Cindahope Kennels

In delaying to firm up my Thanksgiving plans, my regular kennel filled up for this week. I called around to find a place in between Boston and New York with an opening, Cindahope had a slot and the visit was booked. I had reservations about leaving my dog at a place with no Unilocal review and only one review on another site; those reservations were well founded.
This kennel is very bare bones. The dogs are in a converted farm outbuilding and are released for exercise three times a day to individual dog runs. This turns out to inadequate for hunting breeds that require a lot of exercise.
Upon arriving at Cindahope, one can hear the voices of excited dogs who I imagine are hopeful that their owners are picking them up. I was instructed to bring vaccination records which is standard procedure. Upon presenting these, the proprietor didn’t look at them, but rather had me write the date of the rabies vaccination on a registration card. Hopefully everyone that boards their dog there is as honest as I am, but there is no way to tell.
At pick up my dog appeared to be a big glassy eyed as if he hadn’t gotten much sleep during his stay. It was also evident by the amount of flax seed oil that was left in the container that we included with his food that he wasn’t being given the correct amount if any at all.
My dog won’t be going back to this kennel, but the prices are downright cheap, so if you don’t like your dog all that much, you might find that this is an adequate place to leave them for a spell. I’m not saying that this place should be used as any sort of canine punishment, but my dog was very happy to see me when he was picked up.
