Gourmet and pricey but for some reason I get ill every time I eat there. Go figure. Their cocktails are awesome. Desserts are excellent. Pizza was amazing. Calamari is very good. Wish I could figure out what ingredient is upsetting my stomach.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Asheville. The fig flat bread appetizer and split pea soup were excellent starters. Had the chicken cutlet salad, which was perfectly cooked. The overall service and experience were top notch.

Long and short: have dinner here it’s worth it. Sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders for the best experience. Longer review: This was a very memorable dinner experience. The ambiance, with the live but not overpowering background music and the food was phenomenal. However, the best part, the thing that brought it all together was the service. Matt and Irina, the bartenders, had the most amicable personalities while maintaining the utmost professionalism. Taryn, one of the managers, also sang their praises while herself, being willingly to put forth ideas on the menu and wine selection. The food: I had the ribeye and lobster smashed potatoes. The presentation was enticing, the ribeye was succulent and the portion was just right. My girlfriend had the shrimp and grits and both of us agreed that it was one of best we’ve had. Try it and enjoy.

Of course you have to expect a wait when coming to the bistro since its on the Biltmore estates. We waited about 30 min, not bad at all. The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. For an appetizer we all shared and fried Brie and the calamari. Both were really good but my favorite was the Brie. At the table the trout and winter risotto were the favorites. Portions might be small for some but they are full of flavor, you will be satisfied.

Very good menu. Had the sausage pizza and it was delicious. Plenty enough for two. Also had the calamari as an appetizer. It comes with a nice taupenade. It was fresh and just lightly battered. YUM! This a great place to eat while enjoying all Biltmore has to offer.

Tonight ate lighter fare– grilled Caesar salad Excellent. If you have not tried it, it is a must. Not saturated in dressing, unless you want to. Roasted flavor Per our server-Amanda suggestion Also tried the French onion soup– perfect. Not too salty. Great flavor My husband had the special– pork tenderloin, grits, grilled asparagus«quiet nice» and he pretty much licked the plate Did not have room for the desert but will be back Amanda — our server was excellent Knowledgeable about the food and resort! Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Oh, the cranberry bread is excellent. I am coming back to buy some as gifts. Freezes well too

Service was good. Prices were high. Food was less than average flavor. Food did not have a lot of flavor. Tried hamburger, Pizza, and salad with breaded chicken.

Read the review, but skip the theme park meal. It’s unlike me to be disappointed, bc, I do a lot of research before selecting our dining experiences. Booked this place prior to our candlelight Christmas tour at the estate — big disappointment compared to years earlier. All of the chefs appeared to be 20 somethings. Here’s my summary: — meal presentation — average tasting cocktails — upscale prices /ponderosa meal + nice server /Jordan/knew menu — made reservation for anniversary /never acknowledged by anyone — servers busing silverware /glasses trays/bins throughout restaurant during meal/noisy /unprofessional +red/white wine flights best part of experience. My advice — search the other 80+ restaurants in this city, but skip this one

I can’t believe I haven’t talked to everyone about my favorite restaurant in Asheville yet. After being cooped up in the house writing for a week I decided it was time to get out today during the brief sunshine and treat myself to lunch. I always have to think a moment living in Asheville because there are so many choices. I’m glad I thought about just going next door to my neighbors the Vanderbilt’s and having lunch on the Estate. The Bistro was my choice and, as always, I was not sorry. I’m consistently amazed by how good this restaurant is. I’ve been more times than I can count(It pays to have a season pass) and I never have to make a reservation and always get seated immediately. And there is the food… The late summer corn is apparently still comin’ in and I started with the Summer Corn Bisque which is as close to heaven as you can get. I don’t know how they get the consistency so fine and creamy without being the least bit cloying. It’s actually the lightest, tastiest bisque I think I’ve ever had and the garnish was outstanding. I mean when you can shout about the garnish you know it’s special. Besides a little drizzle of really good EEOV there were two beautiful kernels of caramelized popped corn and a tiny, tiny baby leek. Soooo wonderful! For a main course I chose the daily special which was a pan roasted, skin on, chicken served on a bed of micro greens, perfectly sauteed mushrooms and of course roasted corn. The pan sauce alone was worth worth the price and I could have been happy just sopping it up with the rosemary bread for my lunch. It’s a couple hours later and I’m still savoring that sauce. Congrats and thanks to Vanessa, my wait person, and the chef and host and hostess and just everybody else for making this dreary day a reason to celebrate. A trip to the Estate is always a guarantee of being treated special by all the hosts and hostesses there and today was no exception.

It’s always a pleasant surprise when you can experience a place as meaningful and as gorgeous as the Biltmore, and not have to go far for some great wine and great food. Let’s be honest, most«tourist spots» are abundant in attractions, but lacking in good quality food. That is definitely not the case here. Since The Bistro is right next to the Antler Hill Winery, I recommend starting your evening with their 30 minute wine tour(starts every half hour). The tour will conveniently end at the wine tasting room. The best part is: If you’ve passed the ticket gate, then all of this is complimentary. Then, when you’ve enjoyed the copious amounts of free alcohol provided, you go to the restaurant and already know which wine you’re going to pair with your dinner. :D Steamed Littleneck Clams(appetizer): Not totally blown away by it, but, um, that baguette that came with the clams? So. Good. Plate comes with two baguettes. Sharing is optional. Heritage Farms Pork Chop: I ordered the pork chop medium, but I think it’s probably better cooked well done. I can tell the pork chop would have been super tender, since it took just a little more effort than I would have liked to chew(I couldn’t stick my fork through the meat, either). Also, was not a fan of the peas.(Too healthy for me, I almost felt like exercising. Almost.). Sauce: I recommend the truffle hollandaise. You can order it on the side. Ribeye: My boyfriend ordered the ribeye. Having recently tried steak over at Posana(downtown Asheville) and Rick Erwine’s(downtown Greenville), my expectations were rather high. The ribeye was neither as juicy as Posana’s nor as tender as Rick Erwine’s, I would say it has a nice balance of being tender and lightly seasoned. Sauce: I recommend the bordelaise. You can order it on the side. Ice Cream Trio(Blueberry, coffee, pistachio): Their ice cream is made fresh in house, and I absolutely loved it. The blueberry one was my personal favorite. It’s slightly tart. The pistachio was my boyfriend’s favorite. Very light on the palette with only the slightest pinch of sweetness. The coffee one was true to it’s flavor, and would have complimented the perfect coffee fan. Basically, it’s a win-win, because there’s something for everyone! The ambiance was definitely nice. The place was dimly lit, but not so much you couldn’t read the menu. I loved the fact that the kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant. Sometimes you can see flames heartedly reaching the ceiling, and it just really adds to that anniversary-dinner-quality-like feel that your significant other didn’t just take you to «that convenient restaurant located at the estate». So the next time you’re visiting the Biltmore, look no further than the estate grounds to satisfy your tummy’s instincts!

Great ambience and service. You can Bring your own bottle of wine. Corking fee $ 8.50 Nice fresh bread for starters. We both ordered the pasta dish and we really loved it. We ordered rum cake and neither of us enjoyed it which was replaced without any issue. We ordered the cheese cake which we loved(note crustless so a few calories saved !) We got there close to 6:30 and it was pretty empty and we were glad because when we left it was packed. We took a nice stroll back up to the Inn(@ 20 minute walk) which was wonderful to burn off dessert.

After wine tasting at the Biltmore. We decided to go to the Bistro while we decided on a wine order. We had a most delightful surprise. We had one of the best sandwiches ever. It was a rib eye on ciabatta with arugula mushrooms and a garlic/butter dressing. It made our day!

While staying at the Inn at Biltmore Estate for our anniversary we decided to try the casual Bistro over the more formal Dining Room. It’s a cozy eatery with warm wood ceilings and exposed rafters. The open kitchen design provides an opportunity to watch the staff prepare the meals. My wife chose the 8 oz filet mignon and asked for a small garden salad in lieu of the sides offered. The waiter provided the change without batting an eye. I settled on the rib eye. Both were grilled to perfection exactly as we requested them. Food was served quickly and piping hot during a moderately busy evening. The sorbet trio made in-house was a great ending, featuring pineaple basil, strawberry, and coconut lime treats. A bit pricey, but it is on the ground off the Biltmore, so…

Costly and blan food at best. Good quality but prices punish the visitors at Biltmore. Then again they have you and you have no other option. Not impressed.

This is a nice restaurant that is on the property of the Biltmore House, nothing fancy like the DeerPark rather much more casual. It is welcome respite for dining and relaxing after walking all over the Biltmore Estate home and grounds. This time we took the girls and we all tried different pizzas. The traditional pepperoni, a wild mushroom, and a herbed and lamb sausage pizzas. All were pretty good, nice crispy thin crusts(I really hate to have a dough disk disguised as a pizza) but the star of the show was the lamb sausage. nice and flavorful. Cokes, a glass of the house Merlot and a few Oskar Blue mama’s little yella pils washed them down quite nicely. Service was good, we were seated promptly and the waiter was attentive, even helped us out when the youngest wanted ice cream for dessert. Lets not forget the trio of ice cream dessert one scoop each of strawberry, fresh mint and honey. Honey ice cream??? Awesome stuff guys! Not a really expensive bill either so give it a try.

Well, I should have done my homework and looked this place up before just blindly walking in here, but the«natives were getting restless» and we just wanted a quick, no-fuss, bite to eat for lunch. Little did I realize that this was a sit down, upscale dinning place. That creamery out front(with sandwiches) would have done the job. OK, so not what we expected or wanted to pay for, but how was it otherwise(you may ask)? Even if I came here for a fancy dinner date, expecting a fancy meal, I would not deem it good value. The food was«decent». Definitely has a «wanting to be high end» feel to it, but I’ve had some pretty high end stuff and this was just so so. Like, intending to be in the high end category, and charging high end prices, but not actually getting there. I had the entrée Gnocchi in sage butter w/butternut squash($ 15) and my husband had trout. The portions were on the small side given the price. The gnocchi was good although a bit too oily(or buttery rather). The kids’ pepperoni pizza looked pretty good; as far as pizzas go. The service was particularly slow.

Great food for my husband and I as well as our 2 young boys. Lunch was well priced compared to dinner. During Christmas time wear at 330 to avoid crowds and still waited a half hour. The wait was easy cause the wine shop was across the way with free tasting They serve lunch until 5.

My parents love this place, but I find it extremely average. For months, I planned a special event, and they placed our group at a horrible table, and it was too late to change the location when we arrived. VERY touristy, but it is at The Biltmore Estate, so one cannot expect too much.

Oh My! The food is terrific! The service is the bomb! A little pricey but well worth it for a special occasion! I brought my daughter here for her 12th birthday. The server was absolutely great with her. The perfect amount of humor/sarcasm for a 12 year old with a great fine dining experience. Of course, she orders spaghetti as opposed to anything more interesting. The dessert chef made her a special plate, and I’ll have to post a pic of it later… It was a large cookie cut in half and then put together to look like a Pac-Man, with a few small coconut cake balls looking like the dots the Pac-Man eats in front of it. A single candle was set up on the plate(using melted wax to hold it in place) with a wonderful chocolate calligraphy of «Happy Birthday» written underneath the Pac-Man cookie.
