We had a great experience with the Richmond branch of this company. We had a very humid crawl space with a minor mold problem, but not structural damage or rot. Sam Draper came out and did a very thorough inspection, crawling all the way through the space and measuring the moisture levels in the floor joists as well as the soil and air. He recommended encapsulation, but was very honest about us not needing sump pumps and perimeter drains, a very expensive solution that would have been overkill for our problem. The foreman, Chris Ellett, and his crew crew came out exactly as scheduled, were very polite and professional, worked very hard for a day and a half, and did everything just as specified. The work included the electrical connection for the dehumidifier, and they even put back up a cabinet that they had to take down to reach the right part of the fuse box. All together, including their«Blue Canyon» air quality system(two fans that increase air flow), the encapsulation, and a new insulated PVC crawl space door made to measure, $ 5,000. Our competing estimate from JES Foundations was $ 8,600 for the exact same work, and that’s only after JES tried to sell us on two sump pumps and a perimeter drain($ 12,000!) that they later admitted were not necessary for our problem. Go with BDry and ask for Sam Draper as your consultant. You’ll get the solution you need, instead of the solution that makes them the best profit(looking at you, JES Foundations).

I was in real estate for 33 years, so i had to deal with lots of waterproofing issues. When we bought our retirement home in Charlottesville, we discovered an issue in our home here that I wasn’t able to fix with my usual fixes. A contractor in C’ville recommended this company in Richmond. Fred came out and gave us an estimate that sounded reasonable and we have been extremely happy with the results! It was a bit noisy for a couple days and a bit dustier than they said it would be, but no more water problems. And the warranty is for the life of the house. We did have one issue with the pump. It was defective and they came out immediately and replaced it with no hesitation. I highly recommend them. Ask for Fred Mcghee. He’s a sweetie.
