Stayed there again last night, 1÷30÷16. This time I got a bed that was not fantastic like my previous stay. Yet the room was still clean, and its close to the highways, and overall Im still happy with the place. They do seem to have lots of long term guests, but there were no problems with anything and there is always plenty of parking. There is additional parking in back for loads of cars if the front lot is full. They put out free coffee and donuts in the lobby from 6am-9am.

A place to lay your head, for those on a budget! I recently took a long driving vacation that took me through Asheville. Beforehand spent a day pouring over hotels, Trip Advisor and Unilocal trying to find a good hotel that was within my budget even with being a Choice rewards member i found that the Rodeway Inns int the area were the cheapest at $ 92 a night after taxes everything else was WAAYY to expensive. This just so happened to be the first time I’ve ever stayed in a Rodeway Inn and usually stick to Econo Lodge’s or better. Upon arriving at the hotel I was super on guard as the area seems kind of sketch and there were Mexicans all over the parking lot drinking beer. I walked in and the pictures are 100% true to the place i got checked in and the first thing off was the SUPER nasty smelling elevator. Smelled of B.O. urine, smoke and sweat mixed all in, boy was I happy to get off the thing when it arrived at our floor. The room we had looked nice and nothing seemed out of order. the beds however were EXACTLY as another Unilocal review mentioned. And I also immediately threw the comforters in the corner of the room because they never wash those. There was also no bottom fitted sheets on the beds just a regular double sized sheet. The wife was super nervous that it was going to slide off in the middle of the night and we would be on the actual mattress. Then pulled out my UV/Black light dimmed the lights and checked the floor, sheets and pillows for bodily fluid stains around the room, good thing no spots were found. The A/C was also useless as the knobs were all broken you could turn them around several times and the thing never seemed to get cold and was very loud running at night. After waking up the next morning and taking a shower I also noticed ALOT of mold in the crevasses of the shower, I mean c’mon all it takes is a little caulking! Breakfast consisted of Coffee, Juice and muffins which is pitiful if you are traveling with children. **Overall if your just looking for a place to crash for the night on a budget, this place will work the beds were decent along as your not spending all of your time in the room. Cheers!

Front desk manager was as helpful as he could be… But that aside, the elevator floor was filthy, hallways smelled like cigarette smoke, Room smelled musty. Room A/C did not work for over an hour. Double size top sheet substituted for a king size. Flat sheet. Bottom not fitted or tucked, plastic hanging off box springs. This is not worth the $ 140 charged!!! More like $ 40

Not very good at all. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because I’ve seen worse. Not a bad location, right next to, i’m sure, cleaner and nicer Hiexpress and country inn & suites(both booked). Price was not to bad, $ 70 for 2 queen beds. Lobby: teeny tiny, joke of a breakfast area. Basically a table with a coffee maker and a dozen donuts on an open plate. Elevator/halls: dark and musty, definite smell of smoke(and something that smelled like urine in the elevator) Room: musty and humid, AC was cold, but smelly. I think they recently tried cleaning the carpets, they felt damp(and might explain the smell of feet). And my wife swears one of the droplet stains on the carpet was blood. Either that or dark juice/wine. May play into carpet cleaning theory TV remote didn’t work, had to control standing in front of screen. I immediately took of the comforters and ditched them in the corner. I noticed the blankets underneath had cigarette burns and several unknown marks. I told myself they had to have washed them and tried not to think about it. Beds were pretty comfortable, can’t complain there. Bathrooms seemed dirty. Good linens and towels, but the shower had tons of mildew under the ledges that was obviously ignored by the cleaning crew. Overall, I would not stay here again unless I had to. If I could have done it over, I would have driven the extra 2 hours around the I-40 gorge gap and tried to make it home by midnight.

Far away from anything you want to do in Asheville. The ambiance is dark and feels grungy.
