How could a steak be this burnt? It truly lives up to the name«burn“ams, pun intended. And don’t make the assumption I ordered a well done steak. I ordered a N.Y. Strip medium rare like any sane individual should. But apparently I should have ordered it rare since Dan(the owner and cook) doesn’t have the slightest clue what medium rare is. Not only was my steak well done but both sides were so charred that it reminded me of soldiers in combat that eat charcoal to counteract poisoning. And I’m not alone, this was not a one time occurrence. Two of my family members also got steaks and while some pink meat remained in their dishes the same activated charcoal layer still remained. Clearly Dan’s grill is operating at temperatures close to the surface of the sun, guaranteeing a burnt flavor no matter how long it’s been on the grill. The worst part about it is my family tells me the locals like it this way! How could anyone like that burnt charcoal flavor!? furthermore the bill was enormous! For the same price I could have gone to legal seafood and actually gotten some mouthwatering surf and turf. In conclusion, I am thoroughly amazed his cookware was able to withstand the temperatures and didn’t spontaneously combust like the HMS Sheffield in the Falkland war.

Come for the most amazing, mouth-watering char-grilled burger you have ever had!(Just $ 9.95) Small, friendly, family-owned, hidden at the back of the building where the Ashland train stop is.

My girlfriends distant family rented out the restaurant for Thanksgiving ’11. The drink selection was average for the environment(Miller, Heineken, Jack Daniels, Cheap Flavored Brandy…) Nothing worth ordering. The building itself is very dark come sunset, and the fake fireplace was just tacky. The food they prepared was average Thanksgiving dishes; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, creamed onions, nothing new or exciting, but still enjoyable. The dessert selection was equally average, apple pie, pecan pie, and cherry and blueberry cobbler. I really can’t comment on the main menu, but this review was for the bar and environment. Overall, if you’re looking for a small, old, place to have a few mass-produced drinks with friends and not care about the place, this would be it. Otherwise, I would travel the distance to somewhere else.

I can’t stress enough — this review is for the LOUNGE — which is effectively a bar with a few tables. This place is as casual as it can get — it’s a good place for a cold beer and a pretty solid hand rolled burger. It is no frills — really a place to go with the guys — or even just to drink a beer in peace and be left alone. There are TV’s to catch a game as well.
