and muted in our tastes and we found a lot that we loved!) Not only did Tanya take our blueprints and design our living room set up (for no charge), but she also came out to our house to help us pick wall colors for the whole house (for a very reasonable fee– less than $ 100 even though we’re 30 mins from town). She listened to what we like rather than pushing what she likes on us, and we appreciated that.
We’re thrilled withTanya’s design work and the furniture and lighting she helped us choose. I’ll recommend Dwellings to anyone looking for furniture, fixtures, or interior design help.

They have cool furniture and nice designer objects to complete an interior. I would not call it an antique store. I believe it’s a mix of some vintage and new. Lots of griege upholstered furniture.
My impression was their store would beautifully furnish a hip condo.
There were no other customers and the staff did not greet me, much less see if there was something in particular I was looking for.

Dwellings has some fantastic pieces! The owner is super helpful, and you can wander without being bothered. I love this place.

Wonderful store with little surprises as you cruise thru the store. The furniture is fun, useful, comfortable and not run-​of-​the-​mill. I love visiting Dwellings every time I’m in town. Always something new to see and buy and the staff is very helpful.
