Waitress were realy nice until a guy came on the bar, without to say hello he told me I drunk a lot. This guy treaten me as a shit even if some days ago I spent a really good time. Just for him I can not write a good comment. It is a nice place but only one guy working there make that this place don’t desearve more than that.

No nothing. They are not even trying for the new Comer. Lots of beer in cans or bottles great prices, fine. People smell bad on Tuesday. I might go back for a decent local band.

Nice little dive bar. Music when we were there was punk, which we like. Was there over halloween weekend 2015 and they had a neat little haunted house for 3 bucks! Included a jello shot presented by a ghoulish bartender.

Favorite dive downtown– it’s my go to. Especially when you just want to hang out with a few friends and enjoy a cheap drink. It’s always the right amount of busy but never packed to the point where it takes more than 10 minutes to order and receive a drink. Great patio, definitely a locals spot.

From what I can remember… I loved this bar. Cheap drinks, great service, love the atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. Membership fee was cheap, loved the lighting. I wish I could say more but I blacked out towards the end of the evening. BUTFROMWHAT I REMEMBER and what I was told… I really enjoyed myself at the Lazy Diamond.

I really enjoyed this bar! We went to Asheville for a bachelorette weekend and luckily The Lazy Diamond was just down the street from our hotel. Definitely our kind of place and we had the most fun dancing here. Great place!

If you’re even remotely familiar with moonshiner lore, then you know the name Popcorn Sutton. The Lazy Diamond, like its sister bar, Double Crown, in West Asheville, is owned and operated by Popcorn’s direct relatives. By default(and genetics, I guess), this gives The Lazy Diamond a certain mystique. But beneath the surface lies the good stuff. Good stuff comes in various forms, often depending on what city you’re in. In Asheville’s case — a tourist laden destination filled with outdoor lovers and an increasing number of affluent home buyers — local purists/idealists who left their conservative southern towns for this hippie dreamers’ enclave need a place that fends off visitors. Both The Lazy Diamond and Double Crown succeed in that regard. Frankly, my wife and I belonged in neither one of them, and we enjoyed them both because of that. Bartenders calmly restrain their annoyance when you ask them questions about Popcorn or moonshine. Their eyes barely roll as they point out the not-so-obvious beer list on the wall. They’ll also give you a great whiskey recommendation after asking you how much you’re willing to spend on one. If I lived in Asheville, this is one of the bars I’d frequent. Granted, I’d have to shelve my polo shirts for something darker and more faded, but it’d be worth it for the exclusivity of being accepted at a deeply-rooted home town bar in a rapidly-changing tourist destination.

This place is hole in the wall magic. They always have awesome specials, so cheap! Like $ 4 for a PBR and shot of Old Crow or $ 3 for a well whiskey ginger. Just what the doctor ordered, right? Not to mention how it’s super walkable from downtown being directly across the street from Chicken Alley and all. I totally dig this place, even if I never feel hip enough when I’m in it. Definitely divey. Definitely where the locals gather. I also hear they have karaōke during the week, maybe on Wednesdays? Either way, go to this place to get your night started or just end up here.

$ 5 Jameson special this past Wednesday, yes, thank you very much. Also totally digging the happy hour $ 4 pbr and shot of whiskey. Now we’re talking! I love the vibe of this place, kinda a mix between underground dive bar, New Orleans style, and dingy basement. I mean this with love. I look forward to going back asap!

Arrived in town late and had limited choices. Reviews were great so we walked over. We were turned away for having a friend who was too«drunk»…we had consumed one drink prior to arrival. Pretty sure it was because we didn’t fit the mold of the establishment. Next time I’ll be sure to pierce a cavity or two.

Love it! I always appreciate when new places manage to start out with an established feel about them. Whether it’s the experience of the owners other successful endeavors or some other factor, the Lazy Diamond is hopefully just the establishment to turn around what previously has been a short run location. Free, close parking can involve getting creative but there’s always the lot directly behind for $ 3, if need be.

DownTown Double Crown!!! I love this place. If you like dive bars, strong drinks, and house made sour mix… this is the place. Every night features a $ 3 well cocktail, a heady beer, and some great tunes. Dark, eclectic, and no sign on the building, Diviest Maximus.

Ok. I was pretty smashed when I got here, so this short review may be slightly skewed due to my inebriation. What I do remember: You have to be a member of the club. And pay a membership fee. And then you can have two guests join you. So coming from California I was thinking, this is nonsense. But you know old white religious men and their rules… I guess if 30 percent of your income is not food related you have to be a ‘club’ with ‘membership’ to serve hard alcohol. Anyway. This place is a total dive. But they spin real records. None of this laptop DJ bullshit(I’m talking to you Steve Aoki). Moral of story. Get your ass a membership and enjoy the cool vibes. Rumor has it karaōke night is the jam. Next time I’m in town, I know where to go. Pro-tip! Bathrooms were pretty gross. Carry sanitizer.

This bar is great. Member only, but if visiting just say so and they should let you in for a reduced cost. It is the quintessential dive bar but with exceptional local beers and great basic cocktails. This bar offers a diverse array of people to talk to and get drunk with. There was an awesome DJ playing old records too. Great spot.

I LOVE the Lazy Diamond! Definitely one of my new favorite spots in town. It’s one of those bars where«everybody knows your name!» Everyone from the door staff to the bartenders to the patrons have all been really friendly in my experience. There aren’t any stand-off’ish cliques, it feels like we all came out together! It’s cozy, with cool art & funky décor but you don’t feel squished! I must note that their Wed. karaōke night is AWESOME. The crowd pumps you up, claps for you, gives you your space to perform your heart out, dances their butts off to your jAm and karaōke DJ Tim is one of my favorites around town. He also does karaōke night at The Double Crown in West Ash, which is owned by the same people. He recognized me from the D.C. AND remembered my songs… impressive Tim! :) Both are small places that get a good sized crowd, but there’s a roomy feeling to both of them & always room to dance/mingle! Also, the drinks prices were very fair, which is hard to find in the other downtown popular spots! They’re both unassuming on the outside… no fancy doors, maybe some string lights then BLAM= super fantastic fun time inside! Dive bar WITH awesome ambience + optional dance space + friendly locals + karaōke night + nice drink prices= my new spot!

Awesome dive bar right downtown with really funky atmosphere and moderately priced drinks! The eclectic décor is lots of fun to look at while you’re lounging here in this laid back bar. The bartender was very friendly and accommodating. As if you need more of a reason to come to Lazy Diamond, this is, by far, the best-smelling dive bar I’ve ever been to!

The Lazy Diamond is the most recent addition to the North Lexington block of bars that includes Broadway’s, Tiger Mountain, Crow & Quill, and Rosetta’s Buchi Bar. Opened by the folks behind West Asheville’s Double Crown, The Lazy Diamond feels like an extension of their earlier establishment. Located on the hill along Hiawasee in the former home of Blackout Effectors, the entrance is fairly nondescript. Inside, the ceilings are nice an roomy, which gives this place more space, otherwise it might feel a bit too cozy. The lighting is extremely pleasant, that perfect point of intimate rather than too dark. Multiple booths and tables make sitting here quite easy. On the night I attended there was a DJ selecting choice rock tracks, but playing them at a volume that didn’t hinder conversation. The Lazy Diamond has quite a few cocktail offerings, but there’s no judgement if you choose a Natty Bo over a mixed drink. The lazy Diamond is a pleasant spot, cool without being pretentious.
