I used to love eating at the Breadeaux Pizza in Bellevue when I was a kid. Unfortunately, it closed in the 1980s. So, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that Breadeaux Pizza still existed and there was a location in Ashland. So, we stopped in for dinner on a Monday in July. The restaurant is located in downtown Ashland in a nice historic downtown area complete with brick streets and little specialty shops. Very cute small town and worth checking out some time. Restaurants hours are very typical of a small town. The hours posted are more of a suggestion than a rigid schedule. So, if business is slow they will just go ahead and close up early, for example. So, don’t attempt to come here too close to their closing time as they may already be closed. It’s silly policies like this that cause people to drive into the larger cities to eat and contribute to the failure of small town businesses. Not cool. There were only two people working. One lady taking orders and delivering food and one guy making pizzas. I ordered breadsticks and a large, half cheese, half-pepperoni hand-tossed pizza. Pizza was good. Not spectacular, but a good pizza with a tasty crust. Breadsticks were the lazy ones that most pizza places do. Slap some pizza dough on a baking sheet, run it through the oven, cut it in the shape of breadsticks. The«pocket pizzas» I used to order back in the day are gone and are now simply calzones. Restaurant is clean and generally well-maintained.

This is our local pizzeria and they do their best to serve Ashland and it’s visitors. I believe it’s a small regional franchise from Iowa and Missouri. There is another Nebraska location in Syracuse. It’s important to note that there are different crusts and I prefer the hand tossed or sizzle pan. I would also suggest the combo selections. The ingredients are fresh. It is great to have this place on our main street and it’s a community hub for families and youth to get a slice. They also have sandwiches, pasta bakes, and very good chicken wings. Overall, it’s a decent eatery and I would encourage visitors to drop in for a small town pizza experience.

Hands down the worst place to order pizza from. The pizza had no flavor and worst of all it tasted like it was frozen and chemically treated to survive like Spam. I thought I would give this place a trie before I ever ordered a pizza from a gas station. Boy was I wrong do yourself a favor and order form the local gas station who makes a 100 times better pizza. Avoid this place!
